My cousin's wedding is in late June, and my mom (who is in her late 50's) is going to be one of her sponsors, but she has no idea what kind of formal dress she should wear, or even where to start looking. (We're still trying to contact my cousin about the color theme of her wedding.)

Any ideas, photos of formal wear, (or examples of name brands) of what might look nice would be helpful. Thanks.

I asked my college professors for letters, and they said they would write them. Within a couple of weeks, they said the letters were ready. Months later, however, they still haven't been sent (I know this 'cause I can check the status of my application on the schools' websites). What's up with that?

- I provided everything for them (stamps, self-addressed envelope, forms, etc.).

- I gave them plenty of time to write the letters.

- I received A's in their classes and have done extracurricular activities with them (research, tutored their students, gave presentations).

Whenever I try reaching them via email or phone, they don't respond.

I'm driving to school tomorrow to talk to them (again). As an added gesture, my dad suggested that I give them each a thank-you card with a check for $50 as a "sign of appreciation." He said that sometimes teachers need that extra "boost."

In my opinion, that sounds wrong, but I don't know what else to do. What do you think? Money or no money?

I'm planning to apply for some out-of-state jobs, but I'm going on vacation from June 30-July 14. Should I hold off on applying for jobs until after vacation? I'm concerned that any prospective employers will try to get a hold of me via email or phone while I'm on vacation. (It might be difficult for me to check my email or use my cell phone because I'll be flying out of the U.S.)

I've been studying intensely for a big standardized test (MCAT) for several months now, and my test is at the end of the week. I've been taking several practice tests to get my test-taking skills into gear and also to see what weaknesses I should tweak out.

My scores went up for a bit, but during these past few days, I've stopped improving, and my scores are starting to go backwards (i.e., starting to do poorly on the practice tests).

Is it because I'm freaked out and/or burned out?

There's always talk about how girls feel pressured to look like celebrities (even though they're primped and have nutritionists and trainers), to fit a certain body type, to dress a certain way that accentuates their features, and to wear cosmetics (or get cosmetic surgery) to hide or correct their flaws.

Now, I'm under the assumption that most guys don't go that far, but I was just wondering how much pressure there is on guys--how much thought is put into looking good (wearing the right clothes, going to the gym, eating the right things, how they compete with other guys, etc.).

I'm not asking this question to offend anyone. I'm studying marriage from different religious aspects, and this question was brought up in class.

Do you think there's a flaw? Some ideas that were brought up were:

- permittance of easy divorce

- a patriarchal-based life shared by the couple

- rejection of unmarried sex

- permittance of concubine(s)

- rejection of contraceptive sex

- requirement of endogamy (Jews marrying Jews only)

Any opinions regarding the above topics would be great. Thanks!

How early before the graduation date? I'm graduating from college on May 14th. Our school has already had commencement fairs with advertisements about ordering graduation announcements to send to family and friends.

Does it feel like any other day to you, or do you go all out to celebrate it?

I'm thinking about buying one, but I'm wondering how it organizes music. Is it like iTunes where it organizes your music fairly easily by Artist and Album or do you have to do it yourself?

Also, does it have a TiVo feature? This feature I know even less about.

I've been doing research about this item all over the internet, looking for pictures, reading articles, etc., but it's been hard finding one that talks specifically about organizing music.

Some things to consider:

- It's her second son. The older son goes to a state college and commutes from home.

- The son's school is 3 hours away.

- The son is a good kid (so she doesn't have to worry about him too much).

- I'm the girlfriend of her older son, but we're very close. She treats me like family.

Our garage is 10 ft. x 22 ft. How many square feet is that? 220 square feet?

We want to put 12x12in. garage tiles on the floor. I need to know how many square tiles can fit on our garage floor, given the above dimensions.
