1 AnswerOther - Destinations1 decade agoI need some classy suggestions for a menu for a 3 course dinner for a 40th anniversary?
It is for my parents 40th, which is "Ruby", so I would like the dinner menu to have a "red theme".
I'm not a fabulous cook, but my brother is, so if the suggestions are a little bit challenging, that's fine.... he will have 2 months to practice!
Thanks all

10 AnswersGeneral - Australia1 decade agoHave you been seduced by an infomercial?
If so, were you pleased with the product when it arrived or was it crapola?
I ordered a Magic Bullet after succumbing to the half-hour long infomercial that caught me in a moment of weakness very early one morning! I actually am quite impressed with the Magic Bullet, for the record.

1 AnswerBooks & Authors1 decade agoIn the movie Slumdog Millionaire how did Jamal actually get on the show?
I know they covered how contestants phone through to gain a place, but it never actually covered how Jamal got a place (unless I had a microsleep in this part). Did he ring through like everyone else and was just lucky?
Top movie!

11 AnswersAlternative Medicine1 decade agoWhy is Collingwood so hated?
I ask this as someone who knows very little about AFL (only gained an interest in the last few years via husband), therefore I don't know a great deal about Club history or anything like that.....so be gentle with me 8-)
I'm not a Collingwood supporter, but just wondered why they get rubbished so often.....they seem to play pretty well to my unlearned eye
29 AnswersAustralian Rules1 decade agoWhat's the best opening scenes to a movie you have ever seen?
I loved the first 20 mins of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, with the chase scene on the circus train.
I also liked the opener to Casino Royale with the chase through the construction site

(I know they don't actually receive a wooden spoon - just wondering where that tradition started? Why the spoon, why not something else?)
6 AnswersAustralian Rules1 decade agoHas anyone experienced this during pregnancy...?
Hi, I am 33 weeks and for the last 2 weeks have been waking up with numbness in my lower arms and arthritic type pain in my lower knuckles of my fingers.
A few weeks ago, the numbness and pain would disappear within about half an hour of waking.
Now, I am finding that the pain in the joints of my fingers carries on throughout the day.
My Obs. said that carpal tunnel syndrome is very common in pregnancy and the pain in the joints is due to a fluid build up.
With several weeks left, I'm wondering how much worse the pain will get?
Has anyone experienced this? If so, do you have any suggestions for pain relief?
Thanks all 80)
9 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoCan anyone share their Cesarean section experiences please?
I've been booked in for a C Section on the 14th July due to medical reasons and for the saftey of my baby. I wasn't expecting this and had just got my head round the whole natural birthing process, so would love to hear your experiences.
I am particulraly nervous about the epidural / spinal block....the idea of a needle anywhere near my spine terrifies me. Does it hurt? (I was told that the area will be numbed with a local), and has anyone had any headaches from it?
Anyway, I would love to hear your stories about the procedure from any angle - good, bad or ugly.
Thanks 8-)

1 AnswerReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoVery spoiled and much loved cat about to meet new baby...?
Does anyone have a similar story / experience? I want to know if there is anything I can do to make the transition for my cat as easy as possible when our baby arrives in 10 weeks time.
Leo is the absolute apple of my (and my husband's eye). He sleeps in our room every night, is always there to meet us at the door, is well cared for and generally rules the roost and has a lot to say for himself. We haven't 'ruined' him as such and catered to his every whim - we just have made him as much a part of our family as we possibly could....and he is very aware of his place.
My question is: Does anyone else have any clues on how he will react to the newborn? I want everyone to get on famously, of course, and Leo will receive as much attention as ever. Do cats get jealous? Will he grieve for his "loss of place"? What can I do so that the psychological impact is lessened? Am I just over reacting?!
Thanks everyone!
