Just looking for some C++ source code of games. I'm just starting out in programming and would like to look at code for games I could possibly start out by making. I know about some of the simple ones like the snake game, tic-tac-toe, and such but I'm also curious about other games like retro adventure games, maybe even simple RTS games. Really any classical games. I'd love to start out with programming a retro style game just because it would be an interesting place to start.

I'm just looking for something to read but for under 5$.

I'm looking for any fantasy, high fantasy, sci-fi, novels that are of good quality both in writing and in story.

Kind of vague but any suggestions anyone?

My family has been with Centurytel since we got internet. When they were switched to Centurylink we've had nothing but problems.

We decided to upgrade to 10mbps and it only sits around 5 - 6mbps. I know this is actually pretty average but we've also had an issue where we lose connection all together. We then have to turn the router on and off for it to hopefully work.

Every time we call them they have another excuse of it either being the router or a firewall of all things.

My mom is hoping to switch to a new ISP but I'm not sure which provider we can get for the same speed here. We live in Forks Washington.

I've looked into Earthlink being it having a good review but it only could get us 5mbps here through satellite. We'd prefer cable or DSL.

Plan on really getting into programming as it may be a career choice or a serious hobby in the future.

I've done a few beginner books that hold your hand and tell you what to write for code but none that really have explained the true concepts and what they do. I've done my best to go over the web through forums to help myself and its worked well enough.

My focus for programming is game programming but I know that learning any sort of coding would help me in the future. I'm focusing now on C and C++ coding. I thought about learning BASIC first and I did do some simple BASIC coding a year back but never really pushed to far into it and don't really want to learn a simple language then have to switch to C.

What I'm looking for is any good books for someone who knows enough about coding (some of the very early concepts like variables and a little into loops) but not seriously advanced. A lot of the game programming books I've read have done the hand holding thing so I'd like some pure C or C++ books that have info for beginners and intermediate users.

I plan to also study source code but until then I'd rather have a sturdy foundation from some text books.

Any books would be great or general tips. Thanks.

I've become interested in playing D&D but have no one in my area to play with. I was curious as to whether or not there was a forum that did this often using programs over the pc along with chat programs. I saw a program called D&D 4.0 a while back and figured that would be use as well.

I was hoping to start doing some recording of my personal game play for The Elder Scrolls Morrowind. I am using an older computer with a rather small hard drive. I only have 17 gigs of free space atm, and no I can't get a new pc right now or I would. Anyways, I'm wondering if there is any way to really decrease the size the video is saved at during recording, or if there is a better program out there for me that will still produce good video quality.

I want to buy a cd burner, but this is the first time I've really looked into buying one. I'd like a cheap one because I don't know how long I'm going to have the computer I have, and a new one would have a burner. However, I'm looking for a burner that can burn games easily. Burning iso's and cd's and what not for the pc. Any suggestions?

Alright, I used to use mininova which had a good amount of torrents, but it went all legal. Anyways I'm looking for another site that has a large selection like mininova did. I've tried pirate bay but it just seems so crowded with ads and virus crap.

Ok so I had an old xbox that went **** house so we got rid of it. Recently we bought an Elite with the money we got from the last one. On the other one I had downloaded so DLC for a few games, and my brother had played on his account using the DLC as well. Now he cant use it like we used to. Is there anyway I can get it to work

I've heard and read things about Free Shards but I'm wondering if that allows you to play the game 100% free. I really don't have money to shovel out to a game to be able to play it. I'm just wondering if the Free Shards are a way to play the game 100% free without paying.

Alright I need a little help here. I have an old gun safe that I have misplaced the key for. I don't have any guns in it but a bit of other things and I'd like to be able to get them out. I thought it would be more interesting to pick the lock instead of paying to get it opened.

I'm not exactly sure what the lock type is, but I can give a description. It isn't a lever handled safe nor an electronic one. It has a key that when inserted into the lock presses these small pegs inside. The key is a circle. The key is turned when pushed all the way in and that opens the safe. Is their any way to pick it without doing damage to it?

I had a timer that would shut an electrical device off over time. It had a similar lock only with one peg to push in. I could push it in with a paperclip to open it.

Anyways anyone know of anyway I could learn to pick it?

I'm mainly looking for mods that enhance single player. Maybe adding weapons, much better AI, great maps hopefully with great areas to snipe from.

Now I've played Project Realism and loved it but I'm looking for other mods as well to just add to the vanilla game. Anyways with the huge selection out there hope someone can show me some great mods.

Like in the question. If I play Battlefield 2 can I level up in single player mode and earn medals like in Multiplayer. I'd like to be able to play single player and unlock the weapons for each class. If the vanilla game doesnt allow this are their any mods that i can do this with.

Just looking for opinions and games that you loved/love to play. Looking for RPG style games with deep gameplay along with a play style maybe similar to Morrowind of Oblivion. Not the same gameplay of course but similar.

I remember I used to have a program which had a large selection of music clips, sound effects and such that you could put together to make pretty cool songs. On the site your music was uploaded and others could hear it and comment it. I have forgotten the name of it and am wondering if anyone knows what it is called? Sorry but don't know how else to explain what it was.

I'm kind of new with the whole web space and site hosting thing so I came here first. I'd like to get a free web site that I can use as a forum and edit as I wish. Mainly I'd like to use it for hosting game projects for other groups. I would just run the site while they used it to work on the project with their team. Is there anything out there like this?

I have a book called, Learning Perl, or the "lama book" and am trying to learn to program and write small programs. This is the first language I've ever tried to learn and I have no prior knowledge of programming at all. I recently downloaded perl-5.10.0 from perl.com along with ConTEXT to write the codes. I however have no idea how to install perl and how to run the written codes. I can't even get the simple hello world code to work. I don't know how to turn the ConTEXT file into a program and run it like so. I also don't know how to install perl from the perl-5.10.0 file which just gives me a bunch of executable files and other folders.

I'm completely lost and would appreciate the help. Thanks

Just bought Garry's mod and looked through garrysmod.org at the many addons for the game. Lets just say that sites a bit overwhelming when your just browsing because of the lack of organization. I'm just curious if anyone has some suggestions for mods that are great to have for someone who is looking to build forts, vehicles, weapons, and other contraptions.

P.S I do know about the PHX mod packs but am not sure if the 3rd pack is all the packs in one of is just the 3rd addition.

I'm looking to add money to a paypal account. I made one and was wondering if there was a way that I could add money to it without connecting it to a credit card or bank account. Could I just add money from credit card or another paypal account or must it be connected to bank or card itself.

Ok so I've been playing Morrowind off and on for quite a while but haven't really dug into the mods. I'm looking for mods to cover these parameters

Graphic Enhancers. Effects, Terrain, and Textures

Combat Enhancers. Better fighting, and magic.

Game play Enhancers. Forging, Crafting, along with other realism mods.

AI Enhancers. Better creature reactions and more intelligent enemies.

Any other mod suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
