oooooooooooook ill start from the start.... we live in the UK and a few months ago i heard a noise coming from my kitchen cupboard... and the dog was sniffing and crying. so i empited it.. found a bag of dog food which had been chewed up so we put mouse traps down and poison and neither were touched. so i thought because there is a little hole at the back of the cupboard where the pipe goes out... a mouse had came in. and id scared it off. but the dog started sniffing around in the passage at the floor and crying and trying to dig up the floor. so my first thought was... its crawled under there and died and he can smell it. as the months went on i thought nothing of it... nothing else seamed to happen that would make me think HEYYY you have a rat infestation going on under your house. until a few weeks back i went in the garden to put some rubbish into my bin and there was a rat sitting there, i screamed and it dived into the bin. i shut the bin and ran into the house. i came out later that evening to investigate.... i found a piece of skirting board which was lying on the ground behind my bins and it was right against the house, the dog came out with me to investigate and thats where he lead me, i lifted it up to find a tunnel going under the house. i called up the council who sent a rat man out the next day, he put poison down... it was all taken, i put traps down, all in all i caught 8 rats, 7 babies and 1 bigger 1. he came back last week and put more poison down... it was taken within a few hours. i have not caught any rats since friday so i thought woooop they have gone!!! until this morning i went out and there was one in my garden.. it ran into my neighbors garden and into the vent in her wall which would lead under her living room. iv called up my landlord and they explained they probs have either moved into next door..... (which doesnt explain why the dog is still trying to dig up the passage even more than he was before) (unless he can smell dead ones) orrrrrrr they have found another way out of my house to avoid my traps. they said just wait for the rat man to come back on thursday, but thats two days away and i have 3 children, one a 8month old baby rolling around the floor, im very freaked out something might go wrong... one of my children may pick up a disease. im now thinking this problem may be bigger than i first thought.... what do i do? they are avoiding my traps and the poison doesnt seam to be killing them

we have rats under our house.... we had an exterminator out and he put poison into the tunnel they had made going from the garden to under our house. he said keeps pets and children away from this... i have a chihuahua who is not at all interested in anything that is going on with these rats... but my partners mums dog lives here now and hes a parsons jack russell and hes very interested in it all... hes the reason we found out we had them by him sniffing around and crying, trying to dig up the floors in the house. so anyways the man said watch out because the rats will come out and die.... so pick any dead rats up before the dog gets them. i hadnt noticed any dead rats but the dog seamed to have found one... id let him out and i noticed he was eating something. i ran over and it was a dead rat. i did get it off him before he ate it.... but my question is..... what do i do now? will he be ok?

3wks ago i had a tooth removed because my dentist was unable to do my root canal because he could not find one of the roots... so he pulled it, but a root snapped while he was pulling so he went fishing around and pulled a root out. so i believed it was all gone. a couple of days later i got earache and an awful taste in my mouth, i went back and i had dry socket, a dressing was put in and that was the end of it. it was still a bit sensitive.... but i thought it would be ok soon. but its been 3wks and its no better and when i look at it there is a small white circle about 2-3mm big, its hard, at fist i thought it was a scab.. its just to the side of my socket.. like on the edge of it, but the more i think about it the more i think heyyy im pretty sure thats a tooth root!! is it? that seams to be where its sensitive. iv tried scratching it with my finger but it is solid. is it really a tooth root? do i need to go back?

we seam to have a rat infestation going on under the house.... there is a small tunnel from our garden going under the house. a man came out yesterday from the council and put 5 blocks of poison into the hole, said he would be back next week to check on the poison... but told me to watch it because if they die under the house.... there is guna be an awful stink and alot of flys. so now im freaked out!! he told me to contact my landlord about this because its a private rent and he cant do anymore for me. so i checked this morning... all the poison is gone! so im guessing the rats dragged it under the house to feast on..... iv recently found out its down to me to sort this mess out not my landlord!! who seams to have vanished off the face of the earth anyways. so what do i do now???? i called up a company for pest control and he said if we start ripping up floor boards the rats will run off into the walls and make the problem worse... he said they might not stink the house out. a man with many years experience is telling me dead rats are not going to smell.... how is that??

seriously what do i do now?

i have been on the pill 8 months now since my baby was born and every month iv had a normal heavy period. last month my period was late... i normally start bleeding 2days after i stop my pill but it took 5-6days last month so i was getting worried... but i just waited it out, i came on and it seamed normal. this month we were going away for a few days so i decided id take two packets in a row so id not come on my period while we were away... about a week into my second packet i had some brown spotting... so i stopped taking my pill because i thought this spotting might not stop so ill just have my period and get it over with... so i stopped but the spotting got no heavier. it was brown for two days only when i wiped, then it was red for 1day only when i wiped, then yesterday brown when i wipe... and today its stopped. . this is not normal for me at all. i normally have heavy periods. can the pill do this? even though everything was fine for 6months

at the end of november my dog was acting up... going into the kitchen and going to the cupboard under the sink and crying and scratching it. after a day or so i thought ill empty it and see whats going on... there is no food in that cupboard its mainly my washing powder and stuff.... so i emptied it and found a bag of old dried dog biscuits... they had been chewed through the bag. there was also alot of bags chewed up. i have completely emptied the cupboard now and there are some traps in there and poison... but they remain untouched. the dog stopped acting up at the cupboard so i thought welllll iv scared them off.... then a couple of days later he started acting up in the hall way... trying to dig the floor up!! so i thought they must have got under the floor! so i noticed a small hole in the back of the cupboard which im assuming leads to under the floor.. so i dropped poison down there. the dog never stopped acting up but it wasnt as bad so i thought they must have all died but he can still smell them. so last night i went to put some rubbish in my wheely bin at the front door... opened my bin and there was a rat sitting in there! i screamed and it dived into my bin. once i had got over the shock i decided to look around... my bin is almost right against my house wall so i pulled it away and there was a small piece of wood... about 2ft long and maybe 10cm wide which was on the ground right against the house, i seen a sort of little tunnel going under this piece of wood so i moved it... and there is a tunnel going right under my house. iv put a trap near the entrance but they seam to be avoiding traps and poison.... so how else can i kill them? my mum had the same problem in her garden shed and she called the council and they put poison down and this was back in october but the problem remains. why are these rats not dying?

my chihuahua is almost 3 and shes always been a lovely pet, always loved playing with the children, also loved snuggles and has never left my side... if im sitting on the sofa shes lying beside me, if i go in the bath she sits on the mat beside the bath... if i go to the toilet she waits at the door and if i go to bed she comes to bed. but since my partners mum took ill and is unable to look after her dog... hes come to live with us, hes a jack russell parsons and hes lovely, very friendly and playful but hes quite a bit bigger than her but it didnt bother her at first.,.. they played alot and there was no problems. but hes been here a while now and my chihuahua has changed alot, first thing i noticed was she hides upstairs on the bed most of the day and wont come dwn unless i put the other dog in the garden. and something else which worries me is she wont eat her food.... i put her food out and she sniffs it then walks away, iv tried closing her in the kitchen but she wont eat her food!! then the other dog will go and eat it, then eat his food and my dog goes over to his empty dish and licks it clean. its so upsetting for me that she saves her food for her. iv tried feeding her different times of the day when shes showing me shes hungry by licking her bowl... but she still wont eat her food. why is she doing this? is she depressed? the only time she appears happy is when i take her for her walks and its just me and her

my 4 year old got a high temp last night, i gave nurofen and 1 hour and a half later her temp was back in the normal range... this morning she woke up crying her head was hurting... her temp was high again too.... i gave nurofen this morning and took her to see a doctor... he asked her about the headache and she said it gets real bad when she coughs. he said its a sinus infection and has prescribed anti-bi's.... at 11:30 i gave more nurofen as she was burning up again... its now halfmost 4:30pm and shes really hot but i can not give more nurofen as it says no more than 3 doses in 24hours. shes lying on the sofa and keeps randomly crying saying her knees hurt and her legs hurt. iv looked but there is nothing there. shes been asleep most of the day and has not eaten but has been drinking milk. is this really a sinus infection? its friday evening and my drs are closing... what do i do?

i had a tooth pulled on tuesday.. it was very hard to get it out, it took over 20minuets, then the root had snapped... so was not as easy as i hoped. after a couple of days the socket was throbbing and causing earache... i went back to my dentist yesterday (friday) and she said my blood clot had came away... she could see exposed bone... she rinsed it out and said she was putting a fake blood clot in.. so she stuffed this stuff in there, it has a very odd taste to it. strong medicated stuff, which is wearing off now thankfully!! but i dont remember her saying make another app... or you need to pull it out in a couple of days. so im not sure what is supposed to happen?? i cant call up until monday morning because its closed all weekend! so anyone else been through this who is from the UK... what happens?

ok so today when my partner was at work he said someone jumped in the back of their van and tried to steal their tools...... hes a roofer and his partner was up the ladder so he was standing gaurd at the bottom and the van wasnt far away... maybe 6 meters. so my partner heard a clatter so ran over to the van and there was a man in the back gathering tools! so my partner said he clobbered him over the head about 4 times with a heavy metal chain which was the first thing he could pick up. the man got up and ran off. then my partner and his work partner locked the van and went and sat in a nearby cafe at the church they were working on for a hot drink and something to eat, then a lady came in and said who hit the man over the head with a chain? and my partner told her it was him and she said the police were asking where yous were but i thought yous had gone home so i told them you had left..... so im sitting here worried there is going to be police at the door sometime soon and my partner is going to be arrested! am i worrying over nothing or could this be serious?

last year my partners dog went crazy when a feamle shitzuz across the street was in heat, and i mean crazy! crying to get out all night long. we got him the snip and of course the female was not in heat after this so we thought ahhhh hes calmed down. well no shes in heat again and hes going off it even after having the snip like 11 months ago. hes not as bad, hes not crying to be out at night but hes crying alot and trying to escape alot, thankfully that is not possible with the new fence and all but why is this still happening?

for example.... if you go looking for a stud dog in your area and find your self a nice one... breed him with your dog, then later find out that hes her father. would the puppies be like deformed?

no i have not done this.... im just curious as my mum was saying they often do this in the wild

my chihuahua is almost 3 and this is her 4th cycle.. shes been bleeding for 8days and the bleeding is still red but there is no where near as much of it.. and at first the dog from next door who jumped the fence (who is now unable to make pups) was licking and trying it on but she was turning him down. since yesterday shes been going up to him and putting her rear in his face and when he licks it shes waiting around for more but hes not doing anything.... so im not sure if she would accept it for not but shes waiting around unlike a few days ago.... could she be at her fertile now even though shes still got red blood?

yesterday morning i woke up and my ear felt popped.... tried blowing my nose and such but it stayed popped. this morning i woke up and i was still popped, but i felt a bit dizzy walking around the house. so i took my children off to school and while sitting waiting for my second child to go into the class room i kept having these awful bouts of dizziness, i was sitting still and suddenly it felt like the room was spinning! i could feel myself flopping to one side and i really thought i was going to fall off the chair! i manage to walk home and still feel a bit dizzy and sickly so i have called the clinic and im there in 45minz. but im scared! my partner is at work and i have a 7month old baby and im scared ill fall over while carrying him. whats happened to me?

my mum is in her late 50's and two weeks ago woke up one morning with an awful pain in her back as though she had pulled a muscle. but claims she did not pull a muscle that she knows of. for the last 10days she says shes feeling so tired everyday and keeps falling asleep... and still her back is not getting any better. i need to call up the doctors in the morning to get her an app as shes at work and cant call.... im worried its something awful, are these signs of cancer?

last week i noticed my daughters hamsters eye looks large and sticks out more than the other... at first i thought it was just an abnormality... but the eyeball appears white inside rather than red like the other, and if you touch the hamster on that side of its body it jumps as though it did not see you coming. i have called up the vets but can not get seen until jan 12th.... what is wrong with this poor hamster? its less than a year old

i plan on buying a new hoover today in the sales. id like to spend no more than 300£ but i need a decent one, i plan on buying a dyson as i know they are all good, which one would be best for carpets and pet hair? upright or cylinder? which one is more powerful

i havent pooped in 6days now and i keep getting bad cramps like i NEED to go so i run off to the bathroom and sit there for ages and its not coming. i cant take movicol because it makes me vomit very badly. i have tried fibergel and skenkot and i have drank a crap load of water and its not helping me at all. is this dangerous?

the other day... i got sever toothache. my tooth had been sensitive for sometime so what i would normally do when it was hurting was stick some tooth paste on it... or use my mouthwash. so when my pain suddenly got sever on saturday morning i kept using tooth paste to calm the pain down... every 10-20seconds. i went through 3 tubes of toothpaste and 1 bottle of mouth wash before i could see an emergency dentist.. and yes i had taken pain killers... an awful lot and they did not help! i had taken everything the pharamist said i could, but they really didnt help. so i had a temp root canal done and my tooth is pain free... but my tongue is swollen on that side and very sore. i can hardly eat. iv tried to have a look with a torch and there are a few little white lumps. but nothing that would make me think its causing all this pain. iv tried using salt water in my mouth but its not helping, also i have stayed away from toothpaste and mouth wash as they make it seriously sting. what can i do? or what have i done to my tongue? could it be from the mouthwash and toothpaste or perhaps a reaction to something from the root canal?
