  • Windows 8.1 crashes with itunes store?

    itunes store keeps crashing!

I am using windows 8.1 and have the latest version of itunes. When I open the itunes store it just crashes.

I have looked online for a solution and many are saying something about copy and pasting a QT.dll file. I have looked where suggested but I don't have that file!!

Does anyone have a solution to this?

  • How does my new business idea sound to you?

You may have noticed that Muslim countries like to burn lots of American flags. And I've seen footage on TV of Libyans ripping up large pictures of Gaddafi.

Someone has to supply them, and it may as well be me!

So I was thinking of a company that sells American flags and large posters of despots for revolutionaries to burn and rip up.

Maybe even impregnate them with ethanol, so they burn better - petrol is a fossil fuel and I think any business should be ethical and morally aware?

I was thinking of a company strapline, something like, 'Responsible agit prop - regardless of regime change!'

    What do you reckon?

Paypal me a grand and you can be a partner.

  • Have you noticed how most of the 'Religious' question seem to come from American users?

I feel sorry for America. It's only been a political state now for about 250 years, and only had 250 years of being used and abused by religion.

Compare that to Europe - we've suffered for nearly 2000 years. It's no wonder Europe is more secular than the US - all those years of abuse, hypocrisy and wickedness have made us steadily turn our backs on the church.

I still don't know if I find the Religion section on here the funniest or scariest read.

  • Cooking Chinese-takeaway style chicken balls?

Need some advice. Have you ever made chinese-takeaway style chicken balls/pieces before? If so, do you cook the chicken before dunking them in batter and frying them, or do you use raw chicken?

I'm just concerned the chicken will not cook all the way through if I put them in raw.

    Cheers.

  • Retro Insults - what ones don't you hear anymore?

Just been talking about this in the office. I can remember when we used to call people things like 'spaz' and 'mongoloid' and 'Joey' and stuff.

What old-fashioned insults can you remember?

  • Am I the only one who has never been on Facebook?

I haven't. I don't have a Facebook page and I've never even looked on Facebook.

I have no reason to, I suppose. My friends all live more or less locally so if I want to keep in touch with them I can call them or visit them. If I had friends who lived abroad then I suppose I can see a use for it.

But it seems like EVERYONE has a Facebook page, or at least looked at Facebook.

I never have. Don't really see the point of it (given my needs, of course).

    Am I the only one?

  • Am I the only who misses Robot Wars?

I used to bloody love watching Robot Wars and Craig Charles doing his 'Close all the windows and lock all the doors - it's time to rumble on Robot Wars!' stuff. And all the 'roboteers' who think they stand a chance with Phillipa Forrester/the other one whose name I can't remember.

I truly wish they'd do another series. Or perhaps Dave TV could show old series'.

Who's going to join me in putting together a petition to BRING BACK ROBOT WARS!!!

Come on Sir Killalot! Come on Dead Metal! Bring back Razor! Bring it ALL back!

  • What Is The Sweariest Sentence You Can Do?

Go on - turn the air blue!

Points will be awarded to the person who can get the most obscenities in, in a conherent sentence, using the fewest amount of words. Oh, and you have to find a way of getting them past the Yahoo puritans - a series of ******* will not do! Be inventive.

  • How Do I Convert Quick Time Files For Windows Movie Maker?

I've been playing with Windows Movie Maker.

I've been doing it with still images, which is all well and good. But I'd like to have a go with moving images. I took some moving images with my mobile phone and uploaded the file to my computer (just using a card reader). But the phone (a Samsung) records the file as a '.gp' (Quick Time file). And Movie Maker doesn't read Quick Time files! (damn Microsoft).

So does anyone know how to convert them into a file that Movie Maker will read?

    Cheers.

  • Congratulations to the US on your new President. But...?

It's good to see the US has a new President, and I'm sure most of the world is relieved they finally got rid of Bush.

Now, I watched some of the Obama coverage on TV and what struck me most was that it was more like a gala celebrity event than a sombre political inauguration. In particular, I thought the speaker who annouced Obama spoke like he was announcing a competitor in a wrestling match (which he may well have been doing). Then there were lots of other vulgar PR events as well.

I thought it was embarrassing and cheapened a very important (international) occasion. Just felt it could have been done with more solemnity and less trivial Hello-magazine kitsch. Wondered how US viewers felt about it.

  • What planet/object was visible last night? (UK)?

I was out driving about 7pm last night. And there was clearly a large object visible. Too big for a star. Obviously a planet.

    Anyone now which it was?

I am in the UK, and the object was roughly to the south, maybe south east.

Links to an appropriate website would be good.

    Cheers.

  • Is Anybody Else Having One Of 'Those Days'?

I don't know why, I'm just having one of those days. Not bored, not excited. Time is going, not quick nor slow.

It's all just plodding. Feels all stodgy.

Oh well. Maybe I'll go to Asda and see if they're still doing those 'Turkey and Trimmings' baguettes they were before Christmas. Maybe that'll perk me up.

  • How annoying do you find the Jonas Brothers?

Clean living, don't drink, don't smoke, don't have sex, love God...

Arrgghhh!!! Could they be any more aggravating!?

As well as 'how annoying' do you find them, what would you do to them and their insipid, gutless, wholesome, wet, music-hating fans?

I think you get the idea.

  • Can anyone supply a link to a structure chart of the French Government?

Just want a flow chart or something similar that shows the departments of French government, complete with departments and where the different districts of France stand within that structure.

    This is REALLY urgent.
