Ever heard of or had a chemical burn from having hair colored or bleached?
My niece is in the hospital after experiencing a third degree burn on her scalp from having her hair highlighted. She had the color on and a plastic cap and was under the dryer at the salon and was burned. Any advice input what may have happened here?

Normally, lye burns the scalp because of it's chemical reaction to our own body heat. Putting her under the dryer made it even hotter. I hope she feels better. Something went wrong and I probably won't ever visit that hairstylist if I were her.

she should sue the salon. ALL salons (in california at least) are supposed to do a patch test (skin test) for any color or treatment that is applied.

they are chemicals... when you mess with fire, you can get burned... i have heard of it before... also some people are more sensitive than others.
