  • Intel i3, i5, i7, 7000 series Processors... what is better?

I am buying a new computer. I am seeing bacisally 4 option as the best laptop processor out there. I am under a budget, but I can be pretty flexible. I want to just straight up know what order I can put these 4 processors in:

    -i3

    -i5

    -i7

    -Duo core 7000 series

I know that the i7 is definately the best, but how does the old series (7000s) stand up against the lower new series (i3,i5)? Is there another one in there I should be considering? It seems like most computers with the i7 are too expensive for me, but I think I can do a i5 or i3, or Duo. What do you think?

  • Is diet soda really that bad?

My husband drinks like 3 cans of diet soda a day. I constantly tell him he shouldn't drink so much soda, but he says "It's only diet!" I know that diet soda has some bad stuff in it, but I don't know specifically enough to make an argument against it. He just tells me "There is no fat, no calories, no sugar, no sodium." According to the nutrition info, that is correct.

Is diet soda really that bad?

  • Can you recommend any great WEATHER books?

I want to get my husband a book about the weather. He loves reading and research, and has always had an interest in the subject.

Please, I don't want either of the following:

    -a picturebook for kids

    -a small handbook of definitions

I am hoping to find a book that can be read from front to back. Illustrations are definately not required, but I would imagine a book like this might include them.

Any recommendations you give would be helpful. Also, if you could, please include why you are recommending this book. Thanks!

  • ipod Nano 4th generation vs. 5th generation... looking for a definitive answer?

I have read lots of stuff on blogs and technical sites about this debate. I am looking for someone who has had real experience both both products. I know that there are different features, but I'd like someone with hands on experience with both to give me their honest opinion. I am either going to buy a 16gb 4th gen., or drop the extra $50 and get the 16gb 5th gen. Let me know what you think.

  • How can I bargain myself a discount from an expensive hotel brunch?

My friend insists that we go to her favorite brunch place in town for her birthday. Thing is, it costs about $75 a head, so I am trying to get a lower price. It is at an expensive hotel. My plan is to email their customer service rep and tell them something like we are in on business, and we are looking at a few places to dine Sunday afternoon. I am hoping they will throw me a 5 or 10% discount to sway me to eat there. I know it's a little dishonest, but if anyone has experience "smoozing" to get better rates, please give me some hints.

  • How can I cheer up my unemployed husband?

My husband and I moved abroad for him to study and find a job. Now, a year and a half later, we are returning on a pretty negative note. I have been working on hourly wage to get us by, and, though he got his degree, he has not found a job. We are not moving back to the States and starting over, probably starting with living with one of our parents. He is feeling VERY deflated and unsuccessful. I want to help show him that everyone loves and supports him, even if our venture wasn't as successful as we would have liked. Any suggestions?

  • Should I seek revenge?

I am an American living in Thailand, and I recently left my job working at a school. Among other reasons, I mainly left because they would not inform me of days that there was no school. It is a very long a complicated story, but the bottom line is that :

They now refuse to pay me for the 1 1/2 weeks before I left. I have already worked these hours, and they claim that I did not give enough notice.

Of course, I think I did, whatever whatever, it goes around and around. The thing that I really want to do now is get revenge. They will not pay me, and there is really nothing I can do about it.

Please do not post answers asking more details, or giving me more ways to reason with them, because this is not apparently how this school functions.

I am looking for ideas on how to commit liable/slander and or blackmail them. Anyone have any experience with this?

Please do not criticize me, I am not a criminal, I just want to be treated fairly, and apparently it has come to this.

  • Anyone have or have used an IUD in the past? I just got one, and I have some questions?

I just got my IUD 2 days ago. I left the hospital in a little bit of pain, comparable to cramps during my cycle. I had some spotting that night, which the doc told me was normal. Now for the last day and a half or so I have been spotting as well as releasing some liquid. It is a small amount, but enough to make me change my panty liner (not a full-sized pad, just a liner for the spotting). It doesn't really smell, and it is relatively clear.

I am also spotting, but I understand this is normal. Anyone else experience the clear liquid?

Also, FYI, I am currently living in Bangkok, Thailand, and this is where I began with the IUD. I went to a hospital and everything for the procedure, but I still am very slightly wary.

    Please tell me you experience!

  • Do you have a good book series to keep me occupied?

Has to be fiction. I can't do the fantasy (Harry Potter, LOTR, etc.). I am female, and do enjoy female-type literature about families, ect. but nothing mindless like Shopaholic. I am a recent college grad, and just can't seem to find anything that I am loving. I can't do the romance, or extreem adventure. I like coming of age, love (a little : /) family, social issues. Please let me know if there is anything you have read or heard of that might strike my interests. Thanks

  • Should I change my middle name??...?

So I am getting married soon, and I will change my last name to my husbands.

The question I am asking is whether or not to change my middle name. Here is my dilemma:

I hate my middle name now. It is my mom's maiden name, and it is ugly and hard to pronounce. So my whole life I've had it, and I've always wanted just a normal middle name like "Ann" or "Jane" (not necessarily these, just for example).

So usually when you get married you take your current last name and make it your middle, with the new one as your last. But if I did this, I would be stuck with ANOTHER middle name that is really a last name!

I am afraid that if I change i completely my family will think I am disrespecting them, or trying to get rid of them or something.

Would it be incredibly wierd to just change it to something else?

  • Uneven number of attendants... how do I...?

So my fiancee and I have decided that I am going to have a maid of honor and one bridesmaid, and he is just having one best man. This is not the dilemma....

We know this is the way it will be, but I am looking for someone with experience on how to handle the logistics of it all.

Also, to make is a little more complicated, the best man is in a serious relationship with my bridesmaid. I don't want to have them walk together, because I want my maid of honor to have her correct place.

If you have experience with this, please tell me how you handled it! Thanks!!

  • Are Bengal cats good pets? Do you know about their temperament?

I want one, but I already have one year old male cat in my house (very laid back and subdued), and he will probably be 3 by the time I get another cat. Do you think a Bengal cat or kitten would do well? I want an energetic cat!

  • How do I politely request formal attire of my guests at my wedding?

My family on my mother's side is... cough cough.... alittle informal in their clothing most of the time. They are a large farming family, and dressed up usually means nic-er suspenders and a not-as-crazy plaid shirt. I want to make sure they are dressed appropraitely (formally) for my wedding, honestly for their sake as much as mine. How do I politely request this in the invitation. I don't want to make it more obvious than normal, since the other side of my family, as well as my fiancee's family, are very well dressed, and will surely dress appropraitely. Is this something that I should even worry about? I am going to be the first grandchild on that side getting married, so I want to assume they will dress formally, but I cannot be sure.

  • Do you know the conditions for taking a cat overseas on an airplane?

I am bringing my wonderful kitty to Thailand next year because I am living there for a whole year. I want to fly him with me. Do you know if I will have to quaranteen him before the flight? Also, what are the conditions like on the plane for him? He is pretty strong and not nervous, but I don't want him to be traumatized! Any advice for this... thank you

  • What are your opinions on the recent proposed agreement by Iraqi insurgent forces?

Please, we don't need ranting here. I am curious as to your thought-out responses to this proposed agreement.

I am very much in the middle that I see many reasons for and against it. I think this is an issue that people of all political views can have intelligent responces to, and I am intersted in those, please.

Let's leave out rhetorical questions like "What does Bush think he is doing??" Just give your opinions, calmly, please. :)
