  • Help Alerting Element Tags in Javascript?

    I'm having a little difficulty with this.

    I'm trying to get Javascript to alert() all <p> tags in a HTML page using the getElementsByTagName().

    http://pastebin.com/GRkmEy70

    It works fine with document.write but not as a pop-up window, which is what I need it to do.

    The final result should simply be a pop-up box that says "bobisyouruncle"

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • Javascript problem...again?

    Right, basically I'm trying to figure out how to add a text field value to the end of an already defined array.

    http://pastebin.com/PnAprJCN

    Running the code simply makes the alert box display only what I typed in. I'm trying to make it have the words Tom,Tim,Lyn,Bob,Jack - if I typed in Jack and clicked for example.

    If anyone can help I'd be very appreciative, although I'm trying not to make this a habit.

  • Help with javascript problem?

    Right, I have a Javascript problem.

    I am trying to get the most simple of code working and even then it still won't even kick in.

    In my HTML document I have this

    <form>

    <input type="button" value="Click me!" onclick="displaymessage()" />

    </form>

    Sodding simple ***.

    In my Javascript file I have this

    function displaymessage()

    {

    alert("Hello World!");

    }

    No matter what I seem to do, no javascript wants to work at all. I have linked the HTML file to the external JS file, both are in the same folder etc....

    If any of you can help, or know whats wrong I'd be infinitely grateful

  • Why did Lucifer rebel against God?

    I'm not really a religious person, but I was always told the story about how Lucifer managed 1/3 of heavens angels to turn against God.

    Why did he rebel against God? He must have had proper reason to, he is always depicted as evil. But if rebelling against God makes him evil then that makes God seem too...much of an ***.

    Anyone help me out here? Because if that all there really is too it, then how do we know Lucifer wouldn't have made a better God?

  • Very easy English question?

    Which sentence is correct?

    I'm an European

    or

    I'm a European

    The second sounds right but the first sounds muddled to say due to the 'Eu' part of European.

  • UCAS points question.?

    I currently have 240 UCAS points from my A levels at sixth form.

    I am currently on a foundation diploma for Art and Design level 3.

    My university offered me a conditional place if I get 280 UCAS points.

    Will my diploma course add up with my A level UCAS points, and if possible - does anyone know what a foundation course is worth in UCAS points? For Merit, pass and distinction?

    Really appreciate any help you can give me.

  • Should India have a direct say on the UK immigration policy?

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2010/jul/28/dav...

    PM responds to fears that proposed immigration cap will harm trade links with New Delhi with new 'spirit of humility'

    n a sign of what the prime minister will today describe as a new "spirit of humility" towards India, Downing Street is making it clear that Britain will consult Delhi over a proposed new cap on non-EU immigration.

    Cameron's trip to India, which he will launch today with a speech to business leaders in the hi-tech centre of Bangalore, had threatened to be overshadowed by concerns in Delhi about the cap.

  • Does the UK need more Ethnic Minority Spies?

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/10589031

    "It is critical to have a diverse staff group who are able to profile and recognise certain behaviour patterns and communications," the document says.

    The report recommends better engagement with ethnic minority communities in order to boost recruitment and improve the image of the organisation.

    To make sure we are politically correct, should more affirmative action for government spies be needed?

  • Who was in the wrong?

    I had a little argument with my mother this morning, she was saying would you like to go to Jamaica? - "Not really no" i replied, she then went on to say "is that because it is full of black people?" it was at this point where I became very defensive and demanded to know if she was joking or not - she wouldn't say and said my attitude was terrible, I asked her to apologize and said I would be willing to apologize for my reaction to her calling me a racist too, however she decided to confiscate my computer power cable instead as punishment.

    Who was in the wrong here? Should I have let her make imflammatory assumptions about me and not tried to defend myself? She said that because I was 17 I had no right to an opinion.

  • Was what I did wrong?

    It was about 4 years ago.

    I once had a friend who was an utter ***** to me, she was literally a complete bully in primary and high school, she absolutely loved the fact that she had this mental dominance over me, of course I couldn't have a go at her seeing how we see each other practically every day, so even if I did do something she'd still be a *****, sometimes she would spread weird rumours about me at school, sometimes she would take me to the cinema and shout out 'he's groping me!' in the middle of it - getting me arrested.

    One day I thought, "**** it" I'm not going to deal with this **** anymore, so when she called me I told her to stay the **** away from me, of course being the self righteous cow she is, she immediately came over to my house, came in and tried to find out what was wrong, I told her I was fed up with her being such a dominant ***** and such a *********, she looked like she was sorry, I honestly thought she was, then suddenly she says "If you wanted to me to be your slave you only had to ask" I was pissed, even now she was making fun of me, she was laughing, so I just let out a sigh and said.... "that so", I looked at her and she widened her eyes, I stood up, grabbed her and pushed her onto my bed, she didn't say anything but her eyes were wide open in shock.

    I continued "then you won't mind me doing this right?" she didn't say anything she was still in shock at my actions, I went on "how does it feel knowing that the one you was always your dog is going to take away your innocence, how does it feel to be in this position, knowing that there is always someone dragging you down, how does it feel knowing that I, who have always been inferior in your eyes am about to change everything...?"

    She looked at me straight in the eyes, then turned her head she was still bright red and clearly shaking, "I assume I have your consent?" she gave a little nod but she was breathing very heavily, we then continued, I took off her clothes, then took off mine, the box of unopened condoms was finally opened, she told me she's never done this before so she'd let me take control.... How brilliant! This ***** who had always been dragging me down was now being controlled by ME! We went on to do it, she was moaning and breathing fast all the way through it, she of course was also a virgin.... After that we were never the same, I no longer take the **** she gives me, and now she is actually a decent friend....

    I had consent of course, in case you missed that out.

  • Why are my torrents slow in comparison?

    I did a download speed check, and it estimated that a 800 megabyte movie would take 19 minutes etc...

    My download speed is 5.48Mb/s, according to speedtest.net, yet my torrent speeds pretty much stay capped at 120kB/s. which takes a lot longer.

    How can I change this (if I can?)

  • Should white people be stopped from applying for jobs to support diversity?

    http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/row...

    "A council today defended a decision to exclude white people from applying to join a management training scheme.

    Bristol City Council is facing criticism after the two-year graduate placement, worth £18,000, was offered only to ethnic minorities"

    One potential applicant, who did not wish to be named, told the Bristol Evening Post: "I am a tolerant white person who has lived in Bristol for 27 years.

    "I am currently searching for a job and stumbled across a job advertisement on Bristol City Council's website that I see as totally racist.

    "I feel the job itself would be an excellent opportunity for me to make use of the skills and qualifications that I have acquired. However, being white I am totally excluded from applying for the post."

  • Why do we have Gay-Pride parades? They're embarrassing as hell!?

    OK, my city had a gay pride parade yesterday and it makes me ashamed of being gay - I don't understand what is wrong with other gay people, taxpayers money was sent to this parade so we could all say how great it is being gay - I do NOT want that! I want to be recognised as an ordinary person - regardless of my sexuality.

    I feel no need to celebrate being homosexual.

  • Should I stop beating my girlfriend?

    It seems every time we play Wii Sports she gets in a right huff whenever I beat her at snowboarding, football, basketball, I know she's bad at it, but i'm quite a competitive person -should I let her win every once in a while?
