What is the proper school name to use on a resume?
The school where I obtained my bachelor's degree underwent a name change after I graduated. When I am listing the school I attended on a resume or job application, which is the proper one to use; the old name as it is on my degree, or the new one as it is now known?
2 AnswersHigher Education (University +)8 years agoIs it illegal to give a fake social security number on checks?
When I write checks at the store (yeah, I know I should get a debit card) and they ask me for my license number or social security number I get uncomfortable and feel like they are asking too much information. So I make up a number. I have never written a bad check, I'm not tryin to pass off a bad check, I just don't want to give that information. Am I putting myself in danger of legal trouble by making up a number when they ask? Is it legal for them to even ask?
6 AnswersLaw & Ethics1 decade agoAbout morals?
This was an answer:
It's not about being a good person (define good?), it's not about doing good things. It's about one decision: What are you going to do with Jesus Christ?
Those who accept Him, spend eternity with Him in heaven.
Those who reject Him, spend eternity away from Him, in hell.

I have a few questions. If this is the case, what's the big deal about homosexuality? If you just have to accept Jesus, then you just have to accept Jesus and being gay wouldn't be a problem.
Also, if this is the case, how do Chrisitans get away with saying Atheists have no morals. According to this answer, morals don't matter. All that matters is accepting Jesus. This answer would imply that Christians don't need morals.
11 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoQuestion to Christians regarding pride and judgement?
I notice a lot of Christians who are gleeful at the thought of unbelievers suffering an eternity of unbearable torture. Are there any other Christians who see this as sinful? For one thing, doesn't the Bible say "judge not lest ye be judged"? For another, isn't this indicative of pride? Isn't pride considered a sin? Why do some Christians think that we'll be lured into a religion that takes joy in the suffering of others?

8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoEating fruit?
If Eve ate of the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, how could she have possibly been tempted if knowledge of good and evil didn't exist at that point? I've also heard of the act bringing knowledge of duality. If it is about duality, how could it be Eve who first ate it? If there was no duality before that, how could it be woman who ate it first if woman was yet not distinct from man?

And if so, how can one have eternal joy in heavan if there is no suffering? How can one have eternal suffering in hell if there is no joy?

1 AnswerMusic & Music Players1 decade agoLiteral interpretations of religious stories?
Both on this board and in my personal experience, I've noticed that many Christians take Biblical stories (and Book of Mormon stories, in my personal experience) literally. I've always wondered if people in other religions took the stories literally or figuratively, so this is what I'm asking. Also, do you think something is lost or gained in either approach?
9 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoSwollen lymph node or something else?
On my lower jaw, on the right side near where it curves up to meet my ear is a lump. It is sort of tender. This swells up from time to time. Right now, it is worse than it has ever been - bigger and more tender. Is this a lymph node? I brought it up to someone who suggested an abcess tooth, but I am experiencing no tooth pain. I am having allergy problems - a lot of congestion, sneezing, itchy eyes and ecsema problems as well. In addition, I have one of those things in my nostril that feels like an ingrown hair or someting equally obnoxious. Could it all be due to my allergy problems? Could it be some sort of infection?
3 AnswersAllergies1 decade agoDoes anyone remember this music video from the mid-90's?
It was computer animated and had a seed pod drifting through space landing on a planet and bursting into seeds which grew into things that bursted into more seeds which grew untill the planet was populated and another seed pod went out into space.
It was just instrumental, there wasn't any singing (I think).

I got this question from the Neil Gaiman short story, Changes. Excellent story about gender identity.
7 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agoIs it possible to have "friends with benefits" relationship with out getting your feelings involved?
Can you do this without developing an emotional attatchment? Are women more, less or just as likely to get their feelings involved. I'd like insight from both men and women.

5 AnswersPhilosophy2 decades agoWhen someone asks something like "why don't all **** go back to Africa?
Do you think they are trying to be inflamatory, or do you think they are just that thick? How do you suppose they type with their heads jammed so thourougly up their butt? I guess you could type, but it would be really hard to see.
12 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups2 decades agoIs it extreme that I can't type the word ha rd here with out getting it censored?
I wasn't using it an any graphic context. I said "its ha rd on your liver" and it came out like this "its hard on your liver." a bit over the edge I think.
