Ideas for a secluded island to get eloped??
Screw the wedding, we're going straight for the honeymoon! Anyone have any ideas for somewhere hot & tropical, preferably an island, that isn't super-touristy and tacky? We want it to be something special for just the two of us. I don't care if our marriage won't be legal there, we'll just sign papers at a courthouse when we get back if that's the case.
1 AnswerEngagements & Weddings1 decade agoWho is your favorite celebrity chef and why?
Mine is Jamie Oliver. I love that he keeps everything he makes simple and as fresh as possible. He grows his own produce and is dedicated to teaching others how to cook healthy, tasty and wholesome food. Plus he's just so darn cute!

Or will they just burn on the outside and not cook fully through? My grill doesn't have any kind of lid I can use.

I have a lot of time on my hands so I am looking for a recipe that tastes amazing, not one that is quick & easy.
4 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoHow much should I charge for creating a training manual for a company?
The company I used to work for has just asked me to train a third person for my old position. The owner of the company cannot even train these people himself because he doesn't know the computer/accounting system. I am the only person in the world that can train his new employee and frankly I am getting tired of being in this position, so I am going to propose to my old boss that I will develop a very detailed training manual that will go over absolutely every aspect of the job step by step, so that from now on he can just go through the training manual with the new employee instead of begging me to train them, again.
How much would you say is a fair amount to charge for creating this training manual? It will take me approx. 2 weeks I figure, and that's working on it for a good 8 hours a day. I am thinking maybe $750 - $800 CAD.
7 AnswersSmall Business1 decade agoDoes anyone know the recipe for miso gravy?
More specifically, the miso gravy served at a vegetarian restaurant in Vancouver, BC called the Naam. It's so freakin good I could drink it straight. No, really. It's that good.
4 AnswersVancouver2 decades agoDo you really know what St.Patrick's Day celebrates?
Apparently St. Patrick drove the "serpents" out of Ireland. Most people take this quite literally, but actually those "serpents" were Pagans who he didn't drive out of Ireland, but who he murdered brutally - all in the name of Christianity. What a sick, horrible thing to celebrate. You might as well celebrate the Holocaust.
12 AnswersSt. Patrick's Day2 decades agoDoes anyone remember an old mixed artist cd from the 90's called "No Alternative"?
There was a Nirvana song on it and I don't know what it's called or what album it's on. Do you know anything about it...?
4 AnswersMusic2 decades agoDoes anybody else out there still listen to the great rock bands of the 90's?
Am I the only one who still listens to bands like Blind Melon, Sublime, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Rusty, etc. I know I need to find some new music but I just don't hear anything I like nowadays (I sound so old, only 23 though!). I don't listen to the radio mind you, or watch Much Music (crap - most of it isn't even music now it's dumb reality shows) so I don't get to listen to much new music. Anyone know of anything similar to the bands I've listed?
15 AnswersMusic2 decades agoWhat's a good way for a 23 year old to make new female friends in a big city?
I work in a small office and I'm the only female so I can't make any new friends here. I work full time so I don't go to school. I'm finding it pretty difficult to make some female friends here (Vancouver) without knowing someone to introduce me to people. It's pretty hard to meet people when out at the club or bar because people are there to meet lovers, not friends. Where can I meet some solid chicks that aren't only interested in how they look??
1 AnswerOther - Business & Finance2 decades agoWhere can I find an inexpensive kitchen table (not Ikea) in Vancouver, B.C.?
I just want a little round one but the cheapest one at Ikea (that's not a plain wood square) is over $200. Are there any cool used furniture places here?
5 AnswersVancouver2 decades agoWhere can I find a resaurant that serves pupusas in Vancouver, B.C.?
I had them in Guatemala and they are so delicious. I believe it originated in El Salvador. I don't know of any El Salvadorian restaurants here though. Any ideas?

2 AnswersOther - Business & Finance2 decades agoWhy am I wrong for believing in something you don't?
I don't understand why Christians, with all the love & acceptance they are supposedly to have for people, have such a hate for anyone that does not believe in their god. I've posted a question here about my own beliefs and there were some really harsh answers from Christians who CANNOT STAND that there is anyone out there that doesn't believe what they do. Why have so many people been killed in the name of "the lord". I just don't see how this mentality fits into what they preach. Why can't we all just accept our differences and maybe learn something from each other instead of critizing and judging. You figure after how many thousands of years of this we might have found some way to cope...
21 AnswersReligion & Spirituality2 decades agoIf I pray to the earth instead of god does that make me a pagan?
I don't believe in one omnipitant being watching over us but prefer to give thanks to the trees, the ocean, the earth, etc. for sustaining life and I don't really know what to call myself, if I am classified as a pagan, wiccan, or what? Any insight?
