Polyurethane pants peeling after washing, can they be fixed?
I have a pair of Miss Sixty pants that are 50% Cotton and 50% Polyurethane. The washing instructions say they can be machine washed at 40C , not to machine dry or iron, or Dry clean Any Solvent Except Trichloroethylene.
They accidentally got thrown into my wash inside out, were washed on cold with liquid detergent. I freaked out when I noticed and laid them flt to dry. Since then the PU coating is almost grainy in texture, flaky, and the pants feel almost gummy. What can I do to fix these or at least stop the PU from becoming any more damaged? Thanks!
2 AnswersCleaning & Laundry9 years agoGuy I've been dating for almost a year didn't get me anything for Christmas?
So...I've been dating this guy for almost a year. We aren't "officially" together though (his decision, not mine) yet his family and friends know about me. I just spent the last two nights at his place after not seeing one another for two weeks (which is the longest amount of time we've not seen eachother since earlier this year when I was out of state.visiting a friend). Anyway, we've had our problems because of the lack of commitment on his end...but I love him and he says he loves me, so I keep waiting. He didnt get me anything for my birthday, which was 5 months into our relationship. I let it slide, even though I got him something for his the month before that. However, its now just under a year that we've been together, and it's pretty apparant he didnt get me anything for Christmas. Meanwhile he's showing me all the stuff he's bought for himself since I saw him last, some things which I had almost gotten for him.
I'm really sad that he didn't even think of me, especially while buying all this stuff for himself and presents for his family. I had a feelingthat this was going to be the case. I'm really upset that I was right. I wouldnt care what it was...itcould be anything...just as long as he showed me I was actually thought of.
Now I'm debating giving him his gift at all. I'm totally broke, yet I spent weeks of deliberating over his gift. He's really well off, yet he apparently cant be bothered.
This is so hurtful and I dont really know what to do. Any advice?
4 AnswersSingles & Dating9 years agoNeed immediate psychiatric help for my hoarder mother who refuses to leave mold infested room?
Hello. I'm trying to find out who I should call because not only is this a health hazard for everyone in the house, but it's also a mental illness issue. She is locking herself in the bedroom that she shares with my stepfather, that flooded the second week of Dec. while I was away on vacation.
I have tried everything up to this point to offer help, and for some reason my step-father has been turning a blind eye to the severity of the situation. She has literally gone "round the bend". The stench is so atrocious now that you can smell it throughout the house. The mold has become toxic. The heater is not working, so the condensation has continued to build and because she is a hoarder, the trash and clutter is collecting mold and turning to mush. I can't even go in there because I can't breathe. At this point, she won't let anyone in there, she's keeping all the windows shut....and I don't know when the last time she showered because she has filled the shower with stuff she used to "soak" up the water.
I have had it, and my step-father is threatening to divorce her. She needs help, and now....I don't know what to do. I'm worried about my step-father because if the health department comes in he will have no where to go. Literally. I can figure something out, even with my animals, but he doesn't have anything left...

2 AnswersPsychology1 decade agoHave a question about bench warrants with an attached bail amount.?
My bf has a bench warrant out for his arrest for a FTA (failure to appear) last week (he forgot and we were out of town for the holiday) and was going to go into court today since it's the first day after the holiday, and I just found out he has a $15,000 bail amount with this bench warrant. If he goes into court to speak to a judge, are they going to take him into custody if he cant pay that?
4 AnswersLaw Enforcement & Police1 decade agoMy hair is STILL brassy after 3 bleachings and 2 toners, what now?
I've gone blonde before, and I knew it would be a huge process and that my desired white platinum blonde would not be achieved immediately, so I'm not delusional or anything.
Today was the third bleaching within a week. I used L'Oreal Quick Blue and 30 Vol developer. I had used Roux Violet Lights the first two times and it didn't lift as well as I had anticipated, but the results were lighter with each application. I asked the girl at the store and she said the Quick Blue would finish the job since I wanted it to be the last bleaching.
I applied it on the lengths only, leaving the roots alone entirely since they were already almost white. It lifted A LOT in the hour I had it on, but when I washed it out it had gone from the orange sherbert color to bright gold.
I was told that Manic Panic Virgin Snow worked wonders on left over brassy tones, so after rinsing out the bleach and shampooing with a ph balanced shampoo, I applied the Virgin Snow on the lengths of my hair. After an hour I applied to my roots. I washed it out an hour and a half later, using Pantene Silver Expressions conditioner.
Now, even though my hair is at the lightest point so far, it's pretty bright yellow where the orange was, with some lighter bits mixed in. The roots are perfectly white, of course.
Luckily my hair seems to be pretty resilient because its condition is surprisingly decent, and my hair is relatively soft (the ends, which I'm gonna trim, are a bit dryer but not as bad as I had thought it would be...or should be for that matter).
So, what do I do to get this gold out? At this point I don't even care about achieving the white blonde for the moment, I'll settle for a regular light blonde until I can get there and give my hair some R and R. I can't afford a salon (and I feel that I've been doing a better job anyway, despite my issues, since the last few times I went blonde everyone I went to effed up my hair and they never even got it this light), I'm not dying it black, and I am the Maid of Honor in a wedding at the end of next month (apparently I'm a risk taker).
Should I try the toner again and leave it on for longer, and just keep using the purple shampoo and conditioner? Should I gamble bleaching again? Should I use an ash blonde dye? Please help this yellowhair!!! Thanks in advance.
3 AnswersHair1 decade agoNeed hair colorists advice to achieve a certain color?
Hi =) What I would like to do is get my hair to a color like actress Kristen Stewart's in the following pics

As you can see her hair is brown but has that red tint to it. About two months ago I dyed my hair dark brown (after having it an auburn) but it has tarted to fade a bit. Here is what my color looks like right now.

So, here's my question...should I put a red color on top of it to give it that red tone? and if so, what color would you recommend? I usually use Garnier Fructise color, and they don't seem to have a red that isn't too intense. I don't want to go bright red or anything, but just like Kristen's reddish brown.
Any suggestions would be so helpful. Oh, and I don't have the $$ to get my color done at the salon, and even when I have they never get it the color I want, even when I take in pictures an such.
Thanks!
3 AnswersHair1 decade agoMy 6 yr. old runt cat is pregnant, will this hurt her or the babies?
Yes, I should have gotten her fixed, but it was never a problem until she started escaping like Houdini recently. For 6 years she's been fine. Now she is going to be a mother.
She was the runt in her litter and she's always been quite small. What complications could arise from this? Should I take her to the vet for a check up? I've heard of small cats either dying after giving birth or having still born litters, is this true?
I'm freaking out a bit here. Please help. Thanks.
5 AnswersCats1 decade agoTypical healing time on a Vertical Labret?
I've been thinking about getting a Vertical Labret for some time now, and I really want to do it now. I work in an optometrist office. My boss is really cool with my sense of style, my hair color and my industrial piercing thus far.
However, just in case he considers it over the top (even though there was another girl who worked there with many tat's and piercings before me), how long does it typically take to heal? Can you put a clear spacer in there?
Thanks!
