  • In which Strar Trek TNG episode did this occur?

The ship has been set to auto-destruct (I think that's the case, but definitely the ship is to be immanently destroyed). Data disturbs Picard and they have a rather philosophical discussion. That's as much as I can recall. I'd like to view the scene again... can anyone help me figure out were to look?

NB: I realize this doesn't really belong in philosophy, but I felt that I had a better chance of getting an answer from this section of yahoo answers than the television category.

  • Do I qualify for the American Opportunity Credit?

I am full-time college student and a veteran receiving the Chapter 33 Post 9/11 GI Bill. The GI Bill pays 100% of my tuition and fees. Do I qualify for the American Opportunity Credit? I don't think I do, I just can't seem to find a straight answer anywhere.

  • Some youtube videos won't play?

Sometimes as I'm browsing through youtube videos some of them won't play. It's been happening for the past week or so. Instead of automatically playing, the video comes up and has a play button in the middle of the screen. When I click it to play, the screen goes black and does the loading animation but doesn't actually load at all. As far as I can tell, which videos will and won't play is totally random. All I can think of is I missed an update or something, but I have no idea what.

  • How did I get a google account?

When I go to the google homepage it says I'm signed in. Also, I occasionally go to a page and am prompted to sign in with my google account. And it works! It provides my email address and I simply typed in the same password I use for everything. So here's my problem: I never signed up for a google account. How did I get one?

It is possible I signed up for it a long time ago and forgot about it, but I'm thinking not. Can someone tell me whether it's possible to be automatically signed up for this? I use yahoo email, if that makes a difference.

  • Where can I find this Heidegger quote?

"Why is there something rather than nothing?" This quote is attributed to Martin Heidegger but I'm having trouble finding it in his works. Did he even write those words? Point me in the right direction if he did.

  • Sometimes I can't watch flash videos?

    This is a weird situation...

It seems I can no longer watch flash videos online. I have IE8 and Firefox, neither works. I CAN play flash games; youtube works just fine. And If I log onto a different account on the computer, the videos do play. I have reset the computer, I have reinstalled and updated flash and the browsers, but on my account the videos do not work. Any ideas?

  • Do you know this quote?

I'm trying to remember a quote I read a while back. It's along the lines of how words are not the same thing as their meaning and says something like, "Show me a man who has forgotten his words, so that I may have a conversation."

I'm thinking the quote comes from a historic figure from the Middle East or India. Not sure.

    Any ideas?

  • Extra periods in early twentieth century literature?

I've been reading through some Sherlock Holmes stories and one thing I keep noticing is that there will be an extra period from time to time. Not often, but certainly enough that these aren't typos. Here is an example:

"...and my poor little reputation, such as it is, will suffer shipwreck if I. am so candid."

Notice the period after I? Can anyone explain this phenomenom?

  • What was the name of this TV show?

It starred a redhead actress, who worked at some kind of television network with a lowly job and was klutzy and uncool. Then she ended up being the secretary or assistant to the sort of head honcho. I think he was supposed to be an anchorman or producer. Anybody know what I'm talking about?

  • Will my post 9/11 GI Bill pay for out-of-state tuition?

I'm currently attending an in-state university and using the gi bill. But I'm now looking to transfer to a school out-of-state. Can anyone give me some solid answers on whether the gi bill will pay the out-of-state tuition? Or can it be waived? I'm currently in Ohio looking to go to Michigan if that matters. And both universities are public.

  • Word for attempting a difficult task?

I can't think of this word. It's been on the tip of my tongue for an hour! What would you call someone when they are going to attempt something difficult. An example would be wanting to run a race in record time. It's an adjective. I can't think of any more clues. Help!

  • Do you die in hell or suffer eternally?

Growing up as a Christian I learned that those who believe will have life everlasting, and those who do not shall perish. I also learned that if you go to hell you suffer eternally. These statements seem contradictory to me. Maybe not, we are speaking metaphysically after all. So which is it? Eternal rapture? Death? Or do I have it wrong?

  • Basic facts on illegal immigration?

Illegal immigration is an issue which sparked my interest recently and so I wanted to get some basic facts. I'm speaking specifically about Mexicans coming to America. Why are they illegal in the first place? I know that people are allowed to legally immigrate to America. I don't believe that Mexico is excluded as a particular country from which people can immigrate. I assume there is a quota or something like that. Is there? If so, what are the numbers? Do some Mexicans try to immigrate legally? What are the reasons so many do so illegally? Quotas are too low? Money issues?

I might guess that the "p" comes from "proposition"? But, I'm baffled by "q". What's surprising is I can't find an explanation anywhere on the web. So, does anyone know?
