  • Installing Water Line for Commercial Coffee Maker?

I am installing a water line to a three-burner commercial coffee maker in a restaurant. There is a hand sink about 4 ft. away with standard flexible water supply hoses. My plan is to add a reducer T-fitting to the hot side of water supply, then run quarter-inch soft copper line to the coffee machine. I also plan on adding a shut off valve to the line. Just wondering if this is a good plan and if there is anything I am missing in the equation. Specifically, if eighth -inch copper is preferable to quarter-inch, and where along the line to add shut off valve?Would normally hire a plumber, but don't have the time or money to do so. I'm pretty handy, but would very much appreciate any input. Thanks in advance!

  • Trying to Bypass Wall Switch?

I installed a new GFCI outlet in a wall and ran 14/2 Romex cable to the closest junction box in the ceiling. There are already three separate lines coming into the box- two that go to lights controlled by a wall switch, and one that goes to another outlet. I want the new outlet I installed to be hot all the time, but am not sure how to hook up the white and black wires so that the new outlet isn't controlled by a switch. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hope this is enough info. Thanks!

  • Wiring Emergency Exit Sign?

Trying to wire emergency exit sign in restaurant. Closest power source is light fixture operated by wall switch. Ran 12/2 wire through ceiling, hooked black to black and white to white at both locations. However, when wall switch is turned off, emergency light goes off as well, and its supposed to stay on 24/7. Should I cap a white wire at original power source?

  • Wiring a two pole receptacle and two pole double toggle switch in same box?

I have a wiring situation that I believe is fairly simple, only not for me. Here are the details:

    1. I have a two gang box in a bathroom wall in whch I am trying to wire up a two pole receptacle (2 brass screws on one side, two silver screws on the other side, and a green ground wire screw), and beside that a two pole double toggle switch (2 brass screws on one side, two black screws on the other side, and a green ground wire screw.)

    2. Coming out of the wall into the box are three seperate lines of insulated Romex wire. Each line has a black wire, a white wire and a bare copper wire. They are already pulled into the box. One set has live juice coming through it, one set is goes to a light fixture over the sink, and the other set are tied to a light fixture over the shower. The last two sets I mentioned have no power coming to them.

I would greatly appreciate if someone could tell me which wires go to what switch or receptacle, which get capped off, and so forth. Thanks in advance!

  • Check Engine Light on 1999 Honda Accord?

Have a 1999 Honda Accord. Check engine light came on a couple of days ago, so I took it to Auto Zone and they hooked it up. Reading indicated a code P1259, which has four possible scenarios involving the VTech system, a) Open or short circuit condition, B) VTech solenoid valve fault, c) VTech pressure switch fault, and d) Blocked oil passage. The only problem I am experiencing is intermittent sluggishness when I accelerate over 3000-4000 rpms. I am fairly proficient at working on these types of things, but would greatly appreciate some help in terms of narrowing down the problem. Any help would be awesome. Thanks!

  • Finding a doctor in Cancun to write prescription?

I just landed in Cancun and realized that I left two of my meds at home. One is ambien for sleep and the other is a blood pressure med, Lisinopril. I'm told that seeing a doc here to write a prescription is a fairly simple process. Can I get these meds in Mexico? I have horrible insomnia without the Ambien, and the Lisinopril is obviously a necessity. Anyone know how to go about the process of seeing a doctor here and how much trouble it is. I don't want to break any laws either. I just want to go about this the legal way and get enough of the meds to get me through my 12 days down here. Thanks!

  • Water coming out of water heater overflow?

Came home to a steady stream of water flowing from water heater overflow. Have a shut-off valve (luckily) near the unit that I closed off. Also turned the pilot light dial to off at the bottom of heater. Going to buy a new water heater, but was wondering if I need to do anything else safety-wise until new unit gets here. Note: This is not an electric water heater. Thakns!

  • Wiring Garbage Disposal?

    Wiring Garbage Disposal?

I have what I believe is a fairly basic question regarding electrical wiring. Am trying to wire up a garbage disposal, and have a black and white wire coming from the disposal, as well as a black and white wire coming through the wall into the cabinet where the switch will be located. I have a 15A toggle switch with the following: one brass screw and one black screw on one side, then a single brass screw on the other side, with a green ground screw at the bottom. What is the proper wiring procedure. Thanks in advance!

  • Fuel Leaking Near Injector on 1994 Ford Ranger?

I have a 1994 Ford Ranger XLT, 6 cylinder, 4.0 engine. Recently, the truck began running roughly and I smelled a strong odor of fuel in the engine area. Upon further inspection, I noticed that when the truck is running there a fairly steady stream of fuel leaking from somewhere near the front of injector rail or the gas pressure regulator. I can't figure out where exactly, however, and don't want to leave it running for an extended period of time to find out, lest I get a spark from somewhere and go BOOM! Any ideas? Could it be an injector O-ring? I am fairly mechanically savvy and have a Chilton's manual online, but not getting anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • Statute of limitations on Georgia Title Pawns?

This makes me sound like a real idiot (which I suppose that I was, so feel free to point that out if so inclined) but, during a very bleak financial period in my life, I took out a $600 title pawn loan in Georgia in 2005, made regular payments on it of about $80/month for about three years - a) because I was stupid, b) could never get it together to pay back more than that each month, and c) the company in question was kind of pushy and intimidating. Anyway, close as I can figure, I repaid the loan about 6-7 times over before I finally figured out in 2009 that I was being taken, so I quit paying anymore money and moved on. My phone also changed during that period so I don't if they continued trying to call me, but they certainly didn't show up at my home or business, both of which they had information on. So now, the car which has been sitting idle for about three years is up and running and I would like to drive it again. I have current tags and insurance, and the latest registration does not show another lien holder, but I don't want to contact this pawn company for fear of awakening a sleeping giant. Do I still have to worry about this company taking my truck away, or does the state of Georgia provide protection for this under a statute of limitations law? Thanks in advance for your help!

  • A lengthy cold with lots of congestion?

I normally get about one cold per year, and it usually doesn't last for anymore than a few days. However, I've had two in last three months, and this last one hung around for well over a week. In addition, I had to deal with a lot more congestion in my sinuses and chest this time around. Yes, I am a smoker, and I work in an extremely dust-filled environment, so I may have already answered my own question. Just thought I would put it out there to see what people had to say. Thanks!

  • Underside of cats mouth swollen?

I have a ferrel cat that I feed who comes around about every day, but definitely lives in the wild. Recently he had a sore - perhaps from a bite or a fight, didn't eat a whole lot for a couple of weeks and lost about maybe 7 pounds. That healed and he started eating again, but today I noticed that the lower part of his mouth, near the neck on the outside, is swollen and he was discharging a small amount of drool from his mouth. Has anyone ever seen this type of thing or does anyone have any idea what I can do to help the swelling go down and make him more comfortable. He's eating, but lethargic and obviously very uncomfortable. I also put a bed on the deck and he's staying uncharacteristically close to the house sleeping in the bed.

  • How to hook up an attic fan with timer to a switch?

I have an attic-style vent fan in my garage attached to the wall, and it is covering a vent. It has been unwired for some time, and I want to put a standard toggle wall switch as it's main control. As it now stands, this is what I have as far as wiring: 1) one black and one white wire coming from the unit and connecting to the thermostat in the motor; 2) one white and one black wire coming from the fan and connecting to a slotted dial-type switch, which you turn with a flathead screwdriver. The settings on the thermostat switch are 60 degrees, 90 degrees and 120 degrees; and, 3) one black and white wire coming from the switch that is designated for wiring to a main power source. There is a junction box nearby that I can hook into, but I just need to know what wires to hook up. The switch is a one pole 15 amp. If I can get the wiring worked out, I can handle the rest. Hope this isn't too confusing. Thanks!

  • 2000 Dodge Ram Wiring Issues?

I have a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 with a rather perplexing problem. There are three warning lights that stay on constantly ( the yellow "ABS" light, yellow "Low Wiper Fluid" light, and the red "Brake" light). Nothing is wrong with any of these units. The thing is that the lights stay on but go out whenever I move the steering wheel up and down with the adjustment lever that is provided. Then the lights come back on. In addition, the AC and heater blower will only work if I move the steering wheel to it's lowest position. It has been this way for a while, but I'm getting tired of it and want to fix it. It definitely seems like a wiring issue, but who knows? Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
