  • Misunderstood birth control instructions?

I just got a prescription for the pill, but I misunderstood my doctor's instructions. I thought I was supposed to start the pills on the Sunday after my period, so I didn't start the pills last Sunday because I was on my period. But now I find out that I got it wrong, I was supposed to start the pills the first Sunday after the START of my period, not the end.

I'm not sure what to do now, I've already taken a pill. Should I keep taking them? Should I stop?

  • Can using too much soap in the shower hurt the septic system?

If I use way more soap than usual in the shower, can it hurt a septic system, or is it too little to matter? It's regular (non-antibacterial) bar soap. Should I be worried about this?

  • What were the goals of the Founding Fathers during the American Revolution?

What were their goals? I mean during the war, not later after the Articles of Confederation had failed. What sort of country were they trying to set up?

  • Can I live off of $620-820 a month?

Rent is $300, including utilities. (my roommate and I paying 300 each)

That leaves me with $320-$520 a month. If I get help from my parents with the phone bill and car insurance, is this a feasible amount of money for me to be able to live off of?

I also have around $5,000 saved up.

  • How many North American Indians were killed by European colonists and the US Army?

I'd really like to get at least an estimate to this question, but can't find good sources anywhere. I realize that according to current research 60-90% of the native population was wiped out by exposure to European diseases, but that's not what I'm looking for, I'm looking for how many were killed as a result of European warfare and forced marches.

All I can find are crappy answers.com answers with no citations.

  • Why did Spanish South America break into different countries after independence?

Colombia, Chile, Bolivia, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay were all largely Spanish-speaking provinces that fought and won their independence from Spain, right? Why did they end up splitting into 6 different countries instead of forming into one big country? Is it because of ethnic differences between the countries? Or was it due to economic or other differences?

  • What was the primary cause of WWI, economic issues or power/ethnic issues?

What was the greatest driver of the great powers of Europe to war with each other? Was it mostly just economic competition, or was it pressure caused by Germany's entrance as a major power and tensions between the Slavic and Germanic countries?

It's obvious there were greater underlying issues behind the war beyond "Some Duke and his wife got shot."

  • What alternative rock song is this?

There's a song currently being played on alternative rock stations where the chorus goes something like "do me wrong, do me wrong, do me wrong" over and over, but I could be wrong because I can't find out what it is. Anyone know?

  • Who are the Republicans going to run in 2012?

The Republicans can do just fine attacking Obama, but who the hell are they going to run to replace him? Who the hell do they got?

Mitt Romney: A Mormon, which doesn't and shouldn't matter much to most of the country, but would be unacceptable to the GOP's rightwing fundie base.

Mike Huckabee: Said he'd like to rewrite the constitution to be more in line with the Bible.

Newt Gingrich: Old as F, flipflops. McCain was a much better candidate. Plus, "Newt"

    Sarah Palin: Hahahaha

    Donald Trump: Hahahaha

Seriously, unless the GOP can pull somebody amazing out of a hat in the next 12 months, they're screwed.

  • What would happen in a nuclear war?

If there was a major nuclear war between Russia and the U.S. what would happen? Would all life on Earth be extinguished? Or just most life, including humans? Or would some humans survive, like in Fallout?

What if there was a smaller nuclear war, like between India and Pakistan or North and South Korea (which is more likely) ? Would humanity itself be in danger, or would just millions of people die?

I know millions would die and the fallout would be terrible in any nuclear war, but how many nukes have to go off before Earth is rendered completely uninhabitable?

  • What's the word I'm looking for?

A word that describes something "at the heart of the matter." Not "intrinsic," but close to that. Like, a word describing "deep down, the real meaning of something." I just cannot think of the word I want.

If anything, it just means mildly amused. If people REALLY LOL'd they'd write ROFLMAO or similar. What's with that?

  • Accidentally used wrong debit account, how much trouble am I in?

Ok, so I have two debit/checking accounts, neither of which have overdraft protection. Yesterday I purchased something off the internet, but I accidentally used the wrong account, which didn't have enough money in it. Today the bank called me and told me I had insufficient funds to make the purchase. I then went out and deposited more money into the account I had accidentally used. How bad is this?

The website of the business I purchased from still acts like I successfully made a purchase.

Will the transaction just be canceled?

How worried about this should I be?

  • Made bad internet purchase?

Alright, I've run into a nasty problem here: I have two debit accounts, neither of which have overdraft protection. Yesterday, I purchased something off the internet using a debit card, but somehow I screwed up and used the wrong card to make the purchase. Today my bank called me and told me I had insufficient funds to make the purchase. I then went out and put more money on the account I had accidentally used. So what will happen to the account I used?

How worried about this should I be?

The website I bought from still acts like I made the purchase, but all of this only happened a couple of hours ago.

Normally I'd never let something like this happen, but until now I was unaware that you could "bounce" a debit card.
