  • Will taking advil make my mood better?

When I am extremely sad I take a few advils. I can't tell if they help or not. I took 3 to see if that would make my mood any better. Do you think it will help?

This isn't like an around the clock thing. I think it's been months since I've even had advil, and that was for a headache.

I'm interested in getting these, but when you take them out, do the holes look particularly bad? I was curious.

  • So, do Rastafarians view Haile Selassie as (other) Christians view Jesus?

I'm not quite sure how to word this question, and I won't be until someone answers. Basically, is the Rastafarian belief that the former emperor is the Christ, rather than Jesus as the Christ? If so, then how is any of the New Testament compatible with their beliefs?

This is not meant to be offensive. I was just very curious about their beliefs.

  • Was this freshman being too bold?

Okay, I know both parties. A guy (we'll call George) and a girl (we'll call Jamie.) Well, George took a liking to Jamie. Jamie, being a junior and all, was a bit embarrassed. When all the kids get out from school and mill around for 15-20 minutes, he just started hanging around our group (because he was carpooling with a guy) but he kind of gravitated toward her. She felt it kind of weird, for obvious reasons, and the rest of the group did too, so they started calling him her freshman creeper. Anyway, one night, we were all at a school game, and all of a sudden he tells his carpool friend that he wants to get Jamie's number. Now of course, everyone thinks this is real funny and they push the two together, enclose them, practically force them to talk. He "puts on his moves" and asks, and Jamie, not trying to be rude or embarrass the guy more, gives it to him. At this point everyone's keekeeing all around them, and I think the freshman finally becomes embarrassed enough to move somewhere else.So far, I don't think they've texted or anything, but I get the sense that he feels a bit awkward now, since he now chooses to sit away from the group, even if his other freshman friends are with us.

If you wonder why they're hanging out with freshmen, it's because it's after school for a few minutes in the car waiting area, and the kids who are carpooling stay together.

So, do you guys think the freshmen was being too bold in going after an upperclassman only a week into school? Or do you (also) think the other people were being especially cruel, or maybe just being regular goofy high school kids? I have my own feelings about it.

  • How can I discuss rhinoplasty with my mother?

TL;DR Is there anything else you can think of that I can say to my mother that would convince her of scheduling a consultation for rhinoplasty?

I've decided to get rhinoplasty within the next two years. I'd like to get it sooner rather than later, but for that to happen I'll need the financial support of my parents. In the past, they said they were down with anything that I felt I needed to do to improve the quality of my life, but I know this was a front.

More recently I've tried to talk to my mother about it, and she usually shuts down and refusing to say anything about how she feels. The first time I discussed it, just generally, she wouldn't even listen to my reasons, instead spouting off every negative thing she's heard about it. Not only medical concerns, but things like, "You''ll become addicted to plastic surgery."

I then showed her a website that answered all of her questions. She said okay, but when I asked how she felt about it, she wouldn't respond. I got her to call the place and ask about the consultation, but for certain reasons we decided not to go there.

Now I've found a place that I do want to go to. She was in a good mood and wanted to spend time with me, but when I tried to show her the website, she once again shut down, only this time, she actually became angry at me. I asked her to look at the website tomorrow and discuss it, but I kept saying things like, "and you won't just shut down and not talk" or "promise to actually look at it tomorrow instead of just pushing it aside like you usually do" because I'm tired of her ignoring the things I think are important. She then said she didn't agree with all this, but once again, she wouldn't explain why, just shut down and got angry. I left after she promised to "discuss looking at the website," but I have a feeling that she will shut down again.

I have an idea of what I'd like to say to her, such as the confidence, self-esteem, and social issues I have because of my nose, and how I feel that this procedure, if successful, would make me feel better about myself and not loathe leaving the house each day. Also, that if I did not get my desired results, I wouldn't have much to lose, since my nose is already pretty bad. I'll also share with her again all the research I've done into this. My concern is that she still won't listen, and we'll all have to go back to family counseling and discuss this issue with a person that may not agree with rhinoplasty and wouldn't help my mother to listen to what I'm saying.

  • When and how can I take my cartilage piercing put?

I got my upper ear done on the last Saturday of May, and I wanted to change it today. I was wondering if this is too soon or not. Also, I don't know exactly how to take it out. It's a flat back, like a flat metal circle.

  • Rhinoplasty in high school from the view of a highschooler and a parent?

I was interested in getting rhinoplasty, and there is no changing my mind about it. Please don't tell me to just love myself or that my nose probably isn't that bad or anything like that, I do love myself, but my nose is really that bad. It has already been decided that I will be getting a nose job within the next three years, the only question is when.

My mother doesn't want me to get it in high school, and her only reasoning is, "I don't want you to be a part of the plastic-surgery addicts of America" or "I don't want to be on the news for letting my daughter get a nose job in high school" and I know that she's covering up her real reasons. The reason is not money, as we are financially secure. I don't think she realizes the extent of the problem, how much people constantly bother me about it, or how emotionally troubling it is for me.

Initially I thought I could wait until the end of high school, but it becomes more and more difficult each day, especially since I don't understand the reasons my mom will not let me have the procedure done.

I would appreciate it if someone could give me their views from the point of a peer and the point of a parent.

  • Septo-rhinoplasty in high school?

Interested in getting septo-rhinoplasty, which is nose surgery for both breathing and beauty improvement. At this point, I'm more than likely to get it the summer before college. But what if I got it done this summer? It would DEFINITELY improve my breathing, but I'm positive people will say I just did it for beauty, which wouldn't necessarily bother me that much. I just wanted to know other opinions on it. I'm cleared for it, by the way, it's just a matter of deciding when to get it.

I'm also having a necessary foot surgery this summer and the date is set. The foot surgery would put me in the house all summer. If I were to get it, would it be better to get it around the same time as the foot surgery, so I can be mostly healed up by the time school starts? The foot surgery I'm getting will definitely be completely healed by the time school starts, but I know that the complete end result of a nose surgery won't show up for about a year.

  • Electrolysis or Laser hair removal on hands?

Hi, I was looking into getting permanent hair removal on my hands (and upper lip when I get older and need it) and I was wondering which one is best for hands? I'm black, by the way, and I hear the lasers will target the melanin in my skin as well, so that could cause problems. I also heard that electrolysis takes many visits and is more painful. However, I would also have to return for my treatment for laser hair removal also.

I was just wondering which one would be best for hands? Can you compare them to which treatment takes longest/more visits, which treatment is more painful, which one cost less, which one is more permanent, and the like? Thanks.

  • What is considered a valid ID?

I need a valid ID, but I do not have a driver's license. I have a school ID and my social security card and my birth certificate, but I'd rather nor use those. I will if I have to though. What exactly is considered a valid ID?

  • What are these fruit balls?

I went to a place called the Red Mango and got a cup of ice cream yogurt stuff, and I put some little yellow and pink balls in there that I believe are some kind of fruit. When I ate them, they would burst in my mouth and they tasted sweet. What are these things called, and where can I get some?

  • Any Spongebob Squarepants video games for Wii or PS3?

I used to LOVE Spongebob Battle for Bikini Bottom and Spongebob the Movie, but since my PS2 broke and the company sent me another faulty one, I just use my PS3 and Wii now. Are they any good Spongebob games as fun as those out right now?

  • How to get inspiration to write stories?

I love writing stories for personal enjoyment, but I can't think of any ideas. I like to write adventure/romance/fantasy stories, but I'm having a difficult time coming up with something original and not too far fetched. I have a few old ideas, but looking back, they seem to outrageous and difficult to tie together. They also seem cliche. Should I just write through these old ideas and hope for new ideas as I write? Do you have any idea of how to get inspiration?

  • Do you believe in the friend zone?

I always hear people complaining that they got stuck in the friend zone, but this never makes sense to me. I've had a few relationships where we were best friends for a while, even years, then it became a relationship. Sometimes, we just went back to being friends. I don't get what people mean by friend zone. I've always thought a person was either attracted from the beginning and didn't act on it, or was just not attracted.

So, can someone kind of explain this whole deal to me so I can have a few other opinions?
