Hey everybody! There's a LOT about me to say...but to save time... I love The Simpsons and I own 2 Creative, Curious gerbils! Team Gerbil! :P

  • Pain between my rib cage?

Occasionally, I get a sharp pain in between my rib cage, around the upper stomach area. It usually lasts for about 30 minutes to an hour. It starts out mild and then the pain grows to the point where I can't help but lay down and curl up and then it diminishes. I don't usually have to do anything for the pain to go away except maybe apply some heat, I just have to wait it out. There's not really any nausea or diarrhea with it and I'm not constipated.

Does anybody know what this could be?

This only happens to me like once every few months, but when it does happens it hurts a lot and I don't want to have to go through it if there's something I can do to help it.

    Thanks!

  • How to care for thin, frizzy, wavy hair?

I have thin hair and if I don't brush my hair and blow dry it when it's wet, then it will be wavy and somewhat frizzy when it's dry. If I want to leave my hair natural like this, how do I keep it from being frizzy (using as few products as possible)? Also to keep from washing out my natural hair oils, I don't wash my hair every day (usually every other day, sometimes every 2 days), so if I put product in my hair, can I leave it in for a couple days? Also are there certain haircuts that I should get that might help this problem? Right now all I have is a straight blunt cut.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Should I use depilatories?

I'm a girl and I've got black, but soft and I think it's fine hair on my legs. I've never shaved or used depilatories for leg hair removal. Do you think depilatories would be safe and remove the hair well on my legs? If you do, which one would you recommend?

If you don't recommend depilatories then what should I use? I'm really looking for a painless and cheap way to remove my leg hair, and preferably a way that will not make my leg hair grow back stronger and darker.

    Thanks

  • Are oral herpes a big deal?

A few days ago I think I got a cold sore on my mouth/lip area. There was some tingling and I didn't touch it or mess with it and then it went away within a few hours.

I had never really given much thought to herpes because I figured I wouldn't have it because I'm 15 and I've never kissed anyone or anything like that, so how did I get it?

I did some research on it and I heard that 80% of the population has it, so is it even that big of a deal? It feel like its really gross and embarrassing but I'm not really sure so some background information on it would be nice, thanks. :)

  • Retainer has stains all over it?

Hey so I got my retainer about 4 months ago and by now it's just super dirty and it has white splotchy stains all over it. Is this normal? Or bad? I'm not if it's my teeth rubbing off on it or maybe my spit, but I brush it every morning and night and I always wash it before putting it back in my mouth. I've tried scratching it off but it doesn't come off. How do I get rid of these stains, are they normal, and what causes them?

    Thanks :)

  • How likely/possible is it for me to be taller than both my parents?

So I'm 14 (almost 15), skinny (under 100 lbs.), and asian. I'm wondering if it's possible for me to grow taller than both my parents? Currently, I am 5' 6". My mom is 5' 4". My dad is 5' 8". I think that my grandparents on either side of my family are shorter than my dad (except for my grandfather on my mom's side, who might be a little taller). I've always wanted to be super tall for some reason. :)

  • Itching top palet leads to cold?

    Hello,

Recently, every time I am about to get a cold, the top palet in my mouth starts to itch (irritating). Then, the itch starts to go down to the throat, then the itching turns to pain. The pain leads to a sore throat and then stuffy nose, headache, coughing, sneezing, etc.

This happens every time I get a cold! Why does it always start with an itchy palet?

    Thanks.

  • Would it be okay to say...?

Would it be ok to say on a birthday card for a long-time friend, "Money can't buy friendship, but it can buy cool things for your friends!"

    Thanks.

  • How come people don't get sick eating sushi?

So I know lots of people eat sushi, with and without raw meat. However, when there is raw meat in the sushi, how come people don't get sick with like, poisoning or salmonella for something like that when they eat the raw meat? Is it just a chance that they take or does the sushi maker have some way of curing the meat?

    Thanks.

  • Do I have to wash my gerbil's cage every week?

    Hey everybody.

So far, I've been washing my gerbil's cage weekly. But, I've realized that their cages really aren't smelly by the end of the week, as they normally pee in their extension tube (I want to only clean the extension part out weekly.)

Also, after like, a week has gone by, they create a really nice burrow/nest for themselves, and every week, I have to destroy it when I clean the cage out. So I want to let them keep their nest like, another week.

So do you think it would be ok if I just clean their cage out once every other week?

    Thank you.

  • Would this be the correct way to use the word heresy?

In school, I have to do a presentation of heresy, and write 2 sentences using the word heresy. Would it make sense if I said this:

He has committed heresy by changing the people he worships.

SO would that make sense? Please, only people who are 100% sure of their answer, answer this!

  • My gerbils eat too much, too fast?

I feel like my gerbils are eating too fast, and too much! Are there ways to stop this? And just to make sure, about how much food (in tablespoons) should I feed my 2 gerbils and how long should that last for 2 gerbils?

    THank you

  • My gerbil's teeth are kind of long?

    Hey everybody.

So recently I've been checking my gerbil's teeth, and they are kind of long. That was 2 days ago. I have given them wood, lots of hard card stock paper, and cardboard to chew. However, I check and it seems like their teeth are not getting worn down any more. So why not? I've been giving them a LOT of the cardboard and card stock paper the past 2 days. Is it normal? What can I do?

    Thanks.

  • How do you wash your rodent's cage in the Winter?

    Hey everybody.

So since I just got my 2 gerbils this summer, I still don't know what I'm going to do for the winter. So calling all rodent owners out there, any rodent, it doesn't matter, how do you clean their cage in the winter? Like, where I live it gets pretty cold in the winter, and so I feel FREEZING, and plus sometimes it's snowy.

    So what do you do?

    Thanks.

  • URGENT! Gerbil is really spooked?

    Hey everybody.

Just a few minutes ago, my gerbil has become really scared and spooked all of a sudden! Currently my gerbil is still hiding in an expansion in his cage. I haven't been doing anything differently, he was tapping his foot so i went to check on him and the lights were off, there were no scary bird shadows, nothing like that. I opened the cage and lured him down, but after a couple seconds of being down he was darting around and darted back up to the expansion again. I was making almost no movement, yet something still spooked him!

Also, I have another gerbils and he is not spooked like the one I was just talking about before! So what is my gerbil Bart, so scared about when his companion isn't scared? (They were together since birth, so it can'tbe that Bart is scared of his companion.)

Thank you. PLEASE ANSWER! I'm really scared for him!

  • My gerbils are wrestling/grooming each other?

    Hey everybody.

So ever since I've gotten my gerbils (maybe like, a month or so ago?) I noticed that when they groom each other, it's like a fight to who gets to groom who or who gets groomed. Sometimes the one that is being groomed even tries to kick the other gerbil off of him. Also, when I let them out of their cage to play a while, they seem to be even more rough when wanting to groom each other.

SO, my questions is, is this normal?

And if this isn't normal, what should I do about it?

    Thanks.

  • Recently I have not been giving my gerbils fruits and veggies?

    Hey everybody.

Recently I haven't been giving my gerbils many fruits and veggies. I'm not sure why...maybe I just keep forgetting to cut a tiny piece?

Also, when I do feed them fruits and veggies I always keep forgetting to keep track of when I have it.

So is it ok that I haven't done it recently? Is not having fruits and veggies bad for them?

Definitely, when I get them back on fruits and veggies I will start back up slowly, once a week and try to stay on schedule.

  • Expired milk, expired milk in cooking, etc.?

    Hey everybody.

SO I have a few questions about milk and it's expiration date.

    1. How long is milk good after the "sell by" date? Please don't tell me to just smell it...I really just want an overall estimate or a true answer.

    2. What if you had used milk that was say going to expire in a day and you use it in a cookie recipe? So the milk used in the cookies is expired, can the cookies still be eaten?

    Thank you!
