  • How do I handle a medical issue with my step kids?

My husband has two children from his first marriage. We have them 4 days a week. We also have a 6 mon old baby boy. The problem is his 2 year old daughter. She has been sick for months. She complains of body aches and always has a terrible cough and runny nose. She sleeps about 18 hours a day. Even though we have the kids a lot, the ex has full custody, so we don't have the ability to take her to the Dr. His ex insists there is nothing wrong with her daughter and says taking her to the Dr. is a hassle. My biggest problem is she keeps making the baby sick so now I have to keep the kids separated. Does anyone know a solution?

  • Why are you worrying about the Atheists?

Shouldn't christians be worrying about saving there own (ie. True Soldier of GOD) first, before they try to convert the rest of the world.

Better clean up your backyard before you start complaining about mine.

  • Question for christians?

I am a Athiest. I am fine with other beliefs and I think people should believe in whatever makes them happy. I choose not to believe in God or the story of Christ. I am happy, successful and loved. Why do so many Christians judge me a bad person or a follower of satan(this is very silly)or immoral? Is it so hard to understand that just because I don't believe like you does not make me a "bad" person. You can think I'm going to hell all you want, it doesn't bother me because I don't believe there is a hell. What about Jewdism, Wicca, Pagan, Buddist...etc. Thier beliefs are as strong as yours. Why should you judge them "bad" people that are going to hell? Is it really so hard to comprehend that people can have different beliefs than yours and be happy, good and moral?

***please note I said many and most, not ALL.

  • Question about gay marriage?

Why are you against gay marriage? I know the bible says it is wrong, but not everyone believes in the bible. I don't see christians trying to make it illegal for buddist or pegans to be married.. The bible is against thier belifes. Should atheist not be allowed to marry because they don't beleive in the bible? If you don't understand why they want to be married so what? You are not the one that has to understand. If you don't want to see it or it makes you sick, don't go to the wedding. And what if you are right and god does think it is wrong, shouldn't it be up to him to judge? If he doesn't like it let him tell the gays they are going to hell.

And for those who say it is against tradition....

Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. This USED to be tradition.

The bible says it's okay for a man to have more than one wife. This USED to be tradition.

Some traditions need to be changed.

  • Why can't people see how ridiculous this is?

Recently large demonstrations have taken place across the country protesting the fact that Congress is finally addressing the issue of illegal immigration. Certain people are angry that the US might protect its own borders, might make it harder to sneak into this country and, once here, to stay indefinitely. Let me see if I correctly understand the thinking behind these protests.

Let's say, I break into your house. Let's say, that when you discover me in your house, you insist that I leave. But I say, "I've made all the beds and washed the dishes and did the laundry and swept the floors; I've done all the things you don't like to do. I'm hard-working and honest (except for when I broke into your house).

According to the protesters, not only must you let me stay, you must add me to your family's insurance plan, educate my kids, and provide other benefits to me and to my family (my husband will do your yard work because he too is hard-working and honest, except for that breaking in part). If you try to call the police or force me out, I will call my friends who will picket your house carrying signs that proclaim my right to be there.

It's only fair, after all, because you have a nicer house than I do, and I'm just trying to better myself. I'm hard working and honest, um, except for, well, you know.

And what a deal it is for me!! I live in your house, contributing only a fraction of the cost of my keep, and there is nothing you can do about it without being accused of selfishness, prejudice, and being an anti-housebreaker. Oh yeah, and I want you to learn my language so you can communicate with me.

Why can't people see how ridiculous this is?! Only in America

  • Question for those against gay marriage?

I can't understand why so many people have a problem with gay marriage. I know the bible says it is wrong, but not everyone believes in the bible. I don't see christians trying to make it illegal for buddist or pegans to be married(the bible says they should not even live). They beleive differently. It is not your place.

Without quoting the bible or giving any religious reason, why do you think gay marriage is wrong?

  • Question for those who are pro-life?

I understand by many of your comments that you are against abortion because you think it is killing inoccent children. Are you willing to take in every crack addicted baby? Are you willing to take in all the children who will starve to death because there parents are unwilling or unable to care for them? Are you willing to take in all of the mentally and physicaly handicapped children who require 24 hour care and hundreds of thousands of dollars in medications, and no it is not covered by insurance.

Abortion is every woman's right. Would you be so quick to judge if you had walked in someone elses shoes?

  • Question for christians?

Why do most Christians think we are so lost?

I am a Athiest. I am fine with other beliefs and I think people should believe in whatever makes them happy. I choose not to believe in God or the story of Christ. • Gay marriage?

Christians think gays should not be aloud to marry because the bible says it is wrong. The bible also say not to judge. So why not let gays marry and if god has a problem with it let him sort it out in the end? If he desides it is wrong god can make the judgement and send them to hell. Is it really any of your business? If you think it is gross or don't like it, SO WHAT? I don't like my fat old neighbor wearing mini skirts, that doesn't mean I can make it illegal.

  • Why do Christians worry about me?

I am an Atheist. So many christians say they pray for me, they don't want to see me go to hell, they want to save me, etc. This is silly to me (for some reason they can not grasp the fact that I don't believe in god, heaven, hell, prayer, etc.) but I appreciate that they care, I guess. But my question is, shouldn't they be praying for and trying to save there own first. There are christians who judge, belittle, call names and otherwise act very un-christian like. Some of the closed-minded bigots that call themselves christian make me sick. Maybe christians should work on saving themselves before they work on saving me?

And I know there are some Atheist who are mean and rude to others, I am not one of them. Everyone should be able to believe in what they want, without being told they are wrong, bad people or going to hell.

  • What would be a good name?

I just got a second cat. I adopted him from the pound to be a companion for my older male tabby named Sam. I am having problems coming up with a name for him. Nothing seems to fit. He is 9 mon. old. Male. White with black and grey spots on his back and face. Big pale green eyes and very petitet. Anyone have any ideas?

  • Should I add a second cat?

I have a male tabby about 8 mon. old. He is fixed. When I adoped him from the pound he had a broken leg. He was very shy and needy. He hid from everyone. He has since come out of his shell. His leg is healed and he is very active and playful. I work a lot (60 hours a week) and I can tell that he gets bord when he is by himself or when I don't feel like playing with him constantly. I have a big house with pleanty of room for another cat. I am afraid he may be overly aggressive with another cat because of his past injury. Anyone have a opinion or been in this situation before?

  • Do Christians realize?

Do Christians realize that telling an Atheist they are going to be judged by God and sent to hell is like an Atheist telling a Christian they are going to be judge by the tooth fairy and sent to Oz?

I have recieved many e-mails from Christians wanting to save me from hell. I don't understand why Christians can not understand I don't want to be saved and I don't believe in hell. I am not mad at god. Nothing bad has happened to me to make me a Atheist. And no, I am not looking for something to believe in. I have a strong belief in myself and that is all I need.

I am not trying to put down anyone for what they believe. I think we should all believe in whatever makes us happy. I am an Atheist and I am happy with what I believe, no saving needed. Thank you.

I realize this is a r/s section. I have an opinon on religion, I am educated about religion, I have read the bible, I have attended church. Just because I don't believe in God doesn't mean I can't discus it.

  • Is this the "Only if you believe in god" section.?

I am an Atheist. I have read and studied the bible. I have attended chruch. I have studied many different types of religion. And after all of this I made an informed and educated decision to not believe in god.

Now....why do so many believers tell me I should not be here because it is the religion/spirituality section? I can ask/answer iintelligently about religion. Why don't I have a right to have a disscusion about god?

  • Why do christains only have a problem with Harry Potter?

Christain groups all over the world are protesting the Harry Potter books because they promote the use of magic and that is not right occording to the bible. They picket stores that sell the books and have book burnings to prove there point. But Harry Potter is not the first book of this kind. What about the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Dragons Lance series, The Inheritance series (Eragon and Eldest), ect. There have been many very popular book series to come out with magic and witchcraft in the plot. And many of them are geared toward children like Harry Potter. Some of them have come out at the same time or after Harry Potter. Why didn't christains ever protest these books?

I am not trying to put anyones religon down. I think you should believe whatever you want. I am an Atheist and don't believe in god, I was just curious why this was.

  • Two people on a plane.?

One is christian the other Atheist. The plane is in a nose dive and going to crash. The christian is preying and the Atheist is looking for a parachute. Who do you think has a better chance of making it out alive?

I ask this in response to the question earlier about the Atheist "just letting it happen". The asker wrote "So thats how you all live your lives? You just sit back and think "Hmm..there's nothing I can do about it."?

No, in my opinion, we are the ones doing something about it, you are the ones just preying. Thinking logically which do you think will get more results, looking for a actual solution or preying?
