Do they get paid in Canadian Tire money? 

Was it awkward when the three wise men gave gifts to Jesus and two of them basically brought incense and one brought gold? I don't remember for sure but i kind of recall somebody making a comment in Sunday school about how the one magi got a way more expensive gift because he didn't consult the others and it was the most uncomfortable birth of a spiritual figure ever!

I have a lot of female friends who work as bartenders/servers who find it rude and sexist when men call then demeaning terms (ie baby, hun, sweety sexy). I am not a woman so I do not proclaim to fully understand what it would be like to live with something like that.

However I have recently been noticing that when I am a patron at a bar, particularly when I grab a bar side stool, female bartenders/servers will ask questions like 'how are ya babe' or 'can i get you anything sweety' practically everytime they address me.

I am not trying to raise a question of double standards or make a comparison of how often these types of situations occur between men vs woman.

What i am curious about is where the societal idea that something can on the one hand be considered rude but on the other considered benign.

Idealy the quick answer is that there is an entire history and stigma behind the issue. However it can also be said that to assesss someone's intent in making such a comment in either case (gal or fella saying it) would indicate that we have a bias againt the person based on their gender rather than assessing them as an individual.

I'm interested in understanding a variety of social interactions and so I'm curious to hear a few diffetent points of view. Thanks

Why is such a big deal being made about his death? I know he is Celine Dion's husband... But why is his death getting such media play? I cant turn on the tv or radio without heating about and today the entire funeral is being televised.

I dont mean to sound insensitive I am only trying to understand the gravity of the situation . To be honest I had barely ever heard ofnhim before this event.

The hour glass that comes with the game seems to have gotten some moisture in it and gets clogged at the middle... Thus I have to rely on using a stop watch during the marine turn. Roughly how long does the hour glass run for so I know what to set the stop watch for? Thanks for your help.

Is that racist?

So a few days ago I was running a program on my laptop and it just gave me one of those "not responding" errors. I tried to give it some time but the system completely hung up.

Every time I've rebooted the system since then I've had the following steps happen:

1) Regular gateway start up screen

2) Black Screen for 5-10 minutes

3) Loading windows screen for 15-20 minutes

4) black screen with windows mouse cursor (I can move the cursor but nothing else)

5) windows 7 choose your account screen ---> select your account ----> hangs up for about 10 mins

6) gateway default wallpaper loads up (not the wallpaper I usually have) mouse cursor is active but I can't do anything else (no icons, can't left click, can't ctrl-alt-delete) ----> like this for about 30 - 45 mins

7) icons finally load and so does start menu but anything I do (ie opening a program or trying to use task bar options) only work after about 15 or so minutes of clicking on them

I have no idea what has happened.... I've run the multiple virus and malware checks I have on my system (which as you can imagine from the above description, have taken forever to execute) but the checks come up with 0 malware 0 viruses... I am not even connected to the internet at home.

Any ideas? btw... my cd drive is shot so I can't use my bootdisks :(

I'm running windows 7 and the program I was running before the crash was and NES emulator that I have used many many times for hours with no problems.

Can somebody please help me understand the process applying for second career? At least the first couple of steps. I have tried to research this on my own but it seems that government websites have mastered the art of vaguery, broken-dead links and misinformation. Thank you.

I made a simple picture as a .png file in paint and want to enlarge it. So far I've been working on a smaller scale and then doubling the size to see how it looks (because I want the final version to be twice the size). Essentially its 2 files one that is 684x384, (the file I am drawing in), and finally the enlarged version at twice the size. Whenever I enlarge there has been no blurriness until today :( Why is this suddenly happening.

I think the computer should be capable of producing the larger file without blur and my logic for thinking this is simply that when I zoom in (zoom to 200%), the picture looks fine, no blur. At 200% this would be the same thing I should be looking at when I increase the size by 200%.... so why is the computer capable of showing me twice the size in zoom with no blur but incapable of reproducing a picture that is 200% bigger.... the 200% zoom in should look exactly like the 200% enlarge right???

I've also tried using photoshop and I get the same problem.
