  • Does letting small babies use their legs to stand whilst you are supporting them cause bow-leggedness?

myself and a friend have small babies-6 and 8 wks old. They seem to like to try and push up on their legs and 'stand' on your lap with us supporting their main body weight. My nan says that people used to say not to let babies do this as it causes them to be bow-legged later in childhood as you are making them weight bare prematurely. seems im holding most his weight and they get frustrated if we dont allow them to do this its very confusing. is this just an old wives tale as all babies are bow-legged until 12mnths i thought and then it corrects itself as they learn to walk?

  • want to get a second cat- how can i introduce them and ease the bonding process??

i have a small domestic short hair two year old neutered female cat i got from the animal shelter and would like to get another from the shelter.

our cat has a very placid personality and previously lived with her son who was adopted from the shelter, before we adopted her ourselves(she was left behind). she has settled in well and we dont want her to feel pushed out or intimidated by a new cat. we plan to get a neutered female of a similar age , breed and size. is there any tips or advice anyone could give on this??

    thanks in advance
