  • How Does One Pay Off Negative Equity?

We are considering selling our house but are concerned we may be left in negative equity. If this is the case, how would we be expected to pay the balance? Would it have to be repaid immediately in one chunk, or would we pay it off monthly, like a loan?

    UK only please.

  • Why Can't People Spell "Pus"?

It's really annoying me. Every piercing question I read asks about "puss". Puss is another name for a cat. Pus is white blood cells from an infected wound.

Glad we've cleared that one up now.

  • Anyone Know a Good Tooth Whitener?

I'd like to whiten my teeth at home as I've recently noticed they aren't looking exactly... sparkly! I suspect my former years of being a smoker and latter years of being a coffee drinker may be catching up with me! Does anyone have any experience of tooth whitening kits and any good ones?

  • Can Anyone Tell Me About These Orbs? (pic included)?

This photo was taken at a friends wedding recently. It was in an old Tithe Barn and when I looked back at the pictures there were these really clear orbs in it. I've had a similar pic in a house I used to live in that was haunted, but nothing as detailed as this. Does anyone know anything about orbs in photos?

  • Party Venue in Pompey?

We're looking for a venue to hire for a joint 30th birthday party. We'll be theming it Rocky Horror and want a good venue in Portsmouth (England) where there is a paying bar and we can bring our own dj. There'll be about 100 of us. We don't want to use spinnaker Tower as another friend had her 30th there and we don't want to copy! Any ideas please?

  • I Just Rescued a Bird from my Cats...?

I just saw my cats hovering about the hedge in the garden and dashed out to find them terrorising a bird out there. I managed to extract it (it couldn't get away in the long grass) and all tendons are showing in the back of it's neck and I think some of it's tail feathers are missing. I didn't want to examine too closely as it was so scared anyway. There doesn't seem to be any damage at all on it's body and it's very much alive. I have it in a dark box by the boiler at the moment but I wanted to know if anyone thinks it has a chance or if I should let my husband "deal" with it. I'd hate for it to suffer unnecessarily but if it has a chance of survival I'd like to try and help it. It looks like it's an adult thrush or similar size.

    Thanks.

  • Anyone Know a Good Quality Leaflet Printer in the UK?

I need to get some leaflets and business cards printed for my small business, but I don't really want to go ordering 5000 from a company I've never heard of! Does anyone know (from experience) of any decent quality online printers?

    Thanks.

  • Do They Ship or Fly Horses to the Olympics?

My husband and I were just watching the dressage and wondering if they fly or ship the horses over. We thought flying is quicker, but more pressure (literally) for them, and shipping is slower but they could get excercise en route. Does anyone know?

  • My Mum has swollen, painful feet and legs, she has type 2 diabetes?

Does anyone know if this is something we should be very worried about? She is going to see her Dr on Wednesday but I wonder if she should go sooner than that. She has had diabetes for a couple of years and is medication controlled - the swelling started a few days ago and last night she needed the loo frequently in the night and could barely walk her legs were so swollen and sore... any experience anyone?

  • One for the Stay at Home Mums!?

A man came home from work and found his three children outside, still in their pyjamas, playing in the mud, with empty food boxes and wrappers strewn all around the front garden.

The door of his wife's car was open, as was the front door to the house and there was no sign of the dog. Proceeding into the entry, he found an even bigger mess. A lamp had been knocked over, and the throw rug was wadded against one wall. In the front room the TV was loudly blaring a cartoon channel, and the family room was strewn with toys and various

    items of clothing.

In the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, breakfast food was spilled on the counter, the fridge door was open wide, dog food was spilled on the floor, a broken glass lay under the table, and a small pile of sand was spread by the back door.

He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of clothes, looking for his wife. He was worried she might be ill, or that something serious had happened.

  • Does anyone know about the Lighterlife diet?

I did it before, a few years ago, but wasn't really in the right mindset for it. I'm thinking of giving it a try again but I'm currently breastfeeding and want to know if it's compatible with that or if I should wait till my little one is off the breast. If anyone knows I'd be grateful...

  • Americans Using "Sir" & "Ma'am"?

I think this is such a nice tradition, we should adopt it here in the UK. I always find "Madam"" slightly patronising and insulting for some reason, but a while back a lad working in a bar called me "Ma'am" and it really stood out as being polite. I especially like the respect it shows towards parents. What do you all think?

  • Could My Cat Still Have Kittens Inside?

She had 3 this morning (one stillborn) and this is her 2nd pregnancy. We were expecting more this time round (she had 4 healthy ones last time) and she looks a little round still. Could she still have some kittens to come (perhaps from a different male)?

  • Does My Car Have ISOFIX?

Hi all, I have an 03plate 2003 Vauxhall Meriva Design and am trying to find out if I have ISOFIX for a child seat. I've just been out to have a look and there are two square metal "loops" down the back of the seat cushion, but to be honest I'm not sure what I'm looking for. Does anyone have the same model or know if they come as standard? Any help greatly appreciated before I go and spend a small fortune on a baby seat!

  • Eat When You're Hungry or Eat at Regular Mealtimes?

I'm trying to change the way I eat/live etc in order to lose weight. I don't want to go on a diet as I don;t believ they work. For the last week I have cut out snacks and reduced my portion sizes at mealtime (I've been starving!) but I'm now finding that it comes to lunchtime, and I'm just not hungry! My question is, what's better for you, to eat at lunch regardless of hunger, or to wait until you're hungry (which could be 3-4pm) and subsequently not eat dinner till 9pm (which doesn't fit in with the family anyway)

  • Are these haemmoroids?

Slightly embarrassing question, but I've been in "discomfort" all day and having just had a bath and taken a look, I think I might have a haemorrhoid. It looks like something (like a little lump) has sort of popped out of my bottom, and it has a little black bit on the top of it! I'm 7 months pregnant so I wouldn't be surprised if this is what it is. Does anyone know how to deal with this as I've not experienced it before!

  • potato vs basmati rice?

I have this idea that substituting potato for basmati rice at meal times will help me to lose weight, but I can't remember why I think that! Am I right? And why?! I am doing other things like not snacking and smaller portion sizes, as well us upping my exercise. I'm basically trying to change my lifestyle, instead of going on a diet.

  • Eosinophillic superficial dermititis?

Does anyone have any experience of this or the best way to treat the associated sores? My cat has a large, raw sore on the top of his head, one on his front paw and one on each back paw, as well as several scabs under the fur at other sites. He also has one which is weeping on the inside part of his ear. He doesn't seem in pain as such, but they are bleeding and weeping and I just wondered if anyone knew of any good washes I can use? Googling hasn't really brought up anything useful. Before someone helpful says "take him to the vet" - I already have, and am taking him back again in the week.
