  • My cat ran away from the new cat?

I have an 8 year old indoor/outdoor cat. I brought home a new cat that is about a year old, and she started hissing and growling at him the moment she saw him. He hung around for the rest of the night, and then when I woke up the next morning he was gone. I've looked everywhere in the house and the yard, and I called the animal shelter. He's been gone for about 2 days. Will he come back?

  • Why do I react so weirdly to certain words?

Ever since I was small, whenever I've heard a select few words used repeatedly, like in a song, I get this weird, anxious feeling and sometimes it's even hard to breathe. They're common, everyday words like 'cottage', 'Swiss', 'group', etc. I've never ever been abused, so I shouldn't have any negative association with these words. Does anyone know why I react like this?

  • I was accused of shoplifting...but I didn't do it?

Until today I was employed at a retail store. Five days ago a manager saw me walking out after my shift carrying ONE piece of merchandise I had purchased a few hours ago ($15), and asked to see the receipt for it. I said I didn't have it and couldn't find it anywhere. Then today I was called into another manager's office, and I had to talk with the HR head of the company for theft on the phone. He eventually became very vicious and tried repeatedly to get me to tell the "truth", which I was doing. He said there was no record of me having purchased the item, not even on the cash register. I don't get how this happened, but I'm really upset by it. They made me pay for the shoes again, and now are talking about getting the police involved and "disciplinary action". I was suspended, but I am through with this company and I want to quit. I'm 21 and this was just a summer job, and I didn't do anything wrong. Will this go on my permanent record? And does anyone have any advice for what to do now?

  • I suck at math and science. How can I get a job?

I'm in college but I don't know what to major in because I am completely terrible at both math and science, and besides that I just plain don't like them and hate the idea of working in them. I love art and journalism but I've heard that it's much harder to get employed in those areas. I tried majoring in education, but that's also not my thing. What should I do?

  • Any colleges that offer both animation and journalism as majors?

I would love to pursue both...any help would be great! Thanks!

  • I've never liked a girl before but...?

I'm 21 and I have never thought of other women in a romantic sense before. I've always been attracted to men, and I've only ever dated men. But now I've met this girl who is amazing, and I think I'm interested in her romantically now. This is the first time this has EVER happened...what should I do? What can I do? Am I bisexual now?? Do people's sexual preferences change as they get older??

  • Is it worth it to try to make friends for the rest of my study abroad?

I am in London for a 3 month study abroad. I'll be leaving in mid-April, and I have yet to make any British friends here since the most easily accessible people for me to hang out with are the other Americans on the trip. I would LOVE to make British friends, and I've been trying since I've come here, but it's much harder than I expected since the student union doesn't have many organizations, and I can't make most of the ones that they do have because I'm so busy. And I've tried various churches, but most people dismiss me when they hear my accent. Do I still have time to make friends here? And if so, how? I've looked for clubs to join all over London, but my research is not encouraging...thanks!

  • Is the University of Hawaii at Manoa a good school?

I'm really interested in going into film, and UH Manoa has a program that sounds like something that might work for me. But does anyone know if this is considered to be a good school, and if alumni can get good jobs after college? (I would NOT be going there for the location, although that doesn't hurt :))

  • Should I study abroad?

I'm a junior in college, and I was planning on studying abroad in London in Spring 2012. However, I didn't see the deadlines creeping up on me. In the past few days, I picked a program, paid application fees, and can have all my materials in on time. However, they want a $500 deposit on Friday, and the program (without my financial aid applied) is over $17,000. Even with scholarships, I don't think my family has the money to send me. This will be my last chance to study abroad, because it took me a very long time to find a major and after this I want to focus completely on coursework. I will also have to transfer schools because my current school doesn't offer the major I want to pursue. Do you think I should go? My parents would probably have to take out a loan, and that doesn't feel right, but it's something I've wanted to do for forever...

  • Question about College Teacher Recommendations?

I'm going to apply to 5 schools, and I've picked 3 teachers for recommendations. I'm using the Common App Teacher Evaluation form, so should I give each teacher 5 forms (one for each college) or just 1 and let them make copies??

  • I got a horrible part in a play!!?

I had a wonderful audition, the director kept calling me up to read the lines of the comedian of the show, everyone roared with laughter and everyone thought I would get the part. Then he ended up giving me the part of a really calm, relaxed person instead of the frenzied one I'd read for, and gave that one to someone who just is not the type of person to do those lines. I don't want to sound like a whiner, but I really had my heart set on getting that part and I got a stupid one. What should I do??

  • If your mum is American but you and your dad are both Aussies, does that give you American citizenship?

I was born in Australia to my American mum and Aussie dad. I moved to Philadelphia a few months ago and I intend on living in the U.S. the rest of my life. Do I need to apply for American citizenship or do I already got it because of my mum?

  • OMG I was proposed to but I don't think we've known each other long enough?

I was proposed to by a guy a few days ago and I am really deeply in love with him BUT we've only known each other for 9/10 months, and I don't want this to end in divorce like so many marriages do. Should I wait, or say yes??

  • I don't know what I wanna do with my life & I have to decide soon?

I have to declare what my major in college is going to be, and I'm really worried about this because I am interested in TONS of things. Every time I see someone do something well, I really admire them, go online and research their career, and then I start dreaming about doing that along with a dozen other things. That's why I'm involved in so many activities for those things, and I love them all. Is there any way someone could be a marine biologist, an actress, a writer, a gymnist, a NASA scientist (and yes, I am smart enough in math to consider that), a lawyer, an animator, and a lot of other things during their life??? There are so, so many things I would like to do, and if I do decide on something and pursue it what if no one hires me?? I need to decide what I want to do with my life NOW. Please help me!!!!!!
