  • Why too many believe College is needed for Production Jobs?

Our local Hi Tech companies will be investing a few $100s Millions in new sites, empty sites in many cities from Oakland to Antioch, with BART service (soon) could be used. Local High Schools are willing to help in any trainng program yet, Intel had to go to Vietnam to invest $1 Billion for a new factory. They trained all teachers who trained all workers, why can't we do it here? Our High Schools would only eager and happy to participate and we have a local bus line that would bring workers at whatever starting time they are needed. I understand they are willing to use special routes to pick workers, on time. We have it all, but nothing happens, some will wait 5 YEARS to get Real Estate taxes, can you believe that?

  • Why did Darwin quit his seminary studies?

He never returned to his religious studies and took a job in a ship, with fare paid by his father, normally a paid position, and he had no training, at all, for the position in the ship he took, for five years? Was he a hurry to leave town? Why? I've never read any speculations on that.

  • Is it Safe to say Global Warming will be Totally Accepted by 2025?

By 2020, Glacier Park will have no glaciers. By 2025, people in Central Asia will be out of water and food and the world will try to help a billion people survive. The world will be totally unprepared to help. Many will say "I didn't know That! Why was I kept in the dark?"

    17 AnswersGlobal Warming9 years ago
  • What Will It Take To Be Convinced Global Warming IS a FACT?

Are you waiting for all the glaciers in Glacier Park to melt? They will be ALL totally gone by 2020.

Are you waiting for years with BOTH flooding and drought? They are happening in Central Asia now!

Waiting for violent weather in the US of A? A few years ago, California had "Lightning Swarms" that brought thousands of lightning to an small area in a few minutes and started wildfires that took weeks to contain. I trust you know about the increasing floods in the Southeast with continuing drought in the South, from Arizona thru Texas -note: "continuing".

You do know that route exploration has been done and next year you could take a passenger ship from Alaska to Iceland. You do know this will cut time and cost to ship produce from the West to Europe, the route is 12,000 miles shorter than using the Panama Canal and safer and cheaper than using trucks driving non-stop. Is it illegal?

If this is new to you, watch television or read the newspapers more often.

  • GW brought Floods in USA, heat in Europe, Right?

What will it take to convince most in USA and Central Asia? Himalayas Glaciers gone by 2035 and a billion in Central Asia will be out of water and food while floods return to Bangladesh and Pakistan?

Even the Vatican will soon be Carbon Neutral and all energy from renewal sources. What will countries do with all their oil and coal? China is implementing renewal sources faster than the USA.

  • Is Debate The Best Way To Learn About Global Warming?

I was in a debating club in college, we had to prepare to argue either side of the current issue, there were about six issues in the school year. The best challenge was to be ready to argue for either side. You did not know which side you were going to support until after you were called and informed while reaching the front of the class. It was a great way to learn, most anything controversial.

  • Do Most, or Few, Ignore Consequences of what they do?

No need to mention abortions, there have been questions on that. Some, like Linlyons, mentions this but in part of another issue. I am wondering if most people, including myself, let our will control our reason and ignore (a) logical, (b) inevitable or (c) logically inevitable consequences (any or all three).

Feel free to address related issues. Please.

  • Where will AGWs go when Global Warming is Obvious (by 2030)?

Will American Anti-Global Warmies, and others that can afford it, first move to Canada by 2020 and Alaska by 2040? Will Latin Americans move to replace them in USA? Other possibilities remain, I hope, there is no room for all in Greenland and Siberia.

  • Do you think if everyone got $100K a year we, USA, would grow faster than India or China?

The largest and most advanced Hi Tech factory began operations in Vietnam, why? "Because salaries in China and India are higher!" Yet, you think if everyone had higher salaries we would all buy "MADE in USA" products? Have you seen USA labels in Big Box stores? Any? When are we going to accept that our products and salaries are priced out of the market? We must, before we will let "Incoming Tide Raise all boats" like the new Economic Advisor of Pres. Obama wants.

Should we raise skills of Low Income Workers and HS. Graduates, or wait, and wait. Your views, please.

  • Sea level would actually go down if the ice caps melted?

This is a complex question. We know ice floats, will the sea level increase or decrease if the floating ice turns into water? Some are worried that this will make the oceans flood cities like New York.

A different question is what if the water in ALL the glaciers in the world and the ice on Greenland and Antarctica melts and bring new water to the oceans, will the ocean levels increase or decrease? What do you think? And, why?

  • What's So Hard About Global Warming?

Physics: Sun sends radiation made at 1 Million degrees to Earth and Venus. The atmosphere in Earth and Venus lets the radiation heating pass through. The atmosphere in Earth and Venus reflects the PLANETARY heat radiation back to the planet, in proportion to the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere. It may be impossible for enough people to understand this, soon enough to stop Global Warming. In due time the water vapor will increase Global Warming so much that ALL the ocean water will be vaporized and cover the Earth. Water vapor is a worse than Carbon Dioxide to keep heat on Earth..

The atmosphere of Venus is mostly CO2 and the planet warmed up until the amount of heat radiated out equals the amount of heat energy from the sun that is absorbed. The final, stable, temperature of Venus Atmosphere is 845 Deg. Fahrenheit. In due time, the Earth will reach the same temperature.

Actually, it will be a little less because Venus is closer to the Sun. You noticed that the closer you get your hand to a hot oven, the warmer your hand gets, right?

  • Why is it hard to see that US salaries and, therefore, prices are too High?

Production costs include materials, transportation and salaries.

Our salaries are too high, therefore, prices are too high and sale volume drops, which increases production costs when the rate is less than the designed optimum production rate.

Yet, nobody argues that if we don't cut salaries, all will buy foreign goods and more will apply for unemployment compensation.

Crazy, isn't? Must we have a long Depression before salaries drop?

Simply put: We have priced ourselves out of the market but hope Uncle Sam borrows more money to keep things as they are. Insanity means doing the same thing and expecting a different result.

  • Are We Free To Be An Uninformed Voter?

Sure, we can agree that voters ought to know the "Declaration of Independence" and the Constitution but, how about the Amendments? How about the yearly Congressional Legislations? And, all the arguments pro and con? Are the only options 1. All of the above. 2. Whatever you feel like reading.

Is there a Moral obligation to become informed, at the very least, on issues being decided?

There is, of course, NO Moral obligation to know the truth, that is impossible.

But, is it Moral to be unable to read? Is it Moral to damage our body and brain and let the nation pay for my care, at $1,000 a day in a hospital, forever? I think this is immoral, but not illegal. What do you think? Is a choice for ignorance what the Founding Fathers had in mind for a Democracy?

  • Do you think we should send people to Mars?

It will cost over $100 Billion, round trip minimum is over a year, chance of failure is very high. Would you encourage your son or daughter to train for the trip? Would you add $10 to your Income Tax to pay for it? Would you rather we borrow the money and let your children pay for it? We need to stop this madness before the big companies throw Billions to elect "their people" to give them contracts, with no warranty.

  • Since GW Rate Increases, is this the End of Life?

The number of Americans that reject GW is increasing. We will not take the actions required in time and wildfires (in California and Russia) and floods (in Bangladesh and Pakistan) will increase in size and frequency -until the end of life. Looking for clues, will study ALL Answers, am vitally interested. I fear the life of my grandchildren will be too short and painful -they will suffer, how can I explain it away?
