  • Owner of car didn't check anything under mileage on title?

I recently bought a car and have to get the title transferred. I just noticed the previous owner didn't check anything for " to the best of my knowledge the odometer is" actual mileage. Is that going to be a problem when I take it in to get titled? What do I do?

  • Crunching noise when going over potholes? Lower control arm?

I m getting my car checked out now. Guy says it s the lower control arm, which I already knew we re bad. But my question is if that can be the cause of the crunching noise when going over potholes or if that s gonna be another problem. I recently had the struts and sway bar end link replaced too

  • Midas left the oil cap off after an oil change, should my car be okay?

I went to get my oil changed today. On my drive home--about 12 minutes-- I smelled somewhat of an exhaust smell from the vents. After the car cooled down I popped the hood and the oil lid was off. There was a little bit of oil on the hood but not much and I checked the oil level and it's still full. I'm assuming it should be fine but I'm not sure.

  • Should I be worried about buying a car with a lot of new parts from a private dealer?

I was looking at this 03 Camry for sale with 121,000 miles for 3300 from a private seller. The craigslist page advertises "new tires, steering wheel couples, transmission oil, oil pan, gasket." I'm questioning why someone would put all that into the car just to sell it unless something else major happened that they don't want to fix.

  • Opinions on 2006 Ford Fusion SE?

Looking at a 2006 Ford fusion SE with 110k miles for 5k. Gonna go look at it, but I come from. GM family and the only Ford cars I know anything about are panther platform cars. I know a lot of people drive fusions but how are they? Only really concerned with reliability

  • Should I buy this car?

I've been looking lately. I'm looking at a 2002 Grand Prix with 77,000 miles on it for 2900 (with my trade in at the dealership it will be 2400). I use to have a grand am and I liked that but that one has 230000 miles on it when I got rid of it. I'm looking for something a little cheaper that'll last a few years. My friend told me the 3800 motors never die, but I've never driven a grand prix to know enough about it. Just looking for more opinions. Going to do a quick inspection on it Monday and considering asking them to hold it and buying it on Friday.

  • What is wrong with my ignition? Steering wheel locking when car is on?

I had my ignition switch replaced a bit ago and I cannot take it back because the place I went to to have it fixed is over 100 miles away (I moved in the last few weeks). So here's the problem:

I can get the ignition to turn no problem, and it starts the car and everything as it should. But if I turn my steering wheel to the left, then to the right, there is a loud clicking noise like the steering wheel is trying to lock (and there have been times it has locked). What is going on with it?

  • Can you haggle on the price of a cheap used car?

I'm looking at going to a dealership tomorrow to look at a pretty cheap car for 4,000. I always see videos of people saying "this is how you haggle on a used car" and then finance a 20,000 dollar car. Can you still haggle on a cheaper car?

  • Is the 2008 Saturn Aura a good car?

I'm having problems with my current car and I'm looking to buy a new but cheap one to last me a few years. There was a 2008 Saturn Aura I saw for sale with 128,000 miles for 3.5 k. I do not drive a lot. I think I put something like 7000 miles on my current car over the last two years. From what I've read online, it seems like it's a generally reliable car (though generally I have heard negative things about other Saturn cars). But I admit to not knowing a lot about Saturn's. Is the 2008 Aura typically considered reliable?

  • Buying a 2003 Grand Marquis?

I'm looking at buying a used car. Right now I drive a 97 Corolla with less than 100k miles but there are some safety concerns with it that make me scared to drive it much longer, so I'm looking at a 2003 Grand Marquis. It's listed at 4k with 116,000 miles at the dealer. I know these cars are known for intake manifold issues, but did they change it by that time? Do you think this sounds like a good car? Obviously I have to test drive it and look for defects, but what do you think?

  • When should I do a follow-up call on a resume?

I usually have 3 days after submitting the application, but I have been told recently seen people say a week to ten days.

  • Do I have nerve damage in my foot?

So a while ago I had a soccer injury. I went to the hospital and had X-rays and they told me it was just a sprain. But now I'm kinda wondering if I have nerve damage. If I scratch the muscle that connects the leg to the foot (around the peronius tertius) the side of my foot (on the side of my big toe) has a numbing sensation.

  • Do I have a chance of getting into my dream graduate school?

I am hoping to either get into the University of Michigan or Northwestern. From looking at U of M's typical acceptance, they typically allow 18/400 students in my field a year. Usually these students have a 3.71 GPA.

As for me, I finished at my University with a 3.62 GPA and a 3.84 GPA in my major classes. On top of this I have presented at many conferences and have won best undergraduate paper at an international conference this semester. I was a member of student government for two years and I am a member of the national honor society in my field.

I have still yet to take the GRE (I am studying for it over the summer) and I am working on my writing sample now.

I have posted many questions like this before, but I am just extremely nervous.

  • Do graduate schools differentiate between general GPA and field GPA?

So I'm freaking out just a little bit. When I first started at school, my community college GPA was far from good. However, I really buckled down when coming to university. I'm thinking I may have gotten a few B+'s this semester, which may drop my GPA to around 3.65. However, my GPA in classes in my field is about 3.8. I'm still upset that I will only graduate *** laude, but I am freaking out that I will not get into a good grad school.

I am hoping that my good in field GPA will help. Beyond that, l have presented at many conferences and won best undergraduate paper at a recent international conference held at my university (a paper I plan to improve some more and send as my writing sample). I am starting to study for my GRE now so I can score well, but as of this point I do not know how I will score.

But, in the end, I am really freaking out that I will not get into a good grad program because of the B+'s I got in classes not in my field... But maybe I'm overthinking this a little? What do others think? Are my academic achievements enough to get me into a decent grad school or am I right to be as worried as I am?

  • What is Mortar Board Honor Society (College)?

I feel like every other week I m getting requests to join all of these different honor societies. Most of them I know are pretty much scams, but this is the first time I ve heard of Mortar Board. I belong to Phi Alpha Theta (National History Honor Society) because it is related to my major, but I tend to avoid the random "leadership honor society" requests I keep getting. Is Mortar Board just another waist of time honor society?

  • Do graduate schools care about cumulative GPA or just the GPA of your core classes?

I'm a history major, going to be applying to graduate schools soon. There was a class in my minor that if figured would be super easy so I kinda let it slip a bit and got a C. My cumulative GPA should still fall within 3.6 to 3.7 range in the end, but that has me worried for a few schools I'm looking at. My GPA in my related field, however, has remained at 3.9. I know it's not all about GPA for grad school admissions. However, I still am concerned. Should I email someone in these grad schools admissions to ask them what they think?

  • Do I have a mental condition if I...?

I was just thinking about this today. Sometimes I pretend to be asleep when I'm around friends so I can hear what people think about me, because I feel hated. Is that strange behavior? I'm not sure if it really is or not.

  • Should I get a Phlebotomy certificate while working toward my bachelors?

I am not looking for this to be my end career. But to be able to find a quick decent paying job while I'm working toward my BS in history. I was considering taking a nine week training course in phlebotomy at a local community college (I currently go to the University in the same city), to get a job (I go have a job now, but it's a minimum wage job and I'm constantly fearing being able to pay rent) while finishing be BS (I'll be a senior at the end of the Fall semester). Then I would either continue doing that as a job while I work through grad school, or get a TA position if I can. What does everyone else think? Could that work?

  • Is a normal distribution applicable to this situation?

I'm a history major, working on my capstone. It's been a while since I've done stats, but I think I'm using it right.

Basically, I wanted to know how far a state deviated from the mean in an election. So I found the mean and the standard deviation and plotted them on a normal distribution.
