    How bad are my cavities?

  • I can feel the fissures on my third molar. Should I be concerned?

It's the third molar on the right side of my teeth. And it's shrinking for some reason, and I can feel a couple of fissures on that tooth. I am worried this tooth will decay. Often times when I open my jaw I hear a crack.  Pretty sure I lost my wisdom tooth and there was intense pain on the right side of my jaw for a couple of days back in May. Now I fear this neighboring tooth is next. Is it too late to save my third molar?

  • Did the Cavs win the 2016 NBA Finals, or did the Warriors blow it?

I mean, the Warriors had a 3-1 lead.

  • If you pursue a major in public health, are you more likely to find a job in the city or in the suburbs/rural areas when you graduate?

I am trying to figure this out because my dad told me this. He told me that it's better to find a job in pharmacology than public health or nursing. He explained that it's more likely to find public health jobs away from the city rather than in the city, and nursing jobs are more for women, although they're fairly good. However, he said that it's best to be a pharmacologist. Is he correct?

  • Would Islamic State terrorism or pro-Islamic State terrorists be acceptable terms rather than Trump's remarks about Islamic terrorism?

I think it is inappropriate to use Islamic or Muslim terrorism as a term because it has a negative connotation behind it. You sound like you are attacking the religion or the people who believe in that religion when you make that reference, but I think it is okay to use Islamic State terrorism because terrorism was created by the Islamic State, or Islamic State of Iraq and Levant. Pro-Islamic State terrorists refer to terrorists who support Islamic State's terrorism. I don't think all Islamic State members are terrorists because some might have been forced to participate or were forced into sex slavery. But those who are for Islamic State follow its orders by committing terrorist acts. Does this term clarify the controversy surrounding so-called Islamic terrorism, and do you think that the terms I've adopted are not racist and in fact are truthful?

  • My mom doesn't seem to be encouraging of my ACT scores. Help?

Yesterday I took a practice ACT at a test prep school in Southern California and today I found out that I got a 29 on the test. I am currently attending an ACT boot camp and we take tests every Monday, and this is the fifth time in six weeks I have taken it. So there's testing every Monday at this boot camp, and I went to it in the beginning of the second week. 29 is a three-point increase from the diagnostic test I took before enrollment in the boot camp and is a 6-point increase from the first test I took during my second week. I felt pretty good about myself, and I've been planning to aim for a 34 on the ACT. BTW, I am a 16 year old high schooler who's about to go into junior year, and I feel that I've made progress on my testing skills. Yet when I came home today the only encouragement my mom gave was that it's good to see that I am making progress. She asked me whether or not I felt I got a 29 because the test was easy for me and whether or not I felt that the score was a representation of my ability. She even went on to suggest that I should calibrate my progress based on the next two practice I take before the conclusion of the camp, because this score could be an anomaly. I was not happy with the way she was talking to me. In fact, before I told her about my score, she said that the assistant director of the test prep school told her that I need the most improvements in science.

  • My mom said that she thinks that God exists because she exists. Is this a sign that she might be arrogant and narcissistic?

I was surprised by my mom's answer because my 6 year old brother was talking something about God, and I said to him that he exists because God exists. I meant that he is a Creation of God, so in order for him to exist, God would have to exist too. God created not just him, but any human being on Earth. I believe that every human being is a representation of God. This is what I believe in because I go to a Catholic high school. Now here comes my mom, who doesn't really have an interest in religion and doesn't hold an important view towards God. It's okay for anyone to not believe in God, because I understand that God is a loving, compassionate, and accepting, but somehow I feel uncomfortable when someone places him/herself above God. So my mom says that she actually thinks the opposite-she thinks that God exists because she exists. Okay, she doesn't have to hold a high opinion about God, and I know she has the right to express how she feels, but I am afraid that such a belief kind of makes her arrogant and narcissistic. Does this belief characterize her as placing herself above God, and is she really an arrogant or narcissistic person when she said this?

  • Is Stephen Curry in a slump?

It feels like ever since that Spurs game something went wrong with his shooting, and he still hasn't recovered from it. What the hell happened to him?

  • Do Curry's struggles tonight against the Spurs justify what the retired NBA players have been saying?

Former NBA players have kept saying that Steph Curry is overrated because he would be unable to handle the league's defense two decades ago if he were to be like this. Tonight the Spurs harassed Curry with stellar defense. Do you think those old players were right? Some fans didn't think so because they thought the retired players were just confused by Curry's success, but tonight was different. A bunch of Spurs locked down Curry. Does this mean that Curry can't handle the 95-96 Bulls and that the Warriors will lose to that team in a 7-game series? Is the 1-12 shooting from three point range an indicator of his struggles, flaws, and weaknesses, or is it just one game? I mean Golden State had two key players out, so they had a depleted lineup, not to mention that they were on the end of a back-to-back. Is it true that the modern NBA defense is quite weaker than it used to be? Will Curry be able to adjust? I think Warriors can still win with Steph Curry not at his best because it was a close game that went down to the wire. They almost had a chance, but will Curry have a repeat of last year's NBA Finals in this year's playoffs?

  • Is there a direct correlation between selfishness and racism?

So every human being is inherently selfish and racist....and the selfish people I know are racist, and the racist people I know are selfish. Is there a correlation between these two? How come there hasn't been a research essay that describes the relationship between selfishness and racism? I once read an article that said selfish greed wipes out racism, but I didn't see any article online that described the connection between them. Thoughts? Any psychological explanations to this?

  • How is my ACT score going to look like in a year and a half from now?

So I got an 18 on my freshman year Explore test and a 22 on the PLAN test. I am currently a sophomore. The PLAN results just came out yesterday and I got a 22 in English, a 24 in Math, a 21 in Reading, a 22 in Science, and a composite score of 22. The test was easy overall, but in order for me to have made 9 errors in Math and English, respectively, and 6 in Reading and Science, respectively, I must have committed some stupid mistakes that I didn't even realize. This is just an average score, because it puts me in the range of 24-25 when I take the ACT next year, and I would feel really bad about that if 25 was my score. I took a practice ACT test this summer and got a 24 on it. I am trying to aim for a 30+ on my ACT, but with the scores that I am getting right now, I might never be able to get out of the 20s range. I am planning to take two hard SAT subject tests next month(Math 1 and Literature), but with the way I have been performing, isn't it going to be difficult for me to get high scores on those difficult tests? I have an official College Board practice book on SAT Subject Tests Mathematics Levels 1 and 2 and a Kaplan SAT Subject Test: Literature practice book. Anyways, I am digressing. Can I make a huge jump from a 22 on PLAN to a 32-34 on the ACT in the spring of 2017? And if so, how much studying will I need to have? I dream of getting a 36, but I just don't think that's possible at all for me, but I am aiming for a score that is above 30. Help, please?
