That's a trigger fish, in case you're wondering.
Why is abortion acceptable to prolifers?
I hear this all the time: Abortion is wrong except in the case of 1)rape, 2) incest or 3) if the mother's life is in danger.
Why does that matter? If life is sacred and is a gift from God, why is it okay to kill the baby if he is a result of rape or incest? What did the baby have to do with it? Why punish him? Why is his life no longer sacred?
As for the health of the mother, again, why is the baby's life no longer sacred at that point? Aren't they both sacred? Shouldn't the doctor try to save whoever has the best chance for survival. Granted, that is probably the mother, but still why make a judgement on the issue before the facts are known. Wouldn't most mothers willingly give their life to spare their children? Or are fetuses not considered worthy of that yet?
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoHey atheists, what if you're wrong?
I mean, if you're right and all the Christians are wrong nothing happens to us. But if we are right and you are wrong.... man, will it suck for you.
I know I'm going to get a bunch of smart aleck responses, but I figure at least one of you guys has put some serious thought into this question and I'd like to hear your answer.
22 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoDo Muslims believe in the book of Genesis?
If so, how much of it? Does the Qu'ran reference it or restate it? What does Islam teach about the creation of the world?
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoKnow any good religion jokes?
Only clean ones, please.
I'll get things started:
Two nuns were on their way to St. Mary's hospital when they ran out of gas. They knew there was a gas station a mile down the road but they didn't have a gas can. So instead, they used one of the bed pans they were delivering to the hospital to bring some gas back. As they were filling up the car a man drove past them with his wife. After seeing what they were doing he leans over to his wife and says, "Now that's what I call faith!"
10 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhy is it "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" is so quickly accepted by those who refuse to accept the bible?
I keep seeing these scoffers recommend "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" to those seeking answers about truth. Isn't that ironic?
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality2 decades agoHow long should I wait before retesting the ph in my aquarium?
I have a 20 gallon fresh water tank. The ph is testing about 7.6. I added some ph down (by Aquarium Pharmaceuticals). How long does it take to fully permiate the water? I've retested a couple of times but it doesn't seem to be having any effect.
7 AnswersFish2 decades agoWhy do people think that things have been added to the bible?
I keep seeing this accusation in other answers.
The bible is the single most cross referenced book ever written. If anything had been added or deleted, it would easily have been detected. In order to change it, you would have to have changed every version that existed at that time and every non scriptural book that referenced it as well.
I realize that the King James bible and those by William Tyndale and Martin Luther were modified but those errors have been widely acknowledged by the greater Christian community. They just prove my point that you can't change it.
Would somebody like to offer proof of its inconsistancy?
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality2 decades agoWhat would you rather have from your husband?
A one carat diamond anniversary ring or a two week vacation at some wildly romantic place?
If you say the ring, why?
If you say the experience, where would you want to go?
17 AnswersMarriage & Divorce2 decades agoWhy is it so many Catholics have potty mouths?
I've hung around a lot of Christians from all kinds of denominations. I've gone on retreats with Lutherins, conferences with Methodists, overseas missions with Nazarene's, and I even married a Baptist.
By far and away the most vulgar of them all have been the Catholics.
Paul says in Ephesians 5:29 "No foul language should come out of your mouths..." Yet it seems Catholics have a dispensation to ignore this.
And I'm not talking about the C&E's either. We're talking about Eucharistic ministers, youth leaders, bible study teachers; I even had priests in college swearing in the classroom! What gives?
5 AnswersReligion & Spirituality2 decades agoLadies, how did your husband propose to you? I need good stories.?
I am asking for Tuliprose who needs to see what she could be missing out on if she tries to get her deadbeat boyfriend of five years to merely capitulate to marriage.
11 AnswersWeddings2 decades agoWhy is it Atheists are constantly criticizing Christians for prosetylizing ...?
...yet they seem to outnumber us in the Religion and Spirituality section of Yahoo Answers?
7 AnswersReligion & Spirituality2 decades agoIf Muslims believe Jesus was just a prophet, what do they make of His claims that He was God?
I assume Islam considers these claims to be misinterpretted or misreported. But the primary source for establishing Jesus as a messenger of God is also is the primary source for establishing His divinity. And if Jesus didn't rise from the dead then what was the point of his ministry?
