I am 50 this year. I live with my mother and girlfriend. Time has not entirely destroyed my appearance, and I think it shows respect to others and yourself to look after oneself. Having said that, I have done a lot of stupid things in my life. The main one beiing getting involved in hard IV drug use in my early 20's and onwards. I wish I had never seen a drug and would never advocate there use. But they have been a large part of my life and I can only work with what I have, which is mostly a lot of mistakes, but also a lot of life experience. I have travelled in Europe. I have a BA in English Lit and Art History and an MA in Eng Lit. I am still interested in reading and the arts, and have also become increasingly interested in the Paranormal, or rather that which we are currently ignorant about. I read the tarot cards on an amateur basis and believe in the power of the mind as a strong force, but one that is difficult to contact, yet alone harness and use wisely.
We have a partially blocked sewer. We have dealt with this before with proper rods (now stolen).?
We are two middle age wpmen. Buy new rods or employ plumber as council no longer deal with it at all.

4 AnswersMental Health1 decade agoHow do I apply to mark public examinations.?
By public examinations i mean things like 'O' and 'A' levels. Degree exam papers, NVQ's etc. I have an upper second in English Literature and Art History. I would like to complete my half finished MA, or study for an MPhil /Phd. But money is a real issue, and I thought marking exam papers oe something similar might be a possibility. Also is private tutoring by correspondence or face to face a possibility at any academic level without a specific teaching qualification. I worked for 'Private Tutors' many years ago, but things have changed such a lot. I am female, single, with no children.and am aged 50. Without my noticing it happening I have become a full time carer for my only relative, my mother. mum suffers from things like incontinence, dementia, trouble walking and has severe alcoholism but is in denial and won't get help or even consider it a health or money problem. I don't know where the dementia stops and the alcoholism begins etc. I have fallen gradually into a very limited life, exacerbated by money problems. I am not looking for sympathy but thought of marking exams as being a possible start in helping to expand my life and earn some money. I am scared of being broke, homeless, lonely, bored with nothing to look forward to.
2 AnswersStandards & Testing1 decade agoHouse re-insurance. Regardless of the size of the claim do the insurers have a legal duty to renew the policy?
My mother owns the bungalow we both live in. She has been insured with the same large company for over 50 years and has made two previous small claims. april '08 we had a bad housefire, we were only able to move in 2 weeks ago. The annual insurance was due for renewal October '08. Checking through bank statements recently I saw that the direct debit payments were no longer taken as they usually are. I phoned to sort this out and was told that they had declined to re-insure us. Since this claim is still not fully completed we cannot get insurance with another company, and so currently are uninsured. TO make matters worse we were burgaled twice after the fire and these claims have still not been dealt with. What can we do?
My mother owns the bungalow but is prepared to let me have a financial interest in the property if this wuill help. I am completely at the end of my tether over the whole business, and would dearly like someone who knows about insurance to tell me what to do.
