  • How can I repair a small dent in my drywall?

I live in an apartment and the walls are fairly thin. The other day my daughter charged in through the front door, banging the doorknob against the inside wall and leaving a small indentation. The walls are a standard off-white color so I'm sure there's some product for this. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

  • Tax Advice - Claiming dependents?

My wife and I seperated in June of 2007. We are in divorce proceedings but it's not final yet. We have 2 children, one son together and a daughter who is hers from a previous relationship. I'm not able to formally adopt the daughter, but I've been her legal guardian for 8 years. Since June of 2007 the kids have lived with me and I've been the sole provider. However, in late December they moved in with her.

Even though I was the primary provider for the kids, I want her to be able to claim them for 2007. How can I do this? Is there something I need to sign?

  • Question for guitar players - Which acoustic song gets the best reaction?

I don't mean in a full band setting... just an open mic night or sitting around with friends. What's the song you pull out when you really want everybody to enjoy it?

I'll give you a few I use in this situation as an example:

Everlong (Acoustic version) - Foo Fighters

    What it's like - Everlast

    Lightning Crashes - Live

  • Will my FHA loan be affected if I rent my house?

I purchased a house last year with an FHA loan. Under the terms of the loan I must keep the house as my primary homestead for 2 years (it's been 15 months).

If I rent my house and move into an apartment, will the house still be considered my primary homestead? Will this somehow affect my FHA loan?

  • Does homeowner's insurance cover renters?

I'll be renting my house soon and I was wondering if my homeowner's insurance will still be effective? Some concerns are:

    1. Is HO insurance still active if the house is no longer my primary residence or homestead?

    2. Is HO insurnace still active if the people living in the house are not family?

Any other concerns I should be aware of?

  • Does anyone else consider not voting a valid political decision?

In my opinion, our 2-party system is broken beyond repair. Campaign finance laws gaurantee that big business not only dictates foreign & domestic policy, they actually write it. The needs of the middle class are completly and utterly ignored.

There haven't been any viable 3rd party candidates in almost a century. Perot and Nader were the closest thing, and they didn't even come close to winning.

Rock-the-Vote and campigns like it are simply a way that the 2-party system indoctrinates young people into believing they are making a choice. That's just not true. There is no real difference between Democrats & Republicans - they're equally inept and corrupt.

By not voting you do 2 things:

    1. Send a message that you don't agree with any of the current candidates.

    2. Create a fertile ground for a 3rd party candidate to come along and galvanize the non-voters.

The only way to change the system is for a 3rd party candidate to come along who sparks enough non-voters into action.

  • Logic Question - Can you solve?

Three businessmen walk into a hotel. The front desk tells them the cost for a room is $30.00. The men give $10.00 each and go up to their room. Several minutes later the manager comes to the front desk and tells the clerk the businessmen should only be charged $25.00. The manager gives the clerk five $1 bills and tells him to give the businessmen their change.

As the clerk is walking up to the room he realizes he can't divide $5 equally between three people. He decides to give the businessmen $1 each and keep $2 for a tip.

Each of the three businessman has now paid $9.00 ($10.00 initially and $1.00 back).

    Nine dollars times three businessmen equally $27 dollars ($9.00 X 3 = $27.00). Plus the $2.00 the clerk took as a tip. ($27.00 + $2.00 = $29.00)

That's a total of $29, but the businessmen payed $30 originally.

What happened to the last dollar?

  • What should I do with my wife?

She recently told me that she's not in love with me, and never has been. She doesn't want to seperate because we just moved into a new house together with our 2 kids. She doesn't want to have sex because she says it's too complicated. She leaves most of the housework to me and rarely comes home.

There was no fight, no unresolved issue, nothing. I was blindsided.

However, I seriouly doubt she's cheating - it's just not her. She is an amazingly talented person - artist, cook, dancer, writer - she is a force of nature. She's 5'3", 107 lbs, red hair - HOT!!!

I still love her, but I feel in my heart that we're over.

I don't want to leave her because she would be financially ruined, but I can't just watch her grow apart from me.

What the hell should I do?!?

  • How can wife & I talk about this?

About 2 years ago something terrible happened in our marriage.

My wife & I used to give each other a night out while the other watched the kids. One night my wife was out with some friends drinking and they all decided to go back to a mutual friend's house. One of my closest friends took advantage of my wife while she was passed out after too much alcohol. We're not kids either she was 29 ahd he was 30. After it happened he left town and nobody has heard from him since.

This eats away at both of us for different reasons - but neither of us EVER talk about it.

    How can we approach this?
