2 AnswersWords & Wordplay9 years agoIs rat poison allowed in schools?
Currently in my primary school the headteacher is trying to get rid of some mice that seem to have moved in over the Christmas holidays. The other day, pest control were called in and they left numerous rat poison traps all over the school, in easy reach of the children.
This concerns me (both for the children and the mice!) so I've been trying to find out whether we are breaking any health and safety rules or laws. I've searced the internet but haven't been able to find anything.
I'd really appreciate it if anyone could point me in the right direction for some proper documents that state the rules about rat poison in schools. I'm not really looking for people's opinions or guesses; I'm trying to find some 'official' guidance so I can take it to the headteacher if needs be.
Many thanks

5 AnswersZoology1 decade agoWhere can I find rotring refills?
Where in the UK, or on a UK based website, can I buy red rotring multipen refills? Highstreet stores like WHSmiths only do black and blue, and I can't seem to find a website at all! Thanks, folks
1 AnswerOther - Education1 decade agoActivity holidays for schools in the UK?
I recently took a group of Year 6 children away with the PGL company. We did lots of outdoor adventures, plus ICT activities. When booking for next year, they will not offer us the same price as this year, so I'm looking for somewhere else to take the children. I've already tried Kingswood, but they were too expensive. Do you know of any other adventure companies or independent centres that would be suitable for a KS2 activity week, preferably with ICT activites? Thanks for any help!
2 AnswersPrimary & Secondary Education1 decade agoFrankenstein. Any good?
I am currently about 100 pages through Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, but I am finding it quite dull. Will it get better if I persist, or should I give up and read one of my other books?
15 AnswersBooks & Authors2 decades agoWhat song is going round in your head right now?
It's ok, you don't have to pretend that it's something cool- just tell the truth! Also, do you know why you are singing it? Did you hear it recently, or did it pop into your head randomly?

14 AnswersWords & Wordplay2 decades agoCan you write upside down?
I have recently found out that I can do joined up writing upside down almost as well as I can write the correct way up. By upside down, I mean if I turned a book upside down and wrote, the sentences are correct when I turn the book the right way up. Can anyone else do this easily? Is it an unusual talent, or is it just something odd that I can do? I have asked a few of my friends to try but they can't do it. They were all male though. Is it a girl thing?! Have a go and let me know!

2 AnswersPrimary & Secondary Education2 decades agoWhat are English restaurants like in places like China?
You know how you get lots of thai and chinese restaurants that sell 'typical' thai and chinese food? Well, do you get English restaurants in other countries? If so, what kind of food do they sell? Fish and chips? Roast dinner? I'm not talking about cheap take-aways, I mean proper restaurants.
