  • Pitbull Advice?

My sister in law rescued a five month old pitbull from someone who was mistreating it. Long story short, we took it in because she can't properly care for it either. The problem is that we have three chihuahuas that hate it. They snap and snarl and bark. The pitbull is very sweet tempered and house broken, but having it around my chihuahuas worries me. I hear so many bad things about the breed that I feel like there is a time bomb in my house, waiting to go off. There are no no kill shelters where I live. We are prepared to keep it, to prevent it going to the humane society and being put to sleep, but feel intimidated a bit by it's breed. Anyone knowlegeable about pitbulls who can offer advice?

  • Is a tax amendment a good option?

My husband and I bought a house. To prove our income to the bank, we had to show them our taxes. My husband got creative on the taxes and reported more income than we actually made. We are now stuck with a massive tax debt that we don't really owe. I am now pregnant and quitting my job, creating more financial worry. Would it be a good idea to amend our taxes? Can you get into trouble for an error in the IRS's favor? If we amend our taxes, will it likely make them want to come after us with an audit? Advice appreciated --- thanks.

  • If you get your repossessed car back, will it stay on your credit?

After a dispute with our lender, our car was repossessed. We got it back within two days but it has showed up on our credit report. (A sixty five point credit score plunge). Will this stay on there for the full seven years? It doesn't seem fair as we did get the car back almost immediately.

  • How to get pink mold out of my Converse shoes?

I washed my shoes and set them to dry. It rained on them and they were wet for too long, causing mold to grow. It's pink, and oddly smells a bit like celery. This is what I've done so far : I have washed them and run them through the dryer several times. I have set them out in the sun. I have sprayed them with a bleach based household cleanser. The mold is not visible anymore (unless somewhere deep inside where I can't see it), but I know it's there because I still smell it. I love these shoes and don't want to ditch them. Any ideas besides what I've already tried that might get rid of the mold?

  • Open Permit Preventing Closing on House (Florida) : What now?

We were supposed to close Thursday and learned yesterday that this problem has come up. According to the property appraiser's site, there are two permits, one is closed. The second dates to 2002 when the well was dug and is listed "unknown." Because the bank told us that the first permit is the problem one, I'm wondering if they know what they're doing. Even my realtor is frustrated.

We have no closing date now. We were told, "it could be two days, two weeks or two months." We are very very frustrated. How long on average do these things take? Can this prevent us from ever being able to close? What exactly has to be done to fix this? Is there anything we could do to speed things up? Could it get expensive? (I've read that we might end up having to send out an inspector to confirm work done for the permit. We have already been through both an inspection and an appraisal). Should we consider a lawyer ?(this is what my mother suggests). They have told us virtually nothing other than they have no idea when this will be resolved and that we should just "wait."

We live in a dangerous neighborhood and are extremely anxious to move. Our landlord was told we were moving and we already have a buyer for our mobile home. We've stopped packing because we just don't know what's going to happen. Advice would be very appreciated.

  • Painful gum near wisdom tooth.?

Pain is mild, rather annoying, and makes eating uncomfortable. It feels like being poked. It's gone on for five days but I don't think it's infected. I don't see anything wrong except for a tiny bit of blood every now and then. When it began I'd been eating a tough food and wonder if something is stuck inside. I have no insurance. If something is stuck in there can it work its way out or gradually absorb? Does using mouthwash frequently help? I've never had dental problems before so this is new to me. Any advice?

  • Mystery object growing in my husband's heel?

My husband thought that he had a splinter in his foot, because of a pain he had on his heel. He couldn't really see anything in it, but he dug at the spot until he found and removed a hard white object that looked a bit like a splinter of plastic. About a week later he felt the same painful irritation in the exact same spot. Picking at it again, he dug out another of these objects. This has now happened so many times that the novelty of it is wearing off. He feels as if he has a splinter -- picks at his heel with a needle --- and extracts a hard, white object. They always look about the same, and are sharp, sort of like a fingernail paring. We don't have money for a doctor, and none of my internet searches have turned up anything similar. I don't think it is a plantar wart. It is not a heel spur. My mother and grandmother are at a loss too. No one I know has ever heard of such a thing. I'm wondering if anyone out here on the web has had a similar experience and might have an idea of what this is.

  • Authenticity in Romance Novels?

I am looking for opinions on how authentic a romance novel set in a past century should be. What are your personal preferences? For example, is it better to write in the most authentic language possible, which could come off as very dense, or make it more modern, breezy, and easy to read? With romance, what is more important? Authenticity or ease of reading?

  • Adding and Subtracting Negative Numbers?

I have multiple books that all have explanations on how to add and subtract problems with negatives in them but the more explanations I read, the more confused I become. Years ago I had a pre-algebra book that set it all down in simple rules, but I've lost it. Can anyone tell me how to do this, as simply as possible?

  • "Gay" books/literature?

As a gay person, what is the one book that you wish every straight person would read? Basically, I'm looking to become better informed and am looking for suggestions on books to read on the issue of homosexuality. Biography, history, current events...whatever. I'm open to anything.

  • Tips on making money with my website?

I have a website that is a fansite dedicated to a popular series of teen books/movies. (Yes, it's Twilight). It fills a particular niche because it's geared more toward adult fans. A few months ago it was listed on Stephenie Meyer's (the author of the book series) list of fan sites on her website. Since then, I've been gaining members every day and generating what I think is a modest amount of traffic for such a young site. Does anyone have any ideas on how I could possibly turn this into a money making opportunity? I'm a struggling college student and I know I won't make a fortune but I'd like to get a little something in return for the hard work I've been doing with this site.
