  • What's the disadvantage of Android 4.4 vs Android 5.0?

I have just purchased a Cubot x9 and awaiting delivery.

This phone comes with Android 4.4 but I understand the latest version is Android 5.0 and I am wondering if I will be limited in terms of what I can do and apps I will be able to download.

What does the update really mean other than changing the look/battery life and will there be a whole heap of new apps I cant use?

FYI The phone specs are quite high (2gb ram and octa core processor) so should run most programs.

  • Toshiba laptop screen problem?

I have a Toshiba satelight l500 1d3 and it just has a blank white screen as soon as you turn it on. There are faint dark lines going vertically down which move slightly. I have plugged it into the TV via HDMI and screen is fine on there so doesn't seem to be a problem with the laptop. I have replaced the ribbon cable and this has not helped. Any suggestions?

    Thanks

  • Help with signal problem with my Samsung tv.?

    Hello,

Whilst watching normal TV the screen goes black and I lose sound completely for about 1 second every minute or so. Obviously really annoying and wondering if anyone has experienced this or have any advice on fixing?

I don't think it is a problem with the TV as I can still use the HDMI port and use my computer on the screen with no problems. Also the menu doesn't disappear when the screen goes out if I have opened it while watching.

When it goes out the "bit error level spikes to 10" when it is at zero normally and the signal goes from full to empty.

Had this problem a few weeks ago (during the Olympics which was annoying) but it went away after a day or so, now it has been doing it for a week and not got any better.

I live in an apartment so don't really have access to the dish but have tried changing my aerial into the wall but it didn't help. Also reset the TV and re scanned all the channels.

Would appreciate some help and will defo give 10 points :)

    Thanks.

  • Convert 5.1 RCA cable to coaxial or optical?

    Hiya,

I have just got some Xenta xts-5800 speakers and they have a 6 RCA phono cables which represent each speaker. The woofer acts as the amp and has no other ports for a dolby digital coaxial or optical cable. I understand you can buy a converter or get a blueray/dvd player which has the 6 RCA inputs but have no idea where to find them. Anyone got any more information on what I can do or where I can get a converter?

    Thanks

  • Insurance for new driver?

My friend is fully comp and wants to put me on their insurance as it is free to do so.

I passed my test a few months ago but haven't driven since so I haven't crashed or have any claims or anything.

I will only drive the car in emergencies say if they cant drive for whatever reason.

If I do this will my insurance cost be lower when I eventually get my own car? And if they crash will that affect my insurance in future?

    Thanks.

  • Are my Sony Speakers broken?

One of my Sony SS-A20 seems to have just conked out. I can still hear the tweeter (really quiet) but the bottom (bigger speaker woofer thing) has no sound coming out of it.

I have checked the connections and they all seem intact.

They are about 20 years old so it might just be old age?

I'm wondering if there is anything that can be done simply to fix them?

The second speaker still works pefectly.

    Thanks.

The two main speakers on my 5.1 wharfdale system sound really muted even when I turn the volume up. I think they may have blown but could there be another problem which would be fixable?

  • Problem with wireless router?

I have a BT router which works fine but I am trying to extend the range by connecting another router (different model) by ethernet cable a little distance away.

When I connect them the second router will only let me connect to the internet through the Ethernet cable.

When I try to use the wireless it asks me for a password and so I enter the one I got with the BT router and it doesn't work.

Do all routers have a different password when broadcasting a wireless signal?

    Should I try another router?

  • Desktop speakers rattling problem?

I bought some new desktop speakers yesterday but managed to break them and so got a new set today.

The old ones worked really well and sound was very clear at every volume.

But the right speaker in the new ones has this horrible rattling noise at a certain volume and pitch and i'm wondering if it is worth taking them back for a third time or can they be fixed by tightening the screws or something?

I keep getting letters saying that the electric company are going to shut off the power (in the lower floors which i dont use very often) as no-one is using it but haven't told me when yet. Do they give an exact date or do they just turn it off one day?

Also how long does it take to re-activate it? Is it a case of a simple switch or do they have to come round and re-wire or something??
