I have owned several boar guinea pigs in the past but bought my first sow/female on January 21st of this year from PetCo. I have not owned a guinea pig for about 10 years and never a female. I do not own any other guinea pigs. After about 4 weeks I noticed a drastic change in her midsection. And thought oh great I bought a pregnant guinea pig. I know nothing of breeding guinea pigs. It's never been my intention. Well it is now May 16th. She is very large. Nipples r large. She was seen by the vet today and her pregnancy is confirmed. It is not false and has at least 3 fetus. She is still very active. Loves attention. Eats and drinks a lot. She has not been around any guinea pigs since the day she was purchased. This would make her being 117 days into gestation IF she conceived on the day I bought her. This is way of from a max of 75 days. Average of 63-68 days. Is this even possible?? Can a female guinea pig hold sperm until its the right time to b pregnant?? I'm just confused. Vet said she is very healthy. Truely pregnant and just to watch her close. So my question is as above. Can they hold sperm for a later pregnancy or can there be a rare case of a longer gestation??? Serious answers please I am still worried about her even though I took her to the vet. I also have an emergency after hours veterinarian in case there r complications from this at night.

Just to make it short I lost my son 3 1/2 years ago at 6 1/2 months gestation after the hospital dropped my blood pressure to low to perfuse his plecenta that was half infarcred and neglected to do an emergency c-section when his pulse trended down from 154 to 76. People tell me that it will get easier with time but it seems like it hasn't. Seems like it gets worse ESP during holidays. The people telling me it will get easier or "to get over it" are people that have children or have never lost one. Or even a few have them and survived being born that young!! What makes it worsen is I had to have a hysterectomy a year later due to bad endemetriosis. So having another of my own is not an option. I have considered adoption bit I don't feel it's right to adopt until I have reached acceptance. I just feel alone. I have never met anyone that had to go through 23 hours of induced labor knowing your baby is dead and the hospital didn't even try. Again I feel alone. Has anyone ever lost a child beyond 6 months gestation?? In other words still birth.

I want a couple horse. I finally have enough property that is available for me to use. What do I need to know about buying one? I have learned about coggins and nile vaccines. I want a rideable gelding cause I have to pasture with cows and a stallion who are already on this property, and obeviously want to ride. What are some other things that I need to know about.

My babies pulse rate dropped to 90 beats per minute, after they gave me the blood pressure meds. (normal is 140) They still didn't put me on constant monitoring, they actually took me off it!! At approx 10:30pm on April 1st a nurse came in to check for the babies pulse again. She checked for a pulse for about 5 min and never found one, while still looking another nurse came in and signaled the nurse to come. So the nurse left the room with me there with the goop and all. After about 10 min my husband cleaned me up. Nobody came back until approx 11:45 Over an HOUR later even though they couldnt find his pulse. They still couldnt, that is when they called the Dr in and he confirmed the death of my Child at midnight on April 2nd. They induced my labor and 23 hours later I had a beautiful 1lb 6oz baby boy that already lived with God. What I am wondering is if I have a lawsuit against the hospital for negligence. She could not find his pulse, when the last reading was 90, she came in to check him again and without finding a pulse left the room for over an HOUR!! They could have done an emergency c-section, but since she didnt come back to confirm, and then tell the Dr until Midnight it was too late!! Do you think I have a case??

My 7lb Rat Terrier was playing with her big dog friends and leaping off furniture and just broke her front leg. This is the first little dog I have owned and Rescued her from a shelter only a week ago! I am taking her to the vet here in a couple hours when they open. Meanwhile it is splinted and she was given doggie pain meds and is sleeping on the couch. How much am I looking at to get this leg fixed, it is fractured close to the ankle, if not the ankle itself. I have never had one of my dogs break a leg!

Okay my husband installed Linux and I am trying to install an Animal Sheltering program. I installed it and now all I get is ALL the files in this program, I can not get it to run, I have no Idea what to do and I am about to blow up my computer cause at this point since I dont know how to use linux this computer is worthless!!! PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME INSTALL THIS PROGRAM WITH LINUX !!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a questions I saw on the news, I wanted to see what peoples thoughts are on it. I say YES, an armed society is a polite society! If The government restricts or bans guns to the general public the only people with guns will be the criminals, and then there will be no way to protect ourselves or property because criminals will know we are unarmed if it gets to that point, so crime will continue!!!

A collection agency has been automatically withdrawing $75 dollars a month for the last 6 months and then all of a sudden stopped taking the money and told us that we were in default and required us to pay the full amount of the debt, and also told us that we were refusing to pay, even though we were making monthly payments. Now they wont take the monthly payments cause they say we are in default, which how can we be in default if they have been taking monthly payments?? Can they do this, can they just stop taking payments and say its not enough and put us in default?? I need help or some ideas on how to deal with this issue, and paying off the debt is imposable, it is 15,000 student loan. Also since it is a student loan declaring bankrupcy is not an option

My dog, a 10mo Dalmatian, I presume has a Staph Infection, He has lesions all over his body, scabbed over ears, hair loss and itching. This all occurred in the matter of 3 days. He is on an antibiotic Cephalexin 500mg twice a day, Hes on his 5th day, I originally put him on that because he drug his neck across the ground with a bark collar on and caused a pretty good injury. The injury looks great, healing, all the swelling is gone but the Staph has just come by surprise and very quickly. I believe the Staph is from that (a source for the staff to get into) or an allergy (I did change his diet about 3 weeks ago, and added eggs for him to gain a little wait) I know what it is, but does anyone know of anything I can do for him to make him a little more comfortable until Monday, When I can call my vet???

I am 22 weeks along and getting my teeth cleaned here in a couple weeks. I am deathly afraid of dentists and needles and I am afraid I may have a cavity. My friend said that she was given nitrous oxide during her 5-6 months of pregnancy when they had to do a filling and pull one of her teeth and her ob said it was okay. Babyzone also says its okay but another webpage said to limit or avoid it? Has anyone else had Nitrous Oxide during pregnancy do any dentists on here or assistance know if it is safe to use during pregnancy if it has to be done???

I am scheduled to get a teeth cleaning, but I think I have a cavity. I dont know for sure since I have never had one. I am deathly afraid of the dentist and needles. I am 20 weeks pregnant right now with no complications and baby is healthy. This is my first pregnancy. My husband and I have planned a trip the day I am 33 weeks pregnant (any earlier we couldnt get any reservations and its to cold to go to the beach) Its a 4 1/2 to 5 hour trip to the beach. We will be staying in a condo right on the beach so we dont have to drive anymore once we get there. The condo is huge so I will be comfortable. We will be there for 3 nights and 4 days. Do you think it will be okay to travel by car at 33 weeks???

I have a couple questions, first I am 19 weeks pregnant and havnt gained a pound, my doctor isnt worried but I thought by now I would be gaining weight! Anyone experiencing little weight gain?

Another thing, my breasts were 38 DD pre-pregnancy. Now they are a 38 DDD (or F) at 19 weeks. I am needing to buy some more bras, should I buy the next size up? (38G) Will I get bigger when my milk drops??

I am 17 weeks pregnant. I was on Paxil before I got pregnant and when I found out a 4 weeks pregnant I quit cold turkey. Ever since then I have been extremely moody, angry, short tempered, emotional and and VERY depressed. This should be a happy time for me. At my appointment yesterday my OB/GYN prescribed me 150mg Wellbutirn XL a day.

I have found inconclusive information on wether it is safe during pregnancy. My Doctor insists that is is one of the safest I can be on. I have read other things like, that you need to breastfeed after (which I want to) so the baby wont have withdrawls, and then I have dont breastfeed at all or get off the med. Which I WANT TO breastfeed.

Has anyone else taken Wellbutrin while pregnant?? Are your children healthy?? Anyone have complications with Wellbutrin during pregnancy??

My Husband has red hair and brown eyes which is very rare, in genetic terms. I am blond hair and blue eyes. Both red hair and blonde hair are recessive. Brown eyes are dominant over blue eyes. Blond hair and brown eyes is VERY rare and another occurrence of red hair and brown eyes to the offspring is even rarer than the fact the father has it. What color do you think the childs hair and eyes will be? His parents were brown/brown and black brown. my parents are blonde/green and brown/blue. I dont care what my child has I am just interested in the genetics here. I am guessing brown/brown

I just found out that I am pregnant with my first kid. I am almost 5 weeks along and I am experiencing alot of moderate to severe cramping as if I am going to start a bad period. I am not spotting or bleeding. I am just wondering if it is normal to cramp so bad in the early weeks of pregnancy?? And has anyone else experienced that while they were pregnant?

The cramping is not severe where I feel like I am dieing, Its like bad period cramps. It has not been a sudden onset it has been going on and off for about a week. Oh and I know I have bilateral ovarian cysts could that have anything to do with it???
