  • This new Mail Aggregator in My Yahoo Blows, Doesn't it?

Has anyone figured out how to return to separate previews for Gmail and Yahoo Mail and Hotmail etc? If I wanted all my mail to be in the same pile, I would have one email address instead of one for my personal life and one for business.

Yahoo doesn't think things through before imposing crap. Let's hope they give us a choice this time.

Anyone know how to get our CHOICE back?

  • In Vietnam: Why do they always ask "Are you married?"?

I've just moved to Vietnam. Everyone always asks, "Are you married". They also ask "What is your job" and "How much money do you make?". And this is in the supermarket-strangers!

    The answers are:

    1) I'm unemployed for the moment. Looking.

    2) Never Married, don't want to. Like to rack up notches on my belt and move on.

    3) I have money. If I make more, I don't want to tell you how much.

Now about the marriage thing: Should I make up some phoney backstory like "My wife died" so I don't lose "face" with my Vietnamese friends, who seem to pity me?

What is the right answer to these questions, when posed by Vietnamese friends, whose sensibilities you don't want to hurt with tales of all the debauchery we engage in in the West?

Serious replies please, hopefully from expats in Vietnam who know what I'm talking about.

  • New Yahoo Page Sucks. Following me to Gmail?

How many of you hate the new, slow loading, everything is not where you like it home page on my Yahoo? I spent years putting everything where I liked it and Yahoo has unilaterilly decided to rearrange MY desk. I guess it's not MY Yahoo. It's THEIR YAHOO and they'll put my stuff where they please.

I've told them they have 5 days to give us the option to go back to the old page, or I'm moving to GMail.

    Who's coming with me?

  • Invited to Family Dinner in Vietnam. Appropriate Gift?

I have just moved to Hanoi. I am making friends quickly and have gotten to know the young girl who works at the coffee shop and her parents in my neighborhood. It is all very platonic, as I am much older than the young girl, so it's not a "dating" question. The parents are lovely and would like me to come to dinner soon. Is it appropriate to bring a gift like we do in Europe (a bottle of wine or some flowers) or in America (a bundt cake? a jello mold?). You get the picture. What is the appropriate etiquette?

  • Where's the Keen's Mustard at Coles?

I live in Queensland. My Coles stopped selling Keen's prepared mustard months ago and it hasn't come back. Anyone else notice that? Anyone know why? I thought Keen's was an Australian tradition.

  • Gibberish in Yahoo Email?

My correspondents have been telling me that when I send an email, there is gibberish within the text, between words, at the beginning and end of the message making it difficult if not impossible to read. Is there something wrong with my settings?

I use Mac OS X and Firefox as a browser. My "Character Encoding" setting is Unicode (UTF-8).

If you think you can help I can send you an email for your diagnosis. Yahoo pretended to try to answer my question and never did, they just sent a form asking me if I was happy with the answer they never sent.

Please help! This is getting embarrassing.
