I'm not trying to start a fight or pick on you. It just seems odd that ONLY Christians(as far as I can tell), actually dedicate time and resources trying to PROVE the events of the bible actually having taken place at some point in time.

Last I checked, proof is not necessary for a faith-based decision, and no other religion(major or minor) dedicates as much effort to challenging science and history. In most other societies(particularly ancestor-religions), there is no "belief" as we have it, there is only "knowing".

They don't "believe" that their ancestors watch them and interact with them, it's just the way things are. Sure as the sky is blue, water is wet and fire burns, ancestors are an integral part of their lives. Shouldn't it also be so for you that Jesus is your savior, was risen and is the redeemer of mankind's sins without you having to convince the rest of the world that what you accept as truth doesn't necessarily have to be proven?

I've recently begun experimenting with making homemade soda, and after three or four batches, i've run across a problem for the second time(two batches of peppermint made with tea turned out carbonated but under flavored), but my cola took an a fiberglass taste after a few days, and i thought it may have been the under-prepared syrup and food coloring. However, I made a batch of vanilla-almond-cardamom(tastes like a toasted marshmallow) with a sufficient syrup boil down time, and used no food coloring, but two days into the process it is beginning to smell like fiberglass. Will this pass, or is it because I'm using active dry (bread) yeast instead of brewer's yeast?

Don't you think it's ridiculous that you believe gambling to be a sin when most of your churches require you to tithe to the church or ask for donations. Last time I checked investing 10% of your income into a long shot(life after death/heaven/whatever) sounds like gambling to me. Not to mention the countless hours you spend praying/preaching/praising(remember...time=money) and damning other people for a small chance to get into an exclusive club after death.

I know that minsters/priests/rabbis/preacher/whatever on a local level guide their parishoners/followers based on their own interpretations, so they do believe it. What I'm asking is if people on a higher level-like bishops and the other religions' equivalents thereof actually believe in their religion's respective bible, or are they well aware of the intent behind their shenanigans? I'm 99.9999% sure the pope doesn't believe it, but are all the little minons in the know?

I'm not saying your religion is wrong, I'm just pointing out to you that is historically confirmable that it is PURE FAITH and nothing else.

I grew up in the late 80's(born in 84) and fondly remember reading a picture book where the main character was a 4 year old with a mustache, and was written in the first person so that it reflected the author's memories of themself going on adventures through their imagination as a child. The main characters first name was Steven I think, but I can't remember the name of the author or any of these books. Does anyone remember what I'm talking about? The books have seemed to disappear from the face of the earth.

Automatic Transmission

Car runs fine upon starting, but sometimes hesitates in between gears, but it's really erratic when it does this(although it definitely does not like hills). Sometimes it doesn't want to shift from second into third, other times it doesn't want to go from first to second, or from third to fourth. I've only had it for a little over a month, and the weather has stayed in the 40-80 degree range. It has a small oil leak(not sure from what or where, but only requires 1/2 quart every two weeks or so) and burns transmission fluid(not leaking from anywhere that i can see but needs to be filled every week). The transmission fluid also looks as it's supposed to(clear red), so I'm having a hard time figuring this one out. It seems to not like to shift into my passing gear without some coaxing either. Not as bad with overdrive off, but still there. Switching to power helps sometimes, but not always. Any ideas?

I understand basic geometrical shapes(squares, circles, lines, dots, etc.), but why was the five-pointed shape assigned to a star-when the stars in the sky look nothing like that? Same thing with the heart-shape. Why did people assign the upside triangle with two half circles on top to a heart, without actually looking at a human heart.

Outside of welfare being exploited by countless amounts of people-why is the idea of a government universally assisting it's citizens so bad? Besides, doesn't our country(USA) have more than enough money to still have a surplus when it does get cheated?

Who is president hasn't mattered since maybe as far back as Lyndon B. Johnson(at least in mattered when Truman was president-after that it's a little sketchy). So why do we pretend that it does matter? The two parties are exactly the same, and there aren't enough people actually voting in America to have a true popular vote winner. The president may as well be decided by the electoral college throwing a coin in the air with one side being blue and the other side being red.

I dislike Bush myself, but anyone who understands how our government works should know that Bush really has very few powers and does little to nothing as far as the running of the country goes-so why do people single him out instead of just bashing the system-which is truly at fault?

The answer is obviously no, so why do you care so much about what two consenting adults do?

Seriously, I thought conservatives were supposed to be the financially minded politicians, but all Bush has done since he's been in office is spend with reckless abandon. Calling Bush a conservative is like calling Clinton a Liberal.

You know, considering the religion of the Greeks is classified under "mythology". How can you say that your religion is more accurate then the Greeks, when all religions are based on faith?

And would your life change at all because of this information?
