  • Cats chase other cat out of litter box?

I have 4 cats. 1 of them (Willie) has been having a problem with using the litter box and is going to the bathroom pretty much wherever he pleases. I thought he possibly had some sort of medical issue and took him to the vet. They ran a full blood panel and found nothing. Then, today I saw Willie enter the room where the 6 litter boxes are kept. I followed behind him and saw him get into the litter box. Then behind me came two of the other cats hissing and chased him out and smacking him.

Can someone explain this to me and does anyone have a good solution. I'm tired of cleaning up poop and pee of my brand new hardwood floors.

  • Are Utilitech Sump Pumps crap?

Looking to purchase a new sump pump. I need a pedestal style pump. I went to Lowes and the name brand they had for a 1/3hp Pedestal pump was Utilitech. They were listed at only $77. Anyone know what kind of quality I'm getting there? It's the only one they sell there, but the price seemed too good to be true. Any help would be appreciated. A google search of review didn't really turn up much.

  • mortgage under water?

Bought my home in Sept 2007, that following winter (07-08) the housing market in my area "crashed", for lack of a better term. I purchased the home for 200k. In the Spring of 2010 we decided we wanted to move and put our home on the market. We currently owe around 195k. Houses in the area are selling for 150k and lower. We are listed at 179k and aren't getting much "action" for obvious reasons. We can't go any lower because we don't have 50k laying around to cover the costs.

Anyone have any other good ideas?

  • Reading a Moisture Meter?

I am using a brand new Ryobi Moisture Meter and the included instructions leave much to be desired. While it shows how to use the meter, it does not explain how to interpret the results.

I recently moved into a new home and would like to finish the basement, but first I want to make sure it is moisture free, or at least safe enough to finish.

I guess my first question is: Are moisture meters meant to be used on a concrete floor in a basement, or only on the walls?

If yes, then is a reading of 60 - 70 % ("wet" red light on meter) enough to raise concern? The cinder block walls were anywhere from 0-20% depending how close it was to the french drain.

    Any help is appreciated.

  • Handguns with no serial numbers?

  • Seat belt is stuck, Help!?

My buddy was getting into the passenger seat of my car. He wasn't wearing his seatbelt (Big guy) and the chime kept going off because he wasn't wearing it. So he pulled the seatbelt out and put it behind the seat and then clicked it in to stop the beeping. Any way when he went to put it back, it got caught on the headrest. It won't go back out anymore, and it now wrapped around the headrest with no play. The headrest is not built to come off according to the manual.

I'm thinking when he pulled it out he activated the Automatic Locking Retractor (ALR)? Is that what happened? Is there anyway fix this?

    It's a 2010 Tahoe.

  • Strategic default threat?

I've been reading about strategic thoughts for a month or so now, and now saw a 60 minutes bit on the topic. Morality aside critique my idea:

I bought a home a little over two years ago. After only two years, the average home in my competitive market is selling for more than 20k less than what I purchased at. At this rate I am now investing in a bottomless pit. I have no problems making my payments, and am interested in upgrading to a larger more expensive home. An oppurtunity has arised where a family member has flipped a house and has offered to sell it to me at cost. Problem is I have to sell my home. With so much negative equity, I've only had two potential buyers walk through my home in over 3 weeks. All feedback points toward being over priced.

My plan is to approach the lender and request for them to agree to a short sale of some type or I will strategically default on my loan. I will ask them to accept 20k less on the loan, but will also agree to finance my new home through them. Do you think they will entertain this offer?

  • Life and Limb beer. Where it be?

DogfishHead and Sierra Nevada collaborated in creating a beer called life and limb. I have heard it was released last week. I'm in the military stationed in Kuwait and am trying to get my wife to pick some up for my return, but she is having trouble finding it. We live in northern Delaware. Obviously the brewery is only 2 hours away and might be able to find it there, but it's gotta be somewhere up north. Help a brother out!

  • Active duty military, stationed in California, has to pay state income tax?

Was stationed in California for about a year and a half in 05 and 06. I joined the Navy in Delaware, and have paid Delaware state income tax only, regardless of where I have been stationed, my entire career in accordance with HR 100:

The Servicemembers Civil Relief Act(HR 100) provides that:

    • A person shall not be deemed to have lost a residence or domicile in any state solely by reason of being absent therefrom in compliance with military orders.

    • A person shall not be deemed to have acquired a residence or domicile in any other state solely by reason of being there in compliance with military orders.

    • Compensation for military service is not considered to be from sources within the state where a member is stationed if that state is not the member’s domicile.

I have now recieved a bill in the mail, while in Kuwait no less, for appx $1000, from the state of California for past due taxes. I sent them a letter explaining I was active duty military and a resident of the state of Delaware. They replied by sending me another bill. Below is a link to Californias interpretation of the tax laws in regards to military. It's confusing to me. Please help!

  • Where will I be able to find the beer "life and limb" next week?

Sierra Nevada and Dogfish Head will be releasing a collaborative beer called Life and Limb. I read it should be released next week. Just trying to find out where it will be sold. I know it will be distributed by Sierra Nevada, but I'm trying to find what stores will be carrying it, particularly in Delaware if anyone can get that specific.

  • Best way to handle a speeding ticket in North Carolina?

Wife recieved a speeding ticket for going 17 over in a 55mph zone in North Carolina. Officer told her her license in NC would be suspended and now has a mandatory court appearance. We live about 8 hours from NC. We are contemplating having a lawyer stand in. She is 28 and has never recieved a traffic ticket ever. I also heard you can send a letter in to the DA asking for a reduction to 9 over and they will often give the reduction along with a fine.

  • unregistered securities?

I recently purchased an LLC. The previous owner reported profits around 100k. The P&L reports he provided confirmed this figure. After I purchased the LLC I soon found out after a little digging, that the company actually lost money. I requested that he null the sale. He told me to try my luck in the legal system. I have already lost around 50k trying to get the business back in shape and have physically and mentally drained myself working on this. Do i have a case?
