  • Concerning euthanasia of a cat, what do you consider the best method?

I was speaking with a friend of mine the other day, and he told me he had his sick elderly cat euthanized. I thought he took his pet to a veterinarian, but he said he had a friend come to the house with CO2. I was shocked, because I live in New York State, and here it is illegal to use any gas to euthanize a mammal. The animal has to be sedated, and then a lethal dose of sodium pentobarbital is administered. I told him that, and he just scoffed at me. I told him that rather than CO2, which is just another form of asphyxiation, shooting the animal would have been more humane. So, what are your thoughts? Is CO2 more humane than shooting the animal? (I believe the only reason he had his friend come over was to avoid paying vet bills).

  • Pro Life vs Pro Choice: Could I have your opinion?

My daughter in law in pro choice and I am pro life. I have never had any confrontation with her and I have been trying to maintain a peaceful coexistence, even though we are light years apart on our views. The first problem arose after the tragic murder of Dr. Tiller. My daughter in law posted a letter to the editor in our local paper criticizing pro life groups and saying that some of them were probably celebrating the death of Dr. Tiller. This really shocked me because I found the death of Dr. Tiller a tragedy, and although I did not agree with what he was doing, I certainly was not drinking champagne and toasting to his death. I don't want to debate the issue of abortion, but just the propriety of making a public statement to the detriment of internal family relations. I spoke to my son about the issue and he is in total agreement with his wife. They don't care at all what the consequences are, or if my feelings were hurt. I have never posted any inflammatory material against their views. I don't care what side of the issue you are on. Do you think she acted responsibly by posting that letter which I found very insulting and demeaning?

  • I have a question concerning a suggestion I have given to a local facility concerning energy savings.?

I noticed over a year ago that a local business in my community had a ventilation system that was running continuously, 24/7, 365 days a year. I did research on the system and its cost, and I determined that if the system was only used as needed (it is a hood ventilation system in a kitchen), the facility would realize a cost savings of over $10,000 per year. I approached their management on this issue, and they were on the defensive, and really arrogant to me about my questioning their operation. Do you think this is the proper way for any manager to act when offered a suggestion on cutting costs?

  • I have a question concerning abortion.?

My son married a person who works for Planned Parenthood part time. I found that they support abortion and other issues that I oppose. My daughter in law wrote an article in the paper about the murder of Dr. Tiller back in June of this year, and she practically believes he was a saint. He did so much good, etc, etc. She criticizes the pro-life organizations and says they are probably celebrating the death of Dr. Tiller. Pro life does not work that way. We respect all life. I have tried to instill good values in my children, and those values are belief in God and his commandments, respect for life from conception to natural death, and following the Golden Rule, do unto others as you would have them do unto you. With conflicting ideas on such a divisive issue, I would like to how many supporters I have on this issue. God bless you.

  • Are there any folks with pets who would like to get together once a week? ?

I think it would be nice for people with animals to get together on different excursions and invite our beloved animals with us so they can enjoy the different activities and beautiful Florida weather. I would love to hear your opinions.

  • Could I have some opinions about phone calls from Iraq?

My daughter's husband is in the Navy stationed at an Air Force base in Iraq as a medic. He has access to computers and the Internet. His schedule for calling home is flexible. He sometimes calls his wife at very early hours her time. He knows the time difference is 12 hours. Naturally receiving calls this early in the morning disturbs her sleep, which she doesn't mind and tolerates because she loves him. I love him also, but she works a daytime job at a nursing home. If she was not working out of the home, I would not have a problem with it. I was wondering what your thoughts were. I was in the military too, and served proudly oversees, but I did not have Internet and phone calls were all but impossible. We had the US Mail.

  • Has anyone else ever been blinded by high beams in the day time or night time?

One of my pet peeves is inconsiderate drivers who defy all logic by driving around impervious to the fact that their high beams are blinding all oncoming traffic. You can flash your high beams at them, and they haven't got a clue as to why you are doing it. Do they actually think that the high beams are not so bright in the day time? The candle power is the same no matter the time of day or night. You practically need welders glasses to endure the glare from these lights.

  • What is your greatest pet peeve when it comes to driving?

Mine is having to endure vehicles coming at me with their high beams glaring! Many drivers don't realize that they have their brights on and that even in the day time, they are just as bright as at night. When I encounter this situation, I usually try to tell them by flashing my lights at them, so they will dim their lights. Many times, they are not aware of what I am trying to tell them! Makes you wonder what condition they are in.

  • Does anyone know how to correct a problem with Yahoo Messenger?

When I attempt to IM anyone, there is a Porn message that keeps popping up. It invites me to go to another site. I don't know how it got in my system and I sent a message to Yahoo and they haven't responded. (Surprise!) It is a nuisance. I can't IM anyone. If I start a sentence, the popup will wipe out my characters, and I have lost everything. I can only type short sentences. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I did uninstall IM from my computer and reinstall it, but that didn't do any good. The system is still corrupted with that stupid porn popup.

  • Ladies: Have you ever tried Udder Creme?

It is the same creme I used to use on the dairy farm where I used to work. It is really good for the skin! Keeps your hands soft too. If anyone needs a hand to apply it, please let me know!
