How long does vancomycin taken for surgery stay in breast milk?
I had surgery for an umbilical hernia at 9:30 a.m. yesterday and they gave me Vancomycin in my IV. I have a nine month old who still breastfeeds about 2-4 times a day. He mainly nurses first thing in the morning and before bed at night. I did not feed him when I got home. I pumped my breast milk at around 11:00 p.m. and dumped it out. My son woke up at around 3:30 a.m. and I breastfed him. I know that my anesthetic drugs were out of my system by then, but I didn't even think about the Vancomycin. Should I be concerned?

2 AnswersNewborn & Baby9 years agoWhy does my ob/gyn's insurance decide whether I can have a vaginal delivery after two c-sections?
My ob/gyn originally told me that I was a great candidate for a "trial of labor" or VBAC, but now her insurance may not be on board, so I may have to have a c-section. Is there anything I can do about this? Do I have a say? What are my rights? I am 32 weeks pregnant, it is my fifth pregnancy. I had a non emergency c-section with my first born...followed by 2 successful VBACs with my 2nd and 3rd...then I had a c-section with my fourth pregnancy because I was delivering twins and they were 7 weeks early and breech/transverse. I am pregnant for the fifth time and would really like to avoid surgery. I am 37 years old and have no other risk factors. Any suggestions? Thanks and God bless.
2 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoPlease help me find a country song about "the woman or girl I like best...."?
Theres a country song I have heard a few times that I really liked...it is a man singing. He sings about liking his woman/girl best in the morning when she first wakes up....singing/dancing in the kitchen...without make-up and hair up....that's the girl I like best..." I wish I knew more lyrics, I am sorry. If you can help that would be great! Thanks and God bless :)
2 AnswersLesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender1 decade agoCan my ex-husbands' girlfriend put him and our five children on her health insurance through work?
My ex-husband and I have joint custody and he has a live-in girlfriend and he has told me that he and our five kids were going to be on her health insurance starting in October 2009, now it has changed to January. Is that possible? I've had several people say that they have to be married to do so. I've had other people say that she would have to be their "legal guardian" to get them on her health insurance. My ex-husband is very manipulative and he lies all the time. Just wondering how true all this really is. Two of my kids think that they are "secretly" married. It's been a big mess and a lot of drama. Just hoping to clear this up, my daughter needs braces, and my kids are tired of being lied to. Thank you

1 AnswerJokes & Riddles1 decade agoDoes anyone know a game played at family reunions that's a race where teams walk on planks of wood with rope?
We played a game years ago and it was fun, but I don't remember "exactly" how it was made and I want to play it this summer at our big family Fourth of July party. I think it was two deck posts with rope handles and each player put their right foot on one post and their left foot on the other and used rope handles to hold on/lift as their team tried to walk quickly without falling...to the finish line. has anyone ever played this? How do we make it? Is it deck posts?
1 AnswerSwimming & Diving1 decade agoWhat will happen if the temperature dropped below freezing before I winterized my inground pool?
I live in Michigan and (I am single mom-recently divorced with a lot on my plate) I was in the process of winterizing my pool. I vacuumed it and got out all the leaves and I was draining it (and it wasn't getting below the return in the deep end) so I could blow out the lines and then we had an unexpected cold spell. It was 60 degrees last week and today it is 20 degrees. Anyway, my pool is freezing and it's still not completely drained! Am I doomed? Did I ruin it forever? It's supposed to warm up to 36 today and 40's by weekend. Thank you and God Bless.
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoAs a Christian, what is your opinion on pre-marital sex? ?
Just curious. With today's world and sex being every where we look. It's hard not to think about it. But...should we be doing it if we are not married?
22 AnswersMarriage & Divorce1 decade agoWhy do I still have a urinary tract infection after two months?
I have not been able to fully recover from a uti since July. I took Keflex and it seemed to get better, but I managed to spill them in my purse and didn't finish. Then when it seemed to be back about three weeks later, my doctor put me on keflex again, I seemed to get better, but about five days into it had an allergic reaction and never took anything else. So, about two weeks ago I had symptoms of a uti again...thought I was losing my mind and drank a lot of water and cranberry juice and when it was too much to stand I went to doctor on Sept 12 and got Cipro and by Sunday I was not any better, in fact I felt worse. By, Tuesday I was completely miserable. It's the worst I have ever felt. I ended up going to ER on Thursday morning and they tested me for kidney stones, prolapsed bladder, ovarian cysts...nothing! I still had a trace of a uti and they thought maybe some sort of vaginal infection that was causing it. They blasted me with hard core anti-biotics and I thought I felt better on Saturday and today I am miserable again. I am divorced and my ex was cheating onme...but that was two yrs ago...so I don't think it's an STD? I am in a monogomous relationship and we are both Catholic and we really want to wait til we are married...so we've had a coulple of "oops" but not been active for quite some time. I have quit drinking pop for over a month and I only drink water and I haven't even had an appetite. Any thoughts? I am miserable and I feel like I am going crazy. Thanks.
3 AnswersWomen's Health1 decade agoAny ideas for trimming around a garden tub in master bath?
I would like to find an easier method than individually cutting tile around my tub. It's a 3 1/2 in space from tub to wall and the wall is not flush. Any ideas? Thanks so much.
1 AnswerDo It Yourself (DIY)1 decade agoPlease help me open my pool and run the filter/pump properly.?
I am going through a divorce and have to open my pool solo this year. My husband always did it. It is an 18x36' pool with a 9 foot deep end. I removed the winter cover successfully. I removed the plugs. I got the water level 1/2 way up the skimmer.......I just need to know how to run the pump/filter properly. I thought I primed the pump correctly, but I am worried. There are two valves attached to the pump a red and a blue. Are they both supposed to be open or just one? Why are there two? And what is my pressure supposed to be? My ex said to keep it under 30psi. But it is staying at 40psi. And I looked up the manual on-line and it said a max of 50psi. I also changed the sand in the filter, I did everything they told me to do at the pool store. I know the easy thing to do would be to talk to my ex...but that is not possible......things are too horrible and my life is much more peaceful when I dont have to talk to him. Thank you for any help.
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoAre you, or have you been married to a narcissist?
I am pretty sure my husband of 11 years is a narcissist. It is very hard to believe. He has always been so loving, charming, successful and sensitive. And for a few years now I thought I was depressed because I was crazy or there was something wrong with me...my therapist tells me it's him. Any stories to help me come to terms that my 11 year marriage (that produced 5 amazing kids) is over...would be helpful. God bless anyone that has felt the pain that I am feeling.
3 AnswersMarriage & Divorce1 decade agoEver been left by your spouse and felt like you were in mourning?
My husband of 11 years cheated and wants nothing to do with me now. We never fought, we had "date nights" a lot. We were best friends, shared everything and laughed harder together than with anyone. then he started acting weird and everything fell apart. Now we are getting a divorce and he wants to fight me for full custody of our five children. I have been a stay-at-home Mom. I feel like he has been abducted by aliens. How can this be the same man that used to tell me on a regular basis "You are so beautiful, you are such a wonderful wife and Mother. I am so blessed to be with you. I look forward to spending forever with you...etc" I know I need to face reality, but this is really hard to swallow. I feel like I am grieving a death.
6 AnswersMarriage & Divorce1 decade agoHow do i open an in-home day care in Michigan?
I am a senior majoring in Sp. Ed at EMU and I am not ready to work outside the home. I want to earn an income doing something helpful to others- and that I know I will succeed at...and still be home with my own children. Just looking for a point in the right direction on in-home day care businesses. Any info is very much appreciated. Thanks and God bless.
5 AnswersCareers & Employment1 decade agoHas anyone ever been to "Retrouvaille" for marriage. Did it work for you or did you get a divorce?
My husband and I went and it seemed to be working...but then he chickened out and wants a divorce. It's all such a big mess. I just wish I could find the rewind button. Our children are suffering. I guess I am just looking for some words of encouragement...either way it works out. Stay married or divorce.

I heard this song on the radio and I loved the words. I tried looking it up by the lyrics on line but no luck. He was sinnging to someone that he wanted all of these wonderful things for. But mainly to be happy. To always be yourself. Give more than you take...etc. Thanks so much!
