  • Why won't my turn signals work? I have a 2013 Chrysler Town & Country Touring L. The front turn signal lamps won't even blink.?

I have replaced both bulbs, but still won't work. I tried replacing the turn signal relay, but that didn't work either. The lights will not turn on even when you engage the hazard flashers. I am having trouble diagnosing the problem. When you first engage the turn signal, inside the car it acts like they are fine, but after a minute the EVIC signals that it is out. Externally, they do not flash at all. The owner's manual is of no help. Anyone have any other ideas?

  • How much should I sue for?

A couple of months ago, I was selling my 60" HD projection tv. My husband brought a guy over who he worked with, who said he wanted it. So my husband helped him move it from our home to his apartment. My husband agreed to sell it to him for $200, and that we would wait until the next payday to get the money. This was a verbal agreement.

The next payday rolled around, and he couldn't pay because his dog had to have emergency surgery and it cost him $2,000. So we told him, ok, we understand, you'll pay us the next payday.

It has now been over a month. He quit his job with my husband, and we have several text messages where he promised to have the money but he would never show up and never brought the money.

So I had a gut feeling he sold the tv to make a quick buck and never pay us. I searched and sure enough, two nights ago found the TV posted on craigslist as of April 8th. He was asking $150 for it. We have been trying to get a hold of him, but he had disconnected his phone. So I took screen prints of the craigslist ad, and then e-mailed the listing. He responded and called us liars, and saying we are playing a sick game with him, and that its his property and he can do with it what he wants.

So I advised him since he will not call us or pay us, we would take legal action. We contacted the police department, who initially thought we could have fraud charges filed, but since we let him take the tv without paying first, it was a civil matter. They did take the police report though so we could present it in court. The police also reviewed our e-mails back and forth to him, because he was claiming we were harassing him, and defaming his character. The police agreed with us that we were doing neither, and his claims were baseless.

So now we are going to file a small claims lawsuit. I know we can file for the $200 agreed for the TV, along with the court costs, but does anyone know in Iowa if you can claim time away from work for having to deal with this, or any additional expenses like printing costs for the proof of our emails/texts/craigslist ad, or mileage to and from the court house?

I am not a sue happy person, I work for the government and really don't like having to do this. I even offered in my e-mail to let him bring the TV back to us to resolve this, but he is being a jerk and claiming he moved out of state. But since I am having to take these extra steps to get our money from him, I want to be reimbursed for all of it, but do not want my claim to be excessive.

  • Money saving tips for those already doing the obvious?

What are some good money saving tips for the average joe that has been stuck in the financial rut recently? And what I mean by that is that they are living paycheck to paycheck, not eating out, they make more than the minimum payments on their credit cards and never pay late yet the credit card co's raised the interest rate and won't neg. a lower term, etc?

I'm sure I'm not the only one that reads every money saving tip online, yet finds that they are all the same and don't really help you save because you are already doing them...

  • Wanting to move off post/out of state before my husband's ETS date?

I need to know a few things though. We are stationed in Texas, and my husband is currently deployed, but set to ETS a couple months after they return from deployment later this year. The house that I want to rent back in our homestate is available to rent now so I don't want to miss our chance to have it. But will he be able to live in the barracks for those couple of months, and would we still get BAH? We can't really afford to do this if we don't get the BAH if we clear housing. Will the military pay to move us? I know they would when we were stationed in Germany, and that once you moved away, the military wouldn't pay to move you back if you changed your mind, so I am wondering if it works the same here, or if stateside it is just a tough luck thing. Thanks for your help!

  • Anyone in Iowa want to see direct entry midwifery legalized?

I want to see it happen too, but without joining a group (which costs money) I cannot find information on who in the legal system to contact/write to advocate for it. Anyone else in Iowa advocating for it, and have some information to share so I can help the cause?

  • What is considered a city in relation to the new SOFA in Iraq?

With the new security agreement (SOFA) approved, what areas are considered cities for this agreement? I read online that per the SOFA, our troops have to be out of the cities by June 30 of 2009, but to me anything with a name that isn't a military base is a city or town to me.

  • Disputing charges on a cell phone bill..?

Are cell phone bill disputes handled the same way as a credit card dispute, where you pay everything but the disputed charges? I have two charges from the same 3rd party biller that were not authorized, and when I try to call the 3rd party biller I get a message that their service isn't available in my area, and am then disconnected. So when I called my cell phone provider, I was told I still have to pay the whole amount of the bill and wait for a credit "usually on the next bill"...isn't that wrong? Aren't I supposed to pay everything *but* the disputed charge, as they have the complaint on file they can't negatively affect my credit/account until the dispute is resolved, right?

  • My pc shut down while in IE, now Windows fails to start?

I have a custom built computer, so no specific company made it...I was in Internet explorer yesterday, when my pc just suddenly restarted, and now I get the Windows error Recovery screen. My computer uses a wireless keyboard, and it won't recognize the keyboard on this screen, so I can't change it to start in safe mode or last known good configuration. I tried the F8, esc, and del, and it will recognize that, but once it goes to the next screen, it won't recognize the keyboard again. So it attempts to restart normally, and then goes to a blue screen error c0000221 hard unkown error, or the MEMORY_MANAGEMENT error. I do not have the system disc as again, this was custom built not by a company. Is there a way to hook my laptop to the desktop to use it's keyboard to try and start it in safemode, or any other ways to correct this? I've left it shut down overnight, and it is still just cycling through the error and restart screens, never making any headway. Thanks for your help.

  • Why isn't my dishwasher using the Jet Dry?

I moved into this place last year, and the dishwasher is pretty old, but new enough that it has the rinse agent dispenser. When I moved in, the rinse agent dispenser was completely empty, so I filled it with Jet Dry. I stopped using the dishwasher because the dishes never get clean, and always have spots. I recently decided I wanted to stop doing dishes by hand, so I checked the rinse agent dispenser, and the Jet Dry is still there, as if I had just filled it! So all last year when I was using the dishwasher, it never used the Jet Dry. Why wouldn't it be dispensing the rinse agent? Do I need to get maintenance to come fix the dishwasher, or is this something I can fix? Thanks!

  • How do you handle unwanted phone calls from people you know?

My MIL gave my cell phone number to someone who I do not want to have any contact with and had been able to avoid for 4 years...now they call 4 times a day and send MMS...since my cell phone and service provider can't block individual incoming calls, how would you handle this without telling them to buzz off?

  • Can you replace a 3.3L engine with a 3.0L engine?

I have a 1997 Nissan Pathfinder SE 4wd 3.3L engine that sprung a bearing, and I need to replace it, but all the 3.3L engines are too expensive, and I still owe on the car, so I can't sell/part it out/junk it. The 3.0L engines are within my affordability, so I was wondering if I can replace it with a 3.0L.

  • How can I tell if my vehicle is a TLEV?

I am trying to buy some replacement parts for a 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.0L, and some of the parts state that they are not for the TLEV model, and that some are. I bought the car used, so it did not have an owner's manual, and I have not seen anything stating TLEV on the car, so how can I tell if I have a TLEV vehicle or not? Thanks!

  • Laws regarding a dog that had been rehomed?

I had to re-home my dog, as he was becoming mean toward other animals in the house (who were there first). It has been 3 months and I got a call that he had been "found" just a couple streets down from mine...the couple I gave him to lived out of town (I had given his microchip number to the new owners and told them to register him in their name, they never did, so my information is still attatched to the microchip number). I've emailed the couple I gave him to, but they are not responding...do I have the right to re-home him again if they don't respond, as they never registered the microchip in their name (that's why I got him back. I'm in TX, on a military base if that helps with the laws. I cannot keep him, but I don't want to take him to a shelter either, I'd rather find him a good home without any other pets. Thanks for your time.

  • What could be wrong with my 1997 Nissan Pathfinder?

I have a 1997 Nissan Pathfinder that won't start. It was running fine back in April, but then my husband deployed and it hasn't been used since. Well, I want to start using it now, but I can't get it to start. It will turn over, but just won't start. The battery is good (I bought it in February, and took it back to where I bought it and had them charge/test it). I also replaced the spark plugs. Going to replace the spark plug wires next, so do you think that is the problem, or is there something else wrong? I tried using starting fluid (sprayed it in the air intake) but that didn't work either. Any ideas?

  • My child got his vaccinations too early?

I didn't know this was possible, but I registered my oldest for public school for the first time today, and they told me he had gotten 4 shots 2 days too early, and would have to get those shots over again! Is 2 days really a big deal? Also, it concerns me because I am NOT against vaccination, but with the scare of autism and other problems, could being "over-vaccinated" or re-vaccinated cause autism? Are there any studies on the effects of having to have the shots redone?

Why would the doctors/nurses vaccinate kids early if these shots are just going to have to be redone, or is this just the public schools being way too picky about dates? If I had known, I wouldn't have scheduled the appointments for their shots until late to make sure they would be considered valid...anyone else have this problem?

  • Is anyone else excited that Iraq is finally insisting on a timetable for our withdrawal?

I am hoping that this is a sign they are ready to take over their own country, and I hope that they are going to stick to their guns...your thoughts?

PS-my hubby is currently over there serving a 2nd tour for 15 months, so any news of a withdrawal, even if it won't affect him, makes me happy for all the families who won't have to go through another deployment.

  • Are there any laws regarding service flags, and is there a penalty for displaying the wrong one?

I am an Army wife, and I thought that most military families would know the difference between a blue star banner and a gold star banner (service flags, blue means family member in the service, gold means a family member died while serving). I am curious as to any laws regarding the display or use of these service flags/banners, and if there is any penalty if someone uses the wrong one (ie-using a Gold Star banner when no one has died in service).
