  • Living in Nottingham but marrying in Derby, which registrar do I use?

I live in Notitngham, but the venue we're looking to get married in is in Derby. All the website says is use your "local" registrar office. Does that mean I should use Nottingham registrars for marrying in Derby, or do I have to use the town local to the venue chosen?

  • Transferring photos from andriod phone to PC?

My phone (LG G2) has broken after being carelessely dropped. Now my phone was obviously linked with Google as the new andriod phones are. I cannot get my phone to boot, and I need to get pictures and the like off of it. Is there any way to do this, as I can't actually get on the phone to drag and drop on my PC.

    Thanks

  • My kitten is suddenly terrified of my dog?

Let me first give you a bit of background here - about 8 months ago we got a puppy, and already had 2 adult female cats. The puppy is an American Akita cross Rottweiler. This puppy is now 10 months old, but 2 months ago we were asked to rescue a male tabby that had been found abandoned during the floods we were having. We took him in, on the condition we'd see how he got on with ours.

Well, him and the girls were in a slight war to find their places in the hierarchy, but they were getting on well. Now him and the puppy - despite the major size difference - were best friends. They slept together, played together, chased each other - were rarely apart, except when eating. See, my puppy is good as gold in all aspects with humans - but other animals, when it comes to food, he can show agression. Usually, it's just a warning, though he has got into fights with my partner's mothers dog. However, these are both intact males (he will be castrated when he turns a year old) and we felt a lot of the aggression was down to that, and my dog not having to ever share his food with another dog.

Yesterday morning, everything was as usual when myself and my partner went food shopping. We were gone about two hours, and when we came back, found that dog had managed to get a box of his treats out the cupboard, destroyed the packaging and then ate them all. He was in trouble and had an upset stomach. But where was the kitten?

We found him - our crazy, energetic, loopy kitten that's normally chasing everyone, attacking anything that moves - was hidden behind the sofa. Whenever we tried to get near, he ran in panic. When we eventually got hold of him, we checked him over. There were no wounds, no reactions as if in pain - he's running and jumping fine - but he was trembling and seemed in a complete panic mode with huge pupils, darting his head here there and everywhere, and the fur on his head and neck was slobbered all over and crusty dried. We shut him out of the front room separate from the dog, concerned that he had gone to investigate what the dog had snuck out, and maybe got snapped at and shook?

But health wise - he is 100%. We took him into out bedroom last night (he's not normally allowed) and when it was just myself and my partner, no other animals, he quickly became himself again, chasing feet under the duvet and jumping all over me.

However, this morning it was the same again - the second he saw the dog, he went crazy and hid behind the kitchen units. He's only just come out now, and he's glued to my side hiding as the dog is outside but he's still wary.

As his general health is fine and it seems to just be fear, what would you suggest to help him get comfy with his best friend again? Our dog is very confused as to why he's suddenly been shut away from the cats, and doesn't seem to understand why our kitten won't play. Any advice on how to get him confident again would be much appreciated. We were thinking of just separating them when we aren't in, just in case, but when we're in leaving him to it and letting the kitten come out with the dog around in his own time? But I'm concerned that the stress and the hiding won't be good for him.

  • Litter Trained Kitten Peeing All Over?

I bought two kittens two days ago (8 weeks old) and the owner stated they were litter trained. Since getting them home, one of them has quite happily started using the tray with no problems. Her sister used the tray twice, once for urine and once for a poo, but since then hasn't entered it. I've found her peeing on my curtains, and when I woke up this morning quite a few wet patches on my bed and then caught her during the day peeing there.

She is peeing far more regularly than her sister, and each wee is quite large - soaked through from the top of a duvet through a matress protector and down to the matress.

Any ideas what this could be? She's happily eating and playing about, and I still see her go in the tray every now and again but these wees still appear! I've bought a second tray so she could have her own away from her sister's, thinking that would help, but thus far she's disinterested in it.

    Thanks

  • What does ODA mean in relation to bone disease?

My dad recently got his results of an X-ray on his hip, and they stated he had ODA. However, the clinic had no idea what ODA was when he rang to find out, and we can't find anything online.

    Any ideas?

  • Brumation or is he ill? Bearded Dragon help please!?

I've had my bearded dragon for about 2 years now, and I had him from a baby. I moved last week to a new home and brought him with me. I set up his viv exactly as it was in the last home to reduce stress and changes. He seemed healthy for the first 5 days, but we went back to my parents on Friday night, and came back Sunday evening. On Sunday evening, I found him under his log in the shade, practically unconsious. He's normally really alert, and I noticed he hadn't eaten his grasshoppers that we put in on Friday, which he usually eats the second they're placed in the tank. He didn't even react when I tried to lift him up (he normally flicks his tail and flails his back legs until I can hold them too). His eyes were droopy also.

The apartment was really hot, and I wondered if maybe he'd got too hot, so I turned his lights of early and gave him an almost-cold bath. He perked up a bit, but still wouldn't eat. He seemed ok for the next hour, before going into a lethargic state again. I thought it might be because he was tired now, so I didn't do anything.

This morning however, he's still being lethargic. Grasshoppers are climbing all over him and he's barely reacting, and his eyes are half closed. If I go to touch him or try to move him, he doesn't react at all.

He poohed on Thursday, and it was a good size pooh with lots of calcium in it. He's eaten a small amount of Salad since we moved, but not many grasshoppers. He was waiting until they came near him rather than going and getting like he used to.

I know this sounds similar to brumation, but doesn't that usually happen November through February? The weather in the UK hasn't really been in line with the seasons, but not that extreme difference. He has UV lights and a basking heat light. His temperature on his hot side is usually around 35 and his cold side between 28 and 30.

Should I seriously think about forking out for a vet visit or should I not be worried? Is there anything I can do to help him?

  • Studying Architecture in the UK - year out work question?

In the UK, to become an Architect, you have to study for 3 years, work for 1, study for 2, work for 1. I was just wondering if anyone knows whether or not you get paid for the year out working? I'm trying to find out whether or not I'll need a part time job still during that time, or whether I'm paid in that year.

    Thanks

  • Do I need a wedding license?

I live in the UK, but nowhere online seems to tell me either way. It will not be a religious ceremony - it will be performed by a Registrar. Do I need a marriage license, or is that only for civil/religious ceremonies?

  • Can I find out who my car insurance is with?

I've been insured for the past 4 months as a learner, but I just passed my test yesterday. We need to ring the company to change the information so that I'm still insured, but we can't find the cover note anywhere. My dad's convinced I've got it, and I'm convinced he's got it, so we're in a stalemate! We checked the bank statement, but that only tells us the finance broker that we pay, not the insurance company. Could we just ring them without the insurance number that's on the cover note? Or is there a way to find out who I'm insured with?

  • Can you give me a summary of current UK property law?

I am completing an assignment as extra on my BTEC Level 3 Built Environment course, called Property Law in Construction. I have to explain current property law, but can't find anything online without buying very expensive books, or reading through actual legislation, which is very confusing. Could someone please just explain to me an overview of current UK Property Law with some key terms that I can research further?

    Thanks

  • Is there a way I can bypass the college internet blocker?

I have a two hour dinner every Tuesday, and now I'm bored. I want to download an update for a PC game I have (which won't open until I update it) on my own personal laptop, but I'm using the college network. Because it's a game, the filter blocks the update from downloading. Is there any way to get around this?

  • What do I need to get my business going?

I want to start my own personalised baking business from home, so far I have:

    Business Card

    Information Brochure

    Advertisement Flyer

    Website

What else would I need to really get going? I'm working on getting some photos of my finished products. Do I need a food hygiene certificate if it's just me selling from my home kitchen? I live in the UK, if that makes a difference.

    Thanks!

  • My fiancee needs help, but he won't get it? Please Read, It's serious.?

When I met my fiancee, he was a self harmer. Sometimes he would cut quite bad, but he stopped. All his scars had nearly faded, and it had been almost two years. He had about 4 sessions of therapy but took offense to them asking questions about his childhood, and he believed that it wasn't good for him, so he stopped going.

He has lately admitted to me that he feels he may have left too early and needs to go back, but he says he doesn't want to talk about his childhood to them. I know his childhood wasn't fantastic, and he insists it can't be his root problem. He refuses to go the doctors, or into therapy again, even though he admits he needs it.

Recently, he started cutting again. They're getting bad again, and the slightest things are setting him off. He gets really paranoid and angry and takes everything as a personal insult to him that anyone does or says if it doens't include him or something. It's like he feels the entire world is working against him. If I speak to someone who isn't him and forget to mention it or something, he flips and panics and accuses me of hiding things from him.

I don't know what to do, I feel like I can't argue with him anymore because when I do he cuts and I'm worried he'll hurt himself. I can't leave him, I love him and want to be with him still. I want to know how to get him help.

    Please help.

  • Headaches for the past 2 months?

For the past two months I've had really bad headaches every day. Sometimes I have dizzy spells and shakes too. I went to my GP, and he just kept prescribing me stronger painkillers - first ibuprofen, then codeine phosphate, then diclofenac sodium, but when he tried to give me Tramadol I said no - no more painkillers. He then decided that it instantly had to be the combined pill I'm on. Bearing in mind it's never been migraines, and I'm on a low hormone pill - 20/150. I refused to stop the pill and he said he can't do anything for me. I tried taking Feverfew as a herbal remedy 3 times a day, and it started to work, but then stopped after about a week. It was recommended I take 500mg of pure magnesium once a day with my Feverfew, and I tried that, but it just made me feel sick and gave me stomach aches, so I stopped the magnesium.

I have had an in-depth eye test and they found nothing.

Could anyone explain what this could be please? And how to fix it? It's starting to affect my college work and concentration...

I never have overly heavy periods (although my last two have been strangely thick and goopy) and I do have some white secretion when I'm not on my period, but I put that down to maybe a yeast infection but haven't got around to treating it yet.

  • Does it sound like an STD?

For about 2 months now I've had a sort of yellowish thick secretion from my vagina, almost contantly. That's sticky and smelly. My last period was also oddly thick, and brown rather than red. I itch a lot around the area. I thought at first it may be thrush, what do you think? Does it sound like an STD? I am sexually active, have been for 3 years with the same man, he is the only man I've slept with and he'd only slept with one woman before me, and they were both virgins. We don't use condoms. Do you have any idea what this could be?

  • Maintenance Loan Question?

When I apply for University, I will be living at home. However, if I get into the University I wish to, I'll need to live away from home. When would I apply for a maintenance loan? Because the amount will depend on whether I'm living at home or not, won't it?

  • Unusually thick period?

My last two periods have been unusually thick - the description I was given about a period involved expecting what looks like "A small squashed cherry". Well imagine I'd sat in a packet of cherries. There's none of my usual blood, it's all just congealed.

I don't know if it's related, but for the past 5 weeks I've also had extremely bad headaches every day that even Diclofenac Sodium won't get rid of. I've tried a herbal (Feverfew Leaf Extract) remedy, that worked for about a week, but now they've started coming back. I am feeling more tired lately, and keep getting joint aches/cramps, mainly in my hips.

I am on the pill - Gedarel 20/150. Does anybody know what this could be?

  • My Kawasaki Eliminator acted up yesterday?

Whilst doing about 60mph on my Kawasaki Eliminator 125 yesterday, the following happened:

Felt as if I'd full taken off the throttle, put it back on, taken it off completely again.

Then, it revved loads and loads as if it were in neutral.

I pulled over and the engine cut out at about 30mph as I was slowing down. It took about 5 minutes to start again. I checked around the bike, and there was nothing obviously wrong with it. No leaking, no loose chain etc. It has enough oil too.

Any ideas what this could be? It's been tempremental lately anyway - it cuts out under breaking sometimes (usually in the cold, but sometimes in warmer weather too) and the chain keeps getting slack and needing tightening. It also had an oil leak 5 times in the space of a month, but that's not leaked for about a month.

  • Resizing a claddagh ring?

    Hi there,

I got engaged a few months back, but have since been on a weight loss program, and although not at my target weight yet, I have lost quite some size, and my engagement ring is now dropping down my finger and slipping around. It's not falling off yet, but I'm worried that when I get to my target weight it'll be too big and slip of completely.

How easy is it to resize a claddagh ring, as I understand they are not a traditionally shaped ring. How much approximately would it cost? (GBP £)

    Thanks
