  • Traditional 5 o'clock tea in a hotel?

I'm spending my birthday in London, and I'm looking for a hotel, that serves traditional five o'clock tea complete with sandwiches and biscuits. I wonder how much this fancy would cost me. (I don't plan to stay in a fancy hotel, but I'd like to have this traditional experience in a relatively fancy place.)

Please suggest me a place to have my traditional 5 o'clock tea, and tell me how much this would cost me approximately.

Thank you for your help very much.

  • How to get a circle of friends?

I have a male friend. He's very shy, he has absolutely no self-esteem. He's even left handed. He wants to know how to communicate easily with anyone and how to gather a circle of friends for himself. He works in a factory where he can't really talk to people about his interests.

    Do you have any tips?

I suggested him to find a technique that he finds appealing but he doesn't really do anything about it. How could I help him?

Because of his low self-esteem he doesn't want to get to know my university friends.

  • Personal meditation texts?

I'm looking for websites where ordinary people publish their own meditation texts. A couple of years ago I came across such a site but I can't find it anymore and I didn't bookmark it either.

I'm thinking of the kind of meditation where you transport yourself to a forest for example, and you meet someone there and ask your questions, etc.

I'd be grateful for your help.

  • Eating with an antique spoon?

I'm writing a story in which there's this character who's mad about antiques. He doesn't only collect them but also uses them in his everyday life. Well, at least, I plan him to do so. I wonder if he wanted to eat his soup with a Victorian silver spoon what did it take to do so? Imagine, for decades that Victorian spoon had been scrubbed with various disinfectants and the likes. What my character needs to do so that he could eat his soup with that silver spoon without risking his health?

  • Source of this quote by WCW?

I'm looking for the source of this quote attributed to William Carlos Williams. Where can you find this? Is it from an interview? Is it from some of his essays or autobiography? Please, help me!

"But all art is sensual and poetry particularly so. It is directly, that is, of the senses, and since the senses do not exist without an object for their employment all art is necessarily objective. It doesn't declaim or explain, it presents."

It is important cos I already have a section on poets writing about Brueghel paintings. Do you know any European or American poets who write poems about paintings? Let me know. • Descendants of famous artists?

I wonder where's Vanessa Bell's or William Carlos Williams' family now. Do they have living descendants? What are they doing? Are they artists, too? What are their names? I'd also be interested in any artists (painters, sculptors, writers, etc.) who lived in the Victorian or Modernist era. Add your favourites!

  • Books on visual theory?

    Hello,

I'm writing an essay about the visual approach in William Carlos Williams' poetry. I'll deal with the poems describing Brueghel's paintings from the Pictures from Brueghel volume. To show how the paintings are transferred into the poetry I'd need to get familiar with the visual theory. Any good books you know that I could use? It should be something light, not too deep. Just to get a feel of the idea. Thanks!

  • What do you call hidden object games in French?

I love playing hidden object games. I think they are not only great as games but also an excellent way of improving your vocab if you're not a native speaker. Now I'd like to improve my French vocab with hidden object games but unfortunately I have no idea what do you call hidden object games in French. If you could suggest me sites where I can download a 60 mins free trial of French hidden object games I'd be grateful for that, too. Thanks!
