Who sang this version of "Stand By Me?" I need help finding the artist.?
The song hit the radio waves in the late 90's and from what I can recall, it was a beautiful version of "Stand By Me". It was a male singer, possibly African-American, with children singing in the background at times. If I recall properly, it had a slow sort of R&B sound to it, but I can't be for sure. I so know for certain that it wasn't "4 the Cause" that I'm thinking of, because I listened to theirs and that's not it at all. I'd love to find this version, but it's seeming impossible since there's likely over 400 various versions of this song. Does anyone know the artist I speak of, or the version I am speaking of? Help is appreciated. :)
2 AnswersLyrics9 years agoHow do I remove friends from Facebook who no longer HAVE Facebook?
Some folks will decide to make their profile inactive by setting them as inactive, or deleting them. Meanwhile, on my end, I have suddenly gained the default Facebook photo which once had a friend's face in it's place. If you hover over the name now, nothing happens. No links for their stats, or page info. No "Remove" or "Unfriend" links will show up anymore. You click on the name, and you are sent right back to your own page. So am I forever stuck with a Facebook friend on my list who no longer uses Facebook? I have about 20 of these that have sat in limbo waiting for me to find a way to remove them from my list over the last couple of years. They leave for random reasons. Lack of interest in Facebook, annoyed at TImeline, job issues, no internet, etc... and all for their own reasons, I am left each time with names that I don't want to have on my list anymore. So here I am stuck trying to figure out - HOW do I remove friends who no longer use/have Facebook, but still show on my list, and have no unfriend link to click on?
I've combed through Facebook help post after post with no help. I've Googled until I can Google no more. I cannot seem to find anyone who has either run into this problem (or realized yet that it is an issue), or has resolved the problem. Any help is greatly appreciated! :)
3 AnswersFacebook9 years agoWhat is a fancy phrase for music concert that was used in the late 1800's or early 1900's?
I need an attractive name for "music concert" that fits with the event I am organizing. The event is centered around Victorian/Edwardian era, and I wanted something a little fancy for the event name, which is going to be five bands playing different songs. My mind has drawn a complete blank. So I thought I'd ask for some help and see if anyone comes up with something that sounds good. :)
Thanks in advance all!
3 AnswersWords & Wordplay9 years agoWhy does my female tabby yowl when scratching around the litter box?
She is a five year old female tabby. I adopted her two years ago from an animal shelter after her original owner passed away and the family of the owner pass the cat over to the shelter. When we first got her, she meowed at everything and was very skittish. She's long sense adjusted to our home. She's an indoor cat only. She's never stepped foot outdoors in the time we've had her. She's got her shots, and come to us already spayed and micro-chipped. She's a sweet cat, and has a licking obsession (very very clean cat). She has a male companion, which is my long-haired male cat, Charcoal, who is a dilute calico. He dislikes her trying to clean him, which she tries regularly. He will swat at her when she tries and runs away. He's a little lazier, and I have to constantly brush him. He is also an indoor cat 100%, has his shots, and is neutered. To my knowledge, both cats are healthy. Dolly, my female tabby, does not hardly ever meow unless she is aggravated by being picked up, or if she really wants to be fed. Otherwise, she's a very quiet, mild mannered kitty.
For the past (almost) three years now, she gets into her litter box, scratches around, and does a deep yowl, like she is calling for a mate. Like I said, she is fixed, but I don't know if that doesn't mean that she will still have *desires* and do an instictual mate calling or not. My boy does not make any noise at all when going potty. He talks to me all of the time, but otherwise, he's really not real chatty when it's potty time. If I tell Dolly to hush, she will be quiet, do her thing, and hop out then go back to her usual snuggle spot and lay back down to cat nap. She's a normal cat, far as I can tell. She plays when you engage her, hisses at the boy when he tries to get too frisky in play, instigates play fights with him, eats regularly, runs around the house, and so forth. So now I'm just curious on why - over the years - she consistently yowls when she starts scratching around in the box. I thought perhaps she was just a neat freak because she likes to lick so much and stays so clean. So I started making double sure I'd clean the box and change out the litter more often for her. I thought maybe she was just letting me know she disliked her potty box being dirty. But she does it even when it's clean. LOL! I just don't get it. I'm usually really good at figuring out my cats, what they are saying/doing/telling me, but this action I just don't understand.
Can anyone explain this to me? Beyond her yowling while scratching - she makes NO noise when actually going potty. She poos and pees normal. Nothing unusual about either. No weird smells, or odd things in her stool. I have her on hairball control formula, and while she doesn't care for the brushing sessions, I do help her keep clean by brushing her. She doesn't act sick, or anything out of the norm. She just seems to turn into some kind of tomcat with her night life yowling for a hot cat mate while she scratches around. It's so weird... lol
7 AnswersCats10 years agoI want the photos of me after they are taken, what form do I use?
All I run into over and over again are release forms for models. I need a reverse release form for photographers to sign as we have a large group of people who are members of our social club, and are often targeted by photographers to have photo sessions done. The problem is, that when we agree to allow this only if the photographers share the photos taken with those they took photos of for our own use as well, they often "forget" or just disappear and we have no further contact from them. It's becoming an issue now, and once more we have a photography group that has approached us, but this time we want to have the reverse form there for them to sign and agree to release photos, while we also give them permission to use the photos they took. So what I am looking for is the proper form for that purpose. NOT a model release form. Thank you in advance.
3 AnswersPhotography10 years agoBlocking Pogo/Java from resizing my windows?
I'm having a new problem. I've been a Pogo member for years now, but suddenly, as of yesterday, the auto-resize that the java applet games do cause me to inexplicably lose an inch of my screen to the right. I am using FireFox. I hate IE and it won't even load on my computer anyways. So far this is what I've done: Emailed Pogo Support about the issue, and go under Tools, Options, Content, Advanced, and unchecked the move or resize windows box. That does no good for me. Just out of the blue (no browser updates, no changes to the system ...) I've lost an inch off the right side of my screen. This creates issues for when I'm playing team games and someone speaks to me. I can't see but 1/2 of their chat, and that is annoying. I'm wondering now if there's a program I can download for free to block java applets from resizing my windows without my permission now, or if there's possibly some backdoor I don't know about that will allow me to tell the computer to resize those windows automatically to MY specifications, instead of Pogo's.
Thanks in advance.
2 AnswersVideo & Online Games1 decade agoThree White Doves Flying By - What does this mean?
Before I explain - I'd like to ask that the sarcastic people please refrain from commenting something like "It means birds flew by". I am looking for a more symbolic answer.
Earlier today my peripheral vision caught something of a white blob outside of my RV window. I turned to look and it was three white doves flying in a triangle pattern over my "yard" where my RV home is parked. I know this area well, and we almost NEVER see white doves here in Dallas area of Texas. Pigeons, yes - but they are always gray. Never doves, especially white ones. So it definitely caught my attention and curiosity. I've tried to research what it means, and saw things about peace and angels, but I'm a little confused on if this is the case, why me & why now? No one has died that I know in many years. Everyone I know is well and alive. Things are OK in my life. So what am I to take of it? Coincidence and lost birds? LOL Any opinions that are kind are appreciated. Thanks for reading. Ü
8 AnswersMythology & Folklore1 decade agoWhy didn't the nurse do CPR for Anna Nicole?
I'm curious... how come the nurse didn't perform CPR? It says the "body guard" did. Ummm... I thought nurses did the medical stuff and bodyguards did the .. well .. guarding. I could understand her calling for help FIRST - but wouldn't the nurse insist she be the one to perform the CPR? And why did she have a nurse? What is in the 8 bags of evidence that Crime Scene Investigation is removing from the room? Why is the news speculating "Medication Interference" as the third possible cause of death? Do they know something we don't? Are they playing it safe so they don't get sued for saying something not yet confirmed? So many questions -- yet.. I know we will just have to wait it out. I wonder though ... all these things that are floating around in my brain ... what really happened? Why did the police chief NOT have answers BEFORE he spoke to the news? All he said was "I haven't been to the room yet." And why didn't they play the call to 911? Something's not right here ...
7 AnswersCelebrities1 decade agoAnna Nicole Smith's Death - What do you think she died of?
Before to autopsy report is released, what do you think she passed away of? It is a shame that she died so young, and definitely come as a shock to me. But I have a hard time believing she died from the flu. My kids are both sick with the flu right now, as well as my husband. I'm not saying it's not possible, but maybe combined with all her stress, she wore herself down and it killed her? I don't know. Just curious to see what others think. Out of respect for her ... wether you liked her or not ... just say what you think happened, but don't say things like "Good riddance" or "She deserved it." I hate to see replies like that - as she wasn't a bad person - she was just ... different. May she rest in peace.
13 AnswersCelebrities1 decade agoThis "New flu", what are your symptoms if you are sick with it?
Currently, my entire family is ill. We have gone through about one month of various symptoms. I'd have to say that of all the illness's I've experienced in my life, this is THE worst of them all.
We started with a cough. Then a chest cold. Then it started to clear up, but moved to the head. The nose clogged up, and was runny at the same time. Sinus drainage began, and then fever that would spike and break repeatedly. Finally that went away and the sinus stuff began to clear up. But then it moves back into the chest, and you cough until your throat is raw. Your glands in your throat swell up, and this dry sensation begins to sting you and cause you to have a painful cough. Then it moves back into your head and clogs your ear tubs, so you loose partial hearing. Then it attacks your eyes and turns into something similar to pink eye, but it's not itchy... just waters a lot and goops up - turns red. It hurts a bit like a sty would, but the tear duct is clear. Very confusing. Anyone else??
3 AnswersInfectious Diseases1 decade agoIn the state of Texas, can a home owners association break into private property to tow a vehicle?
This is a trailer park & not even that great of one. But somehow, this place charges each home $100 for fees a month, (& I am talking trailers that are falling apart built in the 1950's, 60's & 70's) and they do not have an office where you can contact them or debate an issue. I rent, my landlord OWNS this property & trailer. He pays only $100 month for "park fees". There is a sign posted on my front gate, w/ permission of landlord, stating this is private property and no trespassers will be tolerated. My front gate is under padlock and key with a heavy duty chain. My 1977 Chevy truck has a tarp over it, and is parked under the awning IN my driveway BEHIND the gate. The park association (consisting of 13 people who live in the park), states it's a junk vehicle. It's not. It operates, but I don't drive it. I'm getting antique tags for it. They say move it or we will tow it & charge you for it. If they cut the chain on my fence & steal my truck, can I do anything legally & w/out moving?
