  • Americans. do you consider England and the British empire an ancient civilisation?

As one of the only surviving ancient civilisations left intact the world seems to forget our past. Our version of the constitution was written a 1000 years ago but because we have wtitten annals archaeology and anthropology are redundant and therefore it seems less exciting

My hometown Oxford, and many of its building yhat are still in use for the same purpose as built are older than the aztec civilisation

  • Can you get real cheese in usa?

i am going to work in seattle for 12 weeks and am terrified about not being able to get proper cheese. in europe the cheese is so good,i dont know if i can survive. on tv they only ever mention processed cheese, swiss, blue, monteray or pepper jack, or american cheddar. what even is american cheddar? it looks nothing like real cheddar.

also what is meant by sharp? is it stronger?

    thanks

  • My best friend is paranoid and in denial.?

i love her with all my heart buy she began to put others down, make totally false accusations about people who love her for hating her or laughing at her, imagining worst case senarios about nothing at all, belittling people and generally being mean and bitter for no good reason, and setting stupid irrational expectations for people and then being angry at them for not meeting, she also has become obsessed with control of pointles anal things to a irrational level, taking over inflated satisfaction from it and expecting others to be impressed. when not important.

its so hard as she is so lovely and caring and now she is quickly alienating everyone. plus its increadibly hard to bear being accused by someone you love! x

  • Ameicans: do you really think creationism should be taught in schools over evolution?

    if so why?

can you see why the rest of world are concerned about this?

living in Britain, i find this inconceivable to be honest. not from a religious perspective or otherwise really, but more educational and political.

  • why do people have a problem with Atheists?

OK, so i have recently "come out" as an atheist, not that it was ever a secret really.

I have always been an atheist, and so are most of the people I know. but I haver recently announced it on social media etc. I am utterly disgusted by the amount of awful people who have told me they want me to burn in hell, (which is kind of stupid as I obviously dont believe in Hell!) or have insisted i am evil, or have no morals.

this is nonsense! cant they see this is making me see them badly? I never judge or questioned people until I started to be judged and questioned and it hurts!

I cannot understand why they seem to think being an atheist, it like being a Satanist, or being a member of the we hate god club. it isn't!

why be so mean? what does it matter? nobody likes being preached at. if your a christian try imagining a Muslim shouting at you and telling you your going to hell for believing the wrong thing - or vice versa?

  • Why do some people feel the need to insist you are wrong for liking certain foods? it's just rude!?

I like most things, and dislike some. Bit that's my problem. I hate it when people say that what you like is horrible. My mum hates cheese, and my Colleague hates mushrooms. If ever I Have them she is like err! That is so disgusting! You're gross for eating it it liking it.

I mean I cannot stand olives, but wouldn't dream of embarrassing someone who enjoys them! If anything, I wish I could enjoy them too! Lol

  • Help! sexy secret santa dilemma!?

OK, so this year my boss has decided to do sexual gifts for secret santa up to £10. but i drew the short straw and got her partner, who is a frumpy middle aged divorcee. now i never really liked the idea in the first place, i am no prude, but i just cant imagine anyone wanting a sex toy or something that is a tenner anyway.

thing is i don't think i have the nerve to go for an all out sex toy - but maybe i should? the other girls are, but then they probably have younger more fun cheeky girls to buy for.

her sister suggested a vagazzle and crotchless panties as a joke, and she seemed to like the idea, should i go for this? lol

    any advice?

  • am i disabled? i have osteogenesis imperfecta, and Ehlers danlos. both "invisible"?

i have osteogenesis imperfecta (type 1) brittle bone disease and ehlers danlos syndrome. i have 2 rare genetic disorders that both are "invisible" they cause me a lot of problems, but nobody seems to care at work, and also the NHS. i have nor seen a doctor for either condition in years, and am affected with pain, mobility problems, and stress caused by this, but it seems to just be swept under the carpet. do i qualify under the disibility discriminations act and am i entitled to any help?

  • why is it acceptable to be afraid of dogs, but if someone if afraid/ dislikes cats then its weird?

i cannot stand to be around cats. when one is in the street loose i am really worried, and i dont want to go into a home with one in. i get lots of grief about this from cat lovers.

as a dog owner. and dog lover i would never let my dog loose to jump up at people who may be afraid, and if someone said they were nervous around dogs i would keep him away.

i know dogs can be dangerous, but i have a ten inch scar on my arm from when i was 6 and a friends cat attacked me. it needed 30 stitches so this proves cats can be too.

  • should i be thin or stay average healthy size?

i am a uk size ten, and look pretty good. i am trendy and i know i am attractive. i would love to be thinner, but i already have problemswith women being horrible to me out of jealousy. i have been very slim before, and i liked it, but got loads of bitter bitchy remarks. i am not over weight, but could spare 15 - 20lb.

what is the general oppinion? do men prefer ladies without more than a little jiggle? i don't wanna be a stick, or underweight, but am torn between my desire to be thinner and more body confidence, and worrying about others opppinionsof me.

  • do some of the medical questions on her worry anyone else about the state of healthcare for the uninsured?

i mean i am from the uk where we have the national health service. if we feel a little unwell we see a doctor straight away with no questions asked, or cost to us.

i am so worried about some questions asked by people of other countries with serious health issues, sometimes concerning children.

i am interested to know what the deal is, and how they get treatment
