I answer the serious, the frivolous, the fun, the confusing, the "been there done that got the t-shirt", the "I have NO idea, but when you find out, let ME know".......and many more that catch my fancy! I just have fun with Yahoo! Answers, and am so glad I decided to take a bit of spare time one day to join in on all that's going on here! The people who participate here can be a help, a welcome ear, a shoulder to lean on, a sounding board, a smartarse *grin*, a laugh or two, a joy and a pain...they can be welcoming, frustrating, caring, boring, innovative (you should take a gander at some of the avatars on here!!), interesting, worldly, knowledgable, brainiacs, loopy, a touch crazy, and absolutely wonderful! They encompass all walks of life......all races, religions, ages and both sexes...and I'm so grateful to be part of a site that welcomes each and everyone and all of the above!
A bit of a philosophical question for you...?
My daughter, who's 17, asked me a question last night while we were watching an old Disney movie. The question was..." What is Mary Poppins?" Not WHO, but WHAT? I really had no answer except Nanny? Angel? Counselor? So I'm putting the question here...maybe one of you can answer it better than I could? She did state "She lives in the clouds at the beginning of the movie." True, she does...she straightens up her "charges" and brings families back together and all done on the whim of the wind...half counselor/half angel? I truly have NO idea! ....so, Yahoo! Answerers....What is Mary Poppins?

I am flying into LAX in Los Angeles Friday afternoon, and I need to take a cab to the Long Beach area...

Can anyone give me a "guestimate" on about how much cab or taxi fare might be? Or if there are any cab drivers out there who work in LA who can tell me? I've got to go to Matson Navigation Company to pick up my daughter's SUV that was shipped in from Hawaii. Any and all help is appreciated!

I would like to know who does the gecko's voice on the Geico commercials. I know he's British...just can't place it, although I'm SURE I've heard it before! Anyone out there ever figured out who it is? Or do you know? And if you KNOW, how did you find out and where did you get your information (a website with the info would be GREAT!)

...wear hip hugging jeans, letting all the fat around their stomach hang out and over the top of the jeans! And to top it off, so to speak, they wear tops that don't come to the tops of the pants they're wearing, exposing all that fat for everyone to see! I mean...do they honestly believe it looks good on them? Or is it the style today? Or is it that they just don't care? And my own observations have shown this is mainly in girls in their mid-teens to about age 30! And please serious answers only...I'm truly wondering about this and what the attraction is for them doing this.
