need help with this algebra 2 problem please?
I have been stumped on this math problem, involving vertical motion. I need to use a quadratic equation for vertical motion, which i think is( h= -16t 2 + v0t = h0) I think I have the answers figured out,I think (sigh) but don't have the confidence in my own math abilities since I am struggling. I have tried to get tutoring both in and out of school (in school tutoring has not helped me at all) outside tudors that I tried to hire turned me away because their schedule if full. My school never issued us textbooks because they don't have enough for every student so I don't even have a book I can try to study on my own this year, and I am at my wits end and am trying to really get this and really need some help to be sure it is correct. Can some one show me how they would correctly write this out and step by step explain how to solve this to see if I can "get" it? Please? (Serious help only) I am looking to find the solution to each of the the following (how I would be sure that I find the appropriate vales in my equation;
*seconds to reach the maximum height
*maximum height reached
*time vomit was in the air
here is the problem;
a baby whose mouth is being held at 5 feet above the ground by its father begins to projectile vomit. The vomit is projected in an initial vertical velocity of 1 and 1/2 feet per second. What is the maximum height the vomit reached, and how many seconds did it take to reach that height? how long was the vomit in the air?
2 AnswersHomework Help9 years agoHelp with algebra 2 Please!!??!! I have done my homework, but am afraid it might be wrong?
I am having the hardest time trying to get algebra 2, I have this problem and am not sure that I solved it correctly, I think I did. I was hoping a math geniuses out there would be willing to do this problem correctly so that I can check my work please? anyone that can help me, I would really appreciate it. Here is the problem I am looking at;
Luke and Leia are trapped in a room on a space station. The room is is 20 metres long and 15 meters wide. the length is decreasing linearly with time at a rate of 2 meters per minute, and the width is increasing linearly with time at a rate of 3 meters per minute.
a) let L (t) and W(t) be the length and width of the room, respectively, in meters. let t be the number of minutes since the room was
b) let A (t) be the number of square meters of floor area in the room
c) what is the maximum area the room will reach, and when does the room reach this area?
d)when will the area of the room be zero?
Mathematics9 years agomy hot water started leaking from the tub spout, what does this mean?
I woke up to my hot water running fast into the tub, from the tub's spout (not the faucet handles) last night about 1am. It's been below freezing here and the hot water side of the tub faucet is close to an exterior wall of the house. I thought someone must have left the water running full blast, (kids??) so I shut it off only to discover that the faucet had a tiny one drop drip. I didn't think much about it, feeling like it was good to let it drip anyway, because of the cold weather. Then, this morning, my son took a shower and after turning off the faucets, the hot water is now basically still running, not full blast, but it's a lot more than a drip, (more like the faucet is actually turned on) though the handle is shut off. It can't be tightened any more now at all so it is basically running out all our hot water. I don't know what to do about this. Does anyone know what this means and how I can fix this? I can't afford a plumber, so I have to find a way to fix this myself. Your help is very much appreciated.
6 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoHow can you tell if a laptop has had a remote kill versus damage? I can't get it to boot up?
I found a laptop on the road. It was powered on and logged in and in fact open, when I found it, and was still rocking, so obviously it had just slipped off the top or trunk of a moving car because of how it was found, and apparently had just happened and had not been run over by a vehicle yet. There was some screen damage, but not too bad. I had to get to a place where I could park and see if there was a way to try to identify the owner (yes I'm an honest person, who has found more than one purse, back pack, checkbook, cell phone, camera, and drivers license's and money in my lifetime and believe in returning them to their rightful owners) By the time I looked at it and while I was in the process of trying to figure out a way to be able to identify the owner, the battery died on it. I finally acquired a power cord and now have it charged, but when I have tried to get it running now, it will not boot up at all. I have held down the F12 button and get it started and then it starts to run the diagnostics then gives me an error message of 0141 and asks if I want dell to check it. Then it beeps with this annoying beep and several of the lights blink consecutively. It almost sounds like an alarm. The thing is, that I don't know if this means that it's broken, and non fixable, or if it has been remotely "kill switched" somehow. I tend to lean towards believing it was remotely kill switched. It has blue tooth technology and media direct and wifi. Its a dell xps m1210. I just don't know whether it's worth my time to bother with it. I know that whatever the outcome, it would need a new monitor screen since about a third of it is cracked and unusable, but the overall condition of the computer doesn't seem to be bad at all, just "interfered" with somehow. That's why I was wondering if it has been kill switched remotely, and if so, is there a to tell, and to be able to undo the kill switch, and/or wipe it and reload new software? I'd ultimately like to find the real owner, but they never responded to my ads and its been a long time now and there was no "stolen" report to my knowledge. I think they must have assumed the worst and not bothered with even looking for it because of the "kill" software. It seems a huge waste of a computer just to trash it if it can be recovered and returned to it's owner, or even at this point, salvaged and used for a child's learning computer with a new screen or an axillary monitor, or something. If anyone knows how to tackle this problem, any help is greatly appreciated!
1 AnswerLaptops & Notebooks1 decade agoregarding ford F-150 truck tail light problem?
This is an update to the last posting. I checked fuses, wiring harnesses in the back and also the bulbs. The back turn signals and brake lights(both of them) are not working. thank you for your suggestions on the ground. My question in addition is, The back lights work when the lights headlights are on, but not when the head lights are off. Could it still be a problem with the ground? Any help would really be appreciated. FYI, the front blinkers are working on a fast blink. Fords!!! You still gotta love em
LAST POSTING:
The rear tail light and turning indicator light have stopped working on our 1998 Ford F-150 truck. We have replaced the bulbs and checked the fuse box, which appear to be okay, yet the lights still do not work. There is no evidence of a wire problem in the visible areas. Any ideas on what can be done to fix it or what might be the problem? We are currently unemployed and cannot afford to go to a shop, but also need our truck to be able to find work. Please help if this problem sounds familiar to you. Thank you! :o)
