  • The "Times Have Changed" Argument?

    When I ask religious question about principals and moral values of the Bible, I am often faced with this "rebuttal". "But, times have changed since then". If times have changed and you are no longer required to live by certain sections of the bible such as "murder those who work on the sabbath" and "women should keep quiet in churches", then why do you continue to believe the other parts of the bible? It seems to me, that you feel like you get to pick and choose what you want to believe out of the bible. So, why is it wrong for atheists to not believe that god created the universe? we are merely refusing to believe a section of the bible. Or, if it truly is a different time than back then, why doesn't your god write another bible?
