How could a British person go about moving to America?
I mean I know you have to have a skill and a visa and whatever, but is it possible to get a menial job like working in a bar if it supports you living out there?

To err is human; to forgive, divine
I thought to use a semicolon you need two independent clauses?
Can someone give me a detailed explanation? I'm studying grammar in my personal time in preparation for college.

Also, I was going to ask; years ago before you went to Korea, what was the course you took, was it CELTA?
3 AnswersWords & Wordplay8 years agoWhat if you're bad at what interests you?
I have quite a strong interest in literature and language (particularly recently) but I've always struggled with these two my whole life. Not so much my understanding but my expressing and creativity. I take synonyms of words sometimes too literally and use them in the wrong context, my grammar is appalling, and I couldn't write an essay to save my life.
Everyone is told to pursue their interests but if you're genuinely dismal at it is there any point?
3 AnswersOther - Education9 years agoHow did Jimi Hendrix and all the other greats learn to play, practise and write music?
There seems to be no definitive answer and a lot of famous guitarists are really vague in their explanations.
I hear the likes of Hendrix, Slash, and many others learned by ear. But what does that mean exactly? Did they listen to music and learned the songs by ear and then came up with their own riffs through inspiration or...?
Ah I forgot I would walk into the inevitable word 'practise'. Yes, but what did their practising entail if they learnt by ear?

Also I don't want to know how you learn or how you think guitar should be learned or who your favourite guitarists are. I want to know how these guitarists practised and learnt if they were only relying on their ears.
2 AnswersRock and Pop9 years agoErectile Dysfunction caused by Porn and Anti-depressants?
I'm 24 and I've noticed over the last 6 years of watching porn, being on anti-depressants, smoking, ocassional drug taking and drinking have damaged my penis or my mind, i'm not sure which.
I also might have Diabetes which I have yet to check. I can't decide whether to stop taking my anti-depressants or not, because I hear you can get permanent erectile dysfunction.
Would stop watching porn, smoking and going off my anti-depressants help?

I'm 24 and I've been suffering from porn addiction and occasional erectile dysfunction due to anti-depressants. Would abstaining from masturbating make my erection stronger in the future or weaker?
I'm worried that my penis may shrink permanently. Is it possible?
8 AnswersMen's Health9 years agoNot sure what to do with my life?
I'm 24, unemployed and I'm not sure what to do with my life. I have a lot of ambitions but I'm not sure what path to take. I am passionate about music, history, language, literature, film, philosophy and astronomy to name a few. I want to travel, I want to learn to speak german, french, spanish, italian, japanese, mandarin and cantonese. I want to travel the world. I want to play music (I'm a guitarist). There are hundreds of books, films and television shows I want to read/watch.
The ideas in my head are endless and overwhelming. I know I can't do them all, but I want to! What does one do?

3 AnswersWords & Wordplay9 years agoDoes it make me egocentric if I think of myself most of the time?
I suffer from severe depression and OCD and I am currently struggling with the aforementioned. I am finding it hard to think of others at the moment because I am trying to sort myself out. I'm wondering if this makes me a egocentric narcissist.
7 AnswersPsychology9 years agoHow to deal with loss in the family?
It's coming up to 4 years since my mum died of cancer. I was 19 at the time. I suffer from depression and loneliness and find it hard to come to terms with what happened to the only person I could connect with in the world.
Even as I am writing this I feel like part of me has subconsciously blocked off what has happened which has resulted me in almost forgetting I had a mother. I know all of you are going to advise me for counselling or something similar. The problem with that is I find it impossible to tell anyone what I feel inside. And I cannot bare to be put in a cold, pale room to talk to a stranger about my problems, whom only sees me as another patient anyway.
Can anyone think of some suggestions?

7 AnswersMSN9 years agoDid all the great guitarists learn by ear?
When I mean "great" I mean the famous ones such as hendrix, any punk, rock, blues, jazz guitarist, etc. Did they just learn by listening to songs and working them out by ear and then eventually came up with their own riffs?
I am currently learning songs just by listening to them and I have come up with my own riffs and ****, Just wondering if that is the way to go. I don't want to be a shredder or anything.
