Whats the best Windows media server around?

Purposes were:

* Wanted to stream videos to my board-mates, but don't want them to simply click-and-drag to copy all my media. (so FTP/File Sharing is out of the question.)

* Easy drag and drop playlist creation (since I cannot click and drag from folder to Windows Media Player 12, since my tons of media are categorized by folder.) [or if it was possible, please tell me, I'm quite having a hard time making categories within WMP12]

* My machine is Windows 7, and my other mates were mostly Windows 7 and PS3 too, I wanted to have compatibility to both as possible, but Windows 7 is priority.

* A media server having efficient use of the memory.

* Plans were Windows Media Server (as server) to Windows Media Player (as client). << but having a hard time making categories/playlist. (since adding files to WMP12 by library just adds them all up.)

* I only need within- LAN as a server, but WAN doesn't hurt.

I have heard that they differ in power consumption (having the Steel Fan consume more power).

Q#1: By how much do they differ (by ratio or by exact data would be okay)

Q#2: Is the additional power consumption with the Steel Electric Fans worth it? (rationally compared with the added cooling power)

Hi, Im a General Manager on my company, and I wanted to monitor communication between my departments, is there an easy way to automatically record all communication through the Intercom system of our company? either DIY or a kit may be okay.

from past experience with Vista, it aint that good..

Is Vista now efficient? or theres still a significant slowdown to performance compared to XP?

With my new laptops specs, would I still feel the difference on its performance between WinXP and WinVista?

Does the GPU model have turbocache? if so, how can we calculate the total memory the GPU would have, if it has 2gig of ram, and of 4gig of ram?

And another question:

Is hyper memory and turbocache exactly same?

Cousin sent me a 32gig flash disk, and it would seem that the space was too big for a flash disk. after we put files on them, some files would be gone afterwards. But after I partitioned it to a 4gig flash disk, the files are fine. Partition magic wont detect the flash disk, and windows xp boot installer wont make more than 2 partitions on removable drives.

I also tried making 5 partitions (4gig each), but after I plug it into Windows XP, it would only detect the first partition.

Is there a better resolve or partition? or a good way to make this flash disk work better?

I need a way to make many 4gig partitions from the drive and make it work on Windows XP (that Explorer can see all the partitions at once)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
