  • Love triangle! I don't know what to do!?

I'm engaged to a disabled guy who is in chronic pain and has bi polar disorder and depression. We've been together 2 years now and I feel completely drained. Nothing I do makes him happy anymore. I don't feel like he treats me badly, but other people are telling me that he is and I'm just a doormat.

Well, his best friend moved in with us, and we developed feelings for each other, and discussed this with my fiancee, wondering what he felt we should do. He said time will make it go away. That didn't work out so well, and his best friend and I have slept together and feel very much in love. We're trying desperately to hide it but now I'm worried that my fiancee is suspicious.

Neither of us wants to hide anymore, and I love my fiancee but I'm not in love with him. I thought I was completely dead until his best friend came along and showed me I have feelings. I don't want to lose everything I have, and I hate breakups and seperating your stuff from his stuff...

Should I just get over those minor fears and bite the bullet? Or should I try and cope with a mentally ill man who says he cannot live without me?

  • My cat just ate CD buffing solution, HELP!?

She licked it off a CD that my room mate was cleaning. It's Maxell CD 335 Scratch Repair Kit, but I can't tell what chemicals are in it...Is there something I should give her to counteract it? Or something I should do? I can't take her to the vet, I'm unemployed and can't afford that.

  • Will keeping a semi-auto pistol's slide in the locked back position for long periods of time damage the gun?

I always see gun locks on pistols with the action open and I am getting a rather old Sport King from my grandfather. I want to know if keeping the slide locked back will harm this (1970's or 60's) pistol. Can anyone help me make a decision on whether to keep the slide locked back or not?

  • Can you answer my 2 Y!A questions bundled into one?

I've been off Y!A for a few days, and I was just wanting to catch up on some things. Like:

    1. Why is there sometimes a green square around some avatars, but grey on most others? It doesn't mean they're online, because then everyone would be green.

    2. When did this new little toolbar pop up? I thought the other setup was better...

    3. Does it matter if you rate for a "Good/Bad Answer" if none are picked as best yet? Is that the same as rating a "Best Answer"?

Okay, so it turned in to a few questions instead of two... >.<

  • What does it mean when someone puts [sic] in text?

I've seen it pretty often lately, and I really don't understand what it means. Here's the latest one I've seen

'"Consider, too, the Health Jolting Chair of the 1880s. It resembled a garden-variety armchair--only rigged with springs and levers. Its advertising promised that the chair would give "efficient exercise to the essentially important nutritive organs of the body."

According to the manufacturer, all that jiggling and jolting was essential for "millions of human beings who may be living sedentary lives through choice or necessity." The chair was, "For certain classes of invalids a veritable Treasure-Trove." [sic]"

Also, if you could, explain what it means when someone puts something in these brackets [ ] when quoting someone else when the person obviously didn't say what's in brackets?

I must've missed that day of English class, becuase the brackets make no sense to me.

  • Any idea how costly and what precautions to take to get your tonsils removed in Mexico?

My fiancee's tonsils swell on and off all the time, and he gets two-week-long strep throat sessions 2 or 3 times a year. When he was little, he got tonislitis 6 times in 6 months, and insurance required he get it 7 times in 6 months to qualify to get them taken out. We have no insurance right now, and they're at him again, it's driving him nuts!

Is it possible to get them done in Mexico, and how expensive is it? My grandmother gets all her dental work done in Mexico, she rents a hotel room for a couple days and brings a ton of bottled water.

Or anyone know how we can get it done cheap here in the states with no insurance?

  • I get lonely and nervous very easily, any advice?

My normal day consists of waking up, getting a ride to work, then coming home and hanging out with my fiancee all day until bed at 1:30, and he doesn't come to bed until 3 or 4. When I'm alone I get very nervous and scared of competely ridiculous things.

Right now he's sick with strep, and is sleeping, but since I took a nap, I won't go to bed for a long time, and I'm lonely and very nervous. Even when he's in the computer room and I'm in the bedroom, it's all the way across the house, I get very anxious. Whenever he's not within shouting distance I get nervous, and I'm afraid I may be completely dependent on him.

I don't drive, and I don't have any friends to visit if I did, they're all the way across the country. I try to play music and keep myelf busy, but I still get paranoid....

Anyone have any other suggestions? And don't say "just get new friends" or "get over it" or "go to bed". Is it really a problem that I'm so nervous alone?

  • Didn't Yahoo! Answers had lay down rules for content in questions and answers?

    Oh yeah, they did.

    "YOU MAY NOT POST CONTENT:

    - that is violent, racist, incendiary, or otherwise objectionable.

    - that are abusive, threatening, slanderous, or belligerent against any individual or groups of individuals for any reason.

    - that contains profane, obscene, vulgar or sexually explicit language.

    - that glorifies self-harm, suicide, anorexia, bulimia, or any other practice that is clearly unhealthy or harmful.

    - to vent your frustrations, rant, make statements, or otherwise violate the question and answer format. "

    To name a few >.<

"...we reserve the right to change, remove, or add to the list at any time, without notice:

    - How are you?

    - Anyone want to chat?

    - What's your name?

    - How old are you?

    - Do you like my avatar?

    - Who likes Britney Spears? "

Now riddle me this: why do we keep seeing these types of questions? Does nobody read the rules?

  • Can anyone explain to me the mechanics of Mr., Ms., and Mrs.?

I understand Mister turning into Mr. and Miss into Ms., they're abbreviated. But there does Misses (as in a married woman) turn into Mrs.?!?!

This crossed my mind earlier and has been bugging me ever since. If someone could explain why it's abbreviated as Mrs., and where it came from, that would put my mind at ease.

    Thanks in advance!

  • How to get pen out of white leather?

I've got this white (I think it's leather) leather purse by Koltov, and it's got blue and black pen marks on it, which have been there about a week. What's the best way to get the pen marks off without damaging or discoloring the leather? It's still pretty new, and it's my favorite purse, so any advice you can give me would be great.

  • Simpler spelling? Re-doing English!?!? What do you think?

    See this article: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060705/ap_on_re_us/si...

I am very glad that the United States isn't seriously condsidering doing this. If it does, than every person who knows english will have to re-learn (or un-learn in my opinion) the language, not to mention all the foreigners who have worked so hard to grasp the language. It doesn't make sense to me that "simplr speling" is better at all. I don't think it will have a positive effect on our children at all. Sure, it may be easier to learn, but at the risk of looking stupid?

I have no problem with shorthand or texting with "c u l8r" in certain situations, but all the time? In our textbooks and medical journals? In our newspapers?

    Your opinions, please.

I was trying to open a Yahoo 360 account so I could put a new picture up here for Yahoo Answers, and it told me I wasn't allowed to access it, I'm not 18, which is completely incorrect, I'm 19, and my yahoo account says so. Why does it say I'm not?

  • Can you give me some good resume tips?

I'm looking for another secretarial job, and I've got 1 year of experience in a medical office. The previous office manager who hired me was recently let go, and the new manager doesn't like me very much, so my letter of reccomendation went out the window.

(I also know that the doc I work for pays like crap....how do I get more without telling a potential boss I worked for less?)

If y'all could provide some tips on how to make an awesome resume, I'd get a better job, sooner! :p

  • Pregnancy symptoms?

I'm currently on birth control and should have, as of yesterday, started my monthly 'thing'. I know it's a little early to be worried about being pregnant, but I am anyway.

I've had a lot of mood swings lately, and my nipples have been hard for days now, and they're starting to hurt. And there's no morning sickness... but I can't think of any other symptoms.
