  • Adrenaline from conversations?

I love to debate. Whenever debatable subjects arise in college classroom settings, I love the opportunity to put my two cents in. However, oftentimes, after I've spoken, I feel like my body twitches all over or needs to move. Is that simply adrenaline? I could understand receiving an adrenaline rush during physical activities, but I didn't expect adrenaline from simple discussions...

  • Dream About Bombs?

Last night I dreamed that I was with a very large gathering of other college age people at some sort of retreat. All of a sudden, a voice is broadcasted that says that a certain group of students within the group were to be killed (some sort of crime against the government, I don't remember what). A plane overhead drops a bomb and takes out a small chunk of the group, leaving a decent sized crater. All of a sudden, more bombs are dropped willy-nilly, regardless for who may be hit. I proceed to dodge several fly-by attempts and manage to avoid being hit by any.I run towards the cover of the forest, thanking God for my life being spared. When I turn around, the last thing I see that is dropped from the sky is a smart-car.

What exactly is the significance of this dream? I didn't think it fit with the average "bomb" dream because I wasn't the target. Instead, I was merely collateral damage. If I and the other innocents died, too bad for us. The fact that I survived is significant as well. I do not know what to make of the smart car. Thoughts?

  • Do I ask her on a date?

I have become friends with a girl at my dorm and we've slowly grown closer over the past three months. I want to ask her out on a date, but I'm afraid of losing her completely. I'm not afraid of the thought of asking her, nor am I afraid of rejection. I treasure her friendship and don't want to scare her away.

  • Dating a Friend?

I'm interested in a girl whom I consider a friend. I want to ask her on a casual date, but I'm fearful for the repercussions. I'm not afraid of being rejected or nervous about asking, I'm afraid to completely lose someone whom I consider a friend because I made a good situation "awkward." Thoughts?

  • Wait or go for it?

There's a girl at my dorm that I'm interested in. Over the past couple months or so I've slowly gotten to know her while watching football on Sundays and most days we get to talk on the way to class. I'm not sure whether or not to ask her on a casual date. I wouldn't quite say we are friends, but we are more than acquaintances and are on very friendly terms. My only fear is that if I ask her and she doesn't reciprocate, I could lose her friendship along with any possible hope at dating. Should I wait for her to make a move/hint or just go for it?

  • Two guys going after the same girl?

I have a question regarding the "dibs" concept during pre-dating. I am interested in a girl at my college whom I have slowly started to get to know better in order to pursue a relationship with her. Unfortunately, I am new to dating and a situation I had never considered has arisen. Another person I know is also working towards pursuing her. This "rival" for lack of a better word is more than an acquaintance, but not quite a friend. We watch football on Sundays together and are on good terms, but that is it. He has expressed to me that he is interested in the same girl that I am (he doesn't know of my interest though). Would it be rude for me now to continue pursuing this girl knowing that he has expressed interest, or is it perfectly acceptable for me to continue since him and I are not all that close? If I did continue to pursue her, should I at least let him know of my interest in her as well? Thoughts please.

(This may be a stupid question, but I tend to look out for others feelings more than my own because I like to treat others with the respect that I would wish to be given).

(Realize I in no way consider a girl as a prize to be win or an object of "dibs," it is just the best way I can describe the situation)

  • Using a Cane Only For Style?

I've always considered canes stylish. In semi-formal to formal settings (or when I feel like dressing up), would it be weird to have a cane not for medical reasons, but simply for style purposes?

  • Question About Suits?

I'm in college and I've always liked the look and feel of a suit. I think it brings a slight air of classiness and makes me feel (very slightly) superior when I wear it (not in a jerk sense, but a dapper and classy sense). Because I am only in college, I cannot afford to blow thousands of dollars on a top of the line suit. However I still want two things. One, I want to have a fitted suit. A suit that isn't custom fitted does not look anywhere near as nice as one that is made for you in every way. Second, I want the suit to be reasonably high quality. This is where "you get what you pay for" comes into play. It is easy to see the quality of a suit at a glance as well as the fact that a suit of higher quality will last longer.

My question is, how exactly can you purchase a reasonably high quality fitted suit without paying and arm and a leg for it (under a thousand budget)?

  • College Dating?

It's tough seeing everyone I've grown up with either getting in on the dating scene or getting married. I've never given it much effort till recently due to the fact that I had no interest in meaningless high school dating. However, now that I am in college (and have had my first friend-zoning), I'm at a bit of a loss as to how to find a girl who shares similar beliefs with me. I am in a christian group on my campus, but it is much more "small-group" oriented (small groups are separated by gender). I've grown up in the same church for all my life and the options are the same as they've always been (not quite what I am looking for and I have no intention of leaving my church). Then I look at the college lifestyle and most everyone I am surrounded by is only interested in fast hook ups and drinking while I don't even believe in pre-marital sex. Everyone else is dating for a "good time," while I am truly searching for someone who I can share the rest of my life with. I have no concerns about myself. I am confident in who I am and most everyone I meet can't help but like me. What's tough is finding the right people when it feels like everyone else is playing with a completely different set of rules, or not even playing the same game.

  • What's a good horror movie that makes you think?

I don't especially care for dumb violence/gore, although I am not opposed to gore when it has it's proper place. I am looking for a more intellectual stimulating horror movie. Something that will make you think for days about the implications and possibilities. I'm thinking movies like Inception, Source Code, The Sting, The Giver (all these are obviously not horror, but movies that lead to different questions to ponder). I want to watch a movie that will make me question how people interact, what is important in life, what is humanity, etc.

  • Where Can I Find Sheet Music to the Main Theme from "Lonesome Dove" TV Mini-Series?

I have searched and searched and searched on the web, but I only find sheet music for "The Lonesome Dove" (Appalachian Folk Song) and "In Lonesome Dove" (Garth Brooks). This was an extremely popular mini-series. I find it hard to believe there is no sheet music anywhere for it.

  • Jesus Wins?

I am a Christian, so please do not take this the wrong way. I have been struggling with the issue of hell. If Jesus does not end up saving everybody and walking away with all the marbles, how does he truly win? In my mind, God is perfect and therefore should get a perfect result, regardless of whether or not we have a choice. If anyone went to hell, isn't that a loss to God? I have had 2 separate theological upbringings (one semi-universal or restitutional and the other mainstream/orthodox) and am at a crossroads. What are Y'alls thoughts?

(Once again, understand that I am firm in my faith. I in no way doubt anything in the Bible. However, I do know that there are more theological stances then we'd like to admit that have been in conflict for over a thousand years. On many different issues, there are key questions that neither side can answer to the fullest).
