  • Am I wrong to feel guilty about these things?

I don't know if it's just me being stupid, but I feel guilty about a lot of things that most people don't even think twice about, so what I'm asking is, should I change the way I think about these things?

Here's an example: When I go for a job interview and if I get the job, I'll feel guilty that the other candidates didn't get the job. I'm lucky enough that I have a comfortable home to live in, I understand that there are other people out there, especially during these times that could really do with a break and get that job that I applied for. Or say in the future if I were to get a promotion in a job, what if someone else who I worked with, who also applied for a promotion could have really done with that position, what if he is in serious need of money or else he'd lose his home? I guess I'm just not cunning enough for this dog eat dog world, yet at the same time it is inescapable.

I just feel as though there aren't enough resources and everyones in some stupid rat race to get as much as they can, and that makes me think life is so pathetic. I know I sound like some sort of depressed "freak", but I have an overactive mind and can't seem to stop feeling guilty for wanting good things in my life and having ambitions and aspirations. I feel as though in this life there are winners and losers, and you can't be a winner without making someone else lose, I'm just not sure I have that cunningness to do such a thing. The funny thing is that I've got good grades, I've got a lot of potential, but I haven't got the dog eat dog attitude that is required in this messed up corporate world where money is our religion.

  • Why do a certain portion of homosexual men talk in a "camp" voice?

I ask this question only out of curiosity, I have nothing against gays. I'm very interested in sociology and what causes humans to do what they do, and so I was wondering why SOME, not all, but some gay men speak in a voice that could be described as "camp" or "feminine"? What causes it? Is it forced to advertise to other men that you are gay or does it come naturally? Again, I apologize if any offence is caused by this somewhat controversial question.

  • When is it appropriate to feel anxiety and when is it not?

I've had issues with anxiety for the last few months and would like to know in what sort of situations anxiety is useful/appropriate and when it isn't, because at the moment I've been anxious pretty much 24/7.

  • Do you agree that beautiful women have it easy?

Studies have shown that beautiful women are treated better, are offered help more and are more likely to be accepted for a job. Because they are beautiful they are generally more popular which means they are usually more confident about themselves. Also they get to choose who they want to marry because they know all men will be after them, so they will of course go for the most good looking and wealthy man, meaning they never really have to worry about finances which means there is no real pressure for them to work which means they can do whatever they like without a worry in the world.

Strikingly beautiful women have the best and easiest lives. Agree or disagree?

  • Why do nice guys finish last?

It seems weird that girls want to be treated well, but yet I always see girls go for jerks. What's up with that?

  • Do self-respecting girls like getting chatted up at clubs?

So I saw these to good looking girls (who weren't slutty looking) walk into the club and immediately all the guys looked over with their 'game faces' on. 3 of the guys who looked like sleazes walked over and tried chatting them up, and of course the girls left to go somewhere else. It got me thinking, do girls who aren't looking for a one night stand actually like being approached in a club? I mean clubs aren't exactly the most sophisticated of places to approach girls, and all girls there must surely know that the guys there are only looking for one thing.

Now now don't get all feminist/suffragette on me, even you gals know guys are better with using technology than women- OVERALL. It's just fact. A similar fact is how women are better than men at you know, cleaning and stuff. Aaaanyways, so yeh, why are we better with techno gadgets and the like?

  • Lost finale question (spoilers)?

So the flash sideways wasn't "real" life, it wasn't an alternative time line, it was a purgatory afterlife. But I have one question: Why did they all HAVE to go through all that they did in order gain access to "heaven". Why were they the ones chosen to help combat 'evil' (MiB) etc? Or rather, were they a microcosm of everyone who dies, as in everyone on earth who dies must go through a 'gateway' to reach a happy afterlife.

Also as a side note, does it not mean that the fact that they would all eventually die anyway deem the their whole experience on the island...pointless? Or rather was it their destiny that they as individuals were 'meant' to encounter one another in some way or another. Because in the flash sideways they always kept bumping into each other through 'coincidence'. So was it their fate that they were destined to affect each others lives and the island was simply a catalyst to bringing them together.

    Thanks yahoo answerers.

  • Lost finale question (beware spoilers)?

Again before asking the question just wanna say if you haven't seen the finale yet then stop reading now!

Anyways, so in the very last scene we see Jack dying and he sees the plane with Kate, Lepidus, Ben, Richard and whoever else finally flying home. But there's one thing I don't quite understand. We know that in the flash sideways the oceanic flight 15 characters all remember their past and have accepted it and "moved on". They are living as if none of the events on the island happened and are living in the year 2004 onwards. But the crew of Kate and co. on the plane leaving the island will return home in our current timeline i.e. (2010). So with this is mind, isn't it possible that 'Plane crash Kate' could at some point encounter 'Plane crash never happened Kate'? Or Sawyer meet the other Sawyer? Is this even possible? If no, why not? I think I'm missing something here.

I realise they are now living in alternate timelines, but not alternate worlds. They are still on earth, hence they could encounter themselves....right? I don't know exactly, any Lost pro's wanna help me out here cos I'm beginning to lose my mind!

  • What's that movie called?

It was released years ago like in the late 80/ early 90s and it was a weird movie about a computer and how it affected the relationship between a guy and a girl. The main thing is it had a song that I really want to know. I think the song had the words "dreams" in it but can't remember exactly.

  • who do you prefer: Nadal or Federer? and why?

I love both of them loads, but I'd say I slightly prefer Nadal overall. Federer plays the most elegant and amazingly technical tennis I've ever seen, his footwork is amazing and always seems cool and collected. But I just love Nadal's ferocious warrior like demeanour, and his forehand topspin is amazing, and he is the most athletically gifted player I've ever seen. But both are just amazing athletes though. Your thoughts?

  • What to do if you didn't have a father in your life?

Hi, I'll try to keep this short as possible. My dad died when I was 12 due to cancer/heart related issues. I'm a guy btw, and am now 22. From the age of 13 till now I've had a few problems. I have issues with confidence, motivation, anxiety, women and compassion. This has had a massive adverse effect on my life in that I've not been able to fulfill the potential that I know I have. Recently, as I've entered adulthood I've begun to look back and have realised all this. I have never really had a good male role model in my life since my dad died, who was himself a fantastic role model, a genuinely good hard working guy. I remember during my early years (1-12) I was an extremely hard working, highly ambitious and happy individual, a real positive energetic kid. I feel like I don't know that person anymore and feel so lost.

So I'm posting this here in the hope that there's maybe something I could do to get back to my old happy and confident self again. Thanks in advance everyone! :)

  • I messed up uni due to depression, but now I'm much better and looking for some advice as to what to do next?

Hey, so I got depressed during uni and now have only managed to get a 3rd class degree. The whole point in me doing a degree was to get good qualifications so that I could emerge as highly employable to get a good job. So now I'm wondering what can I do next to impress potential employers. I have two ideas: 1) work on a completely voluntary basis for 6 months purely for work experience; to show interviewers that I am determined to work hard for what I want.

or, 2) Do a postgraduate qualification, but I can't do a Masters due to my poor degree.

Has anyone got any ideas as to what I can do after uni to better myself? Many thanks yahoo answerers!
