Hi, I am looking for an old sci fi book i read years ago.

from what i can remember it is set on a prison planet, the main protagonist is a man, the locals go to war with one another but do not aim to kill, instead they use chalk tipped spears and if anyone got marked they were out. Also there is a woman who chose to be bald and companies the protagonist. 

Ok so I read this book a while back and i can't remember its title.

What I can remember is that it is set in the future, it is sort of a sci fi book, the story itself is set on a planet for prisoners. The main character is a merchant who sells stuff to the natives who are animal like but can speak. The humans and natives fight each other with long sticks with chalk on the tips. A bald woman comes to the planet to get away from the corporate world where woman are treated like sex objects.

In the sequel of the book, the descendent of the main character from the 1st book is the main character. He is on a planet which has no technology so they think he is a magician.

I am currently looking for a direct x 11 graphics card. my budget is around R2000 (South African Rands) which is roughly $191.00 (US Dollars). Can you guys recommend me anything good to get.

I am also planning an upgrade for my cpu. I will have about the same budget. Can you recommend me a good cpu.

I recently got ADSL for my home PC and I want to know what is a good free anti virus to use. I am constantly on the internet and use it to download, upload and browse.

I am currently using Microsoft Security Essentials and it has not given me any problems so far.

But what I want to know is there any free anti virus that is better than Security Essentials?

Ok so today I turned on my pc and all it did was give me the option to start windows normally or go to startup repair. If I choose start windows normally the pc restarts.

In startup repair I get the error code 0x490. Whenever I try to run startup repair but it says that it is unable to repair it automatically. I can't even boot up in safe mode as it says there are files missing or corrupted.

What can I do to fix it?

I just got Skyrim for pc and I want to know what are the best mods for the game?

Ok so I hooked up my pc to my hdtv using hdmi but there is no sound. The video is perfect and crystal clear. The hdmi cable is from my Nvidea graphics card to the hdmi slot on the tv.

Does anyone know what the problem is? I don't want to use my old pc speakers since they are broken.

Ok so a friend of mine is selling his ps3 80 gig for R700 (south african rand) which is about $91 (us dollars).

He has no cables or controllers but it is good condition, he hardly ever used it. I have the cables so I just need to get controllers.

Is it a good price? Should I get it or should I look for a better deal?

I remember playing this game years ago. It is a 2d game where you only use the mouse. The point of the game is to go through the level playing pranks on your neighbor and if he sees you, you have to start the level again. I think one level was on a ship and another was in china. I think the word neighbor was in the games title.

Which is the most important to upgrade and what should I get?

I mostly use the pc for games and movies and I can run games like crysis 2 and deus ex human revolution at the highest setting quite smoothly.

Ok let me list the faults

Firstly if I do not leave a disk in the drive, it won't open it will just stay closed even though on the dashboard it says opening, I have to fidle about with it to get it to open.

Secondly whenever the drive opens it does not open fully the green lights on the xbox always flashes and after a few seconds the drive will close automatically. I have to pull it a bit to get it to open fully.

Thirdly it has problems playing my games. It always says disk unreadable and must clean disk and sometimes it won't even read the disk, it just says open tray. Something it takes about half an hour before I can play a game.

My xbox is old and my drive is the samsung ms28.

Do I have to replace the whole drive or can I just change the lens or something?

What other great rpg games are there to play. it doesn't have to be recent games and can be old games.

I love fantasy novels and I have read The Lord of the Rings trilogy and the Hobbit. I have also begun reading The Wheel of Time novels which are excellent.

I am looking for novels similar to these types of books. Were there is magic and it is set during ancient times.

Also if you could recomend any new fantasy books, it would be great.

I have a LG Flatron w2343t. When hooked up to my pc there is always a green tint in the dark areas, especially in movies when there is black.

I have tried updating video drivers, I have tried using both vga and dvi and still nothing. The monitor works perfectly when connected to my xbox. Also I have another lcd monitor and that works perfectly on my pc.

What could be the problem?

I dont have a fax machine so i was wondering if it is possible for me to send an email to a fax number.

If i update the opera mini on my cellphone from v5 to v6 will my saved username and passwords and bookmarks still be there or will all that be deleted.
